2018 NFL Mock Draft: Ninth Edition

Here is my eighth edition of my 2018 NFL Draft.

1. Cleveland Browns- Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming: After pegging Sam Darnold in the top spot in all of the mock drafts I did, I finally decided to go with Allen here as many are speculating that the Browns may take Allen over Darnold. Allen has the most upside among the quarterbacks due to his athleticism, arm strength, and size and draws comparisons to Carson Wentz.

2. New York Giants- Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC: I was told recently that if Darnold is at the board at 2, the Giants will take him to be their future quarterback. If not, the pick will be traded. Darnold has the highest floor of all the quarterbacks in this draft and he has the athleticism, the leadership, good throwing arm, and clutch play as he's shown at the collegiate level.

3. New York Jets (from Indianapolis Colts)- Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma: There is a lot of speculation that the Jets will take Mayfield here unless Darnold is still on the board. Mayfield has a ton of potential with his gunslinger mentality although due to his height and off the court antics, is compared to Johnny Manziel.

4. Cleveland Browns (from Houston Texans)- Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, North Carolina State: There is a lot of speculation now that the Browns will take Chubb here to pair with Myles Garrett. Chubb a three-down back that would help them pressure opposing quarterbacks and having him and Garrett together would be a nice start.

5. Denver Broncos- Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA: Rosen's stock is dropping due to his concussion issues and his former coach Jim Mora throwing him under the bus. Rosen is thought out by some to be the safest bet in this draft (in terms of quarterbacks) due to his accuracy and refined throwing mechanics.

6. Indianapolis Colts (from New York Jets)- Roquan Smith, Linebacker, Georgia: This would be a
somewhat of a reach pick, but the Colts need play makers on defense. Smith brings speed and athleticism to the field and that's good for a defense that's desperate for talent.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State: What a steal this would be for a team that needs a running back upgrade. Barkley is the drafts best player perhaps as he could do pretty much everything that a running back can do. He could be Jameis Winston's security blanket for years to come.

8. Chicago Bears- Quenton Nelson, Guard, Notre Dame: The Bears get a steal here with Nelson, who is the best offensive lineman in this draft. Nelson seems like a sure thing and worthy of a top-ten pick and could go as high as fourth overall.

9. San Francisco 49ers- Tremaine Edmunds, Linebacker, Virginia Tech: With Reuben Foster's future with the team suddenly in doubt after his arrest, the Niners almost have to take a linebacker here if either Smith or Edmunds is available. Edmunds will only be twenty years old once the season gets going and his athleticism and play making will give the Niners defense another look.

10. Oakland Raiders- Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama: This would be a steal here for the Raiders, who have a bigger need for a linebacker, so instead take Fitzpatrick to bolster their secondary. Fitzpatrick's versatility makes him special and he's perhaps the best defensive player in this draft.

11. Miami Dolphins- Vita Vea, Denfensive Tackle, Washington: Vea, a massive presence in the middle of a defensive line, will go a long way toward fixing that deficiency, while also providing enough quickness to penetrate into the backfield on some third downs. He also has quick feet and good movement skill for a big defensive lineman.

12. Buffalo Bills (from Cincinnati Bengals)- Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville: With the Cards lurking a few spots back, the Bills snag Jackson to be their quarterback of the future. He's a a good decision maker and passer and does he start opening day or is he red shirted learning behind AJ McCarron?

13. Washington Redskins- Derwin James, Strong Safety, Florida State: Perhaps the best defensive playmaker in the draft, James is the new NFL prototype as a safety capable of producing against the run or in both man and zone coverage. Florida State also used him as a pure edge rusher, where he regularly pressured the quarterback.

14. Green Bay Packers- Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State: Ward dropping this far would be a massive steal for the Packers and it would be a no brainer for them to pick him here. Ward isn't the biggest cornerback in the draft but he can cover skills that are hard to come by in the league.

15. Arizona Cardinals- Josh Jackson, Cornerback, Iowa: Jackson could be picked in the top 15-20 or he can fall completely out of the first round. With a quarterback off the board, the Cards take Jackson here to pair in the secondary with Patrick Peterson. He has size and speed and led the FBS in interceptions last year.

16. Baltimore Ravens- Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama: The Ravens have lacked a big-threat receiver for years now and they get one here with Ridley, although they did sign John Brown and Michael Crabtree. Ridley brings a downfield, speedy option on the outside that would bring a different look to the Ravens offense.

17. Los Angeles Chargers- Da'Ron Payne, Defensive Tackle, Alabama: The Chargers pose what is arguably the best edge rushing duo in the league with Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. Adding someone like Payne would only make that defensive line better.

18. Seattle Seahawks- Harold Landry, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Boston College: Landry is all over the map in terms of where people have him mocked in these mock drafts. Landry didn't have a great final season in college, but has the tools to be a solid pro.

19. Dallas Cowboys- Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver, SMU: With the Cowboys releasing Dez Bryant, they replace him with Sutton, who could be a possible steal. Sutton put together back-to-back seasons of 1,000 yards and 10 TDs, and he scored 32 times in all in his three seasons with the Mustangs.

20. Detroit Lions- Marcus Davenport, Defensive End, UTSA: The Lions need pass rushing help to go along with Ziggy Ansah. He is athletic, moves very well, and has physicality, which Matt Patricia would like.

21. Cincinnati Bengals (from Buffalo Bills)- James Daniels, Center, Iowa: Daniels is trending up many peoples mock boards and a ton of people have Daniels linked to Cincinnati. He's a good athlete and good technician for a center.

22. Buffalo Bills (from Kansas City Chiefs)- Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame: After the trading of Cody Glenn, the Bills have a need on the offensive line. McGlinchey isn't that strong, but he's athletic and brings stability.

23. New England Patriots (from Los Angeles Rams)- Kolton Miller, Offensive Tackle, UCLA: Miller put together a great final season at the collegiate level and he would fit right away replacing Nate Solder on the Pats O-line. Miller is big and strong and would help protect Tom Brady during his twilight years.

24. Carolina Panthers- Will Hernandez, Guard, UTEP: No brainer pick here as the Panthers find their replacement for Andrew Norwell. Hernandez is big and powerful and he provides mobility.

25. Tennessee Titans- Leighton Vander Esch, Linebacker, Boise State: Vander Esch is rising up many peoples mocks drafts of late. He's a stellar athlete that could patrol sideline to sideline and would be a nice fit in Mike Vabrel's defense.

26. Atlanta Falcons- Taven Bryan, Defensive End, Florida: The Falcons don't have any major needs, but bolstering the defensive line is necessary since Dontari Poe departed in free agency. Bryan has drawn comparisons to JJ Watt and will bring depth to the Falcons defensive line.

27. New Orleans Saints- Dallas Goedert, Tight End, South Dakota State: Goedert's draft stock is trending up although there are some concerns due to injury. Goedert would be a nice weapon for Drew Brees.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Rashaan Evans, Linebacker, Alabama: Evans brings an athletic presence who can fill multiple roles. He was more of an edge defender early in his career, and he pressured the quarterback on 67 of his 284 career rushes. However, he also showed well in a more traditional role over the last two years.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars- DJ Moore, Wide Receiver, Maryland: Moore is a fast riser on many peoples draft boards and the Jags snag him to help replace Allen Robinson. There are people that think Moore could end up being the best receiver in this draft class.

30. Minnesota Vikings- Connor Williams, Offensive Tackle/Guard, Texas: The Vikes have options here, so they take Williams to improve their offensive line. Williams provides versatility and would start at one of the tackle spots on this Vikings team.

31. New England Patriots- Isaiah Wynn, Guard, Georgia: The Pats bolster their offensive line by selecting Wynn, who could be a possible steal. He can play tackle if needed but will succeed as a guard instantly and plays with outstanding leverage and has the athleticism to mirror pass-rushers.

32. Philadelphia Eagles- Jaire Alexander, Cornerback, Louisville: Alexander is a fast riser on many peoples mock boards and the Eagles can use another corner after losing Patrick Robinson in free agency. He is great in man-to-man coverage and could be drafted higher than this.

2015 MLB Re-Draft

Here I'm going to re-draft the First Round of the 2015 MLB Draft. How many picks will be the same? How many picks will be different?

1. Arizona Diamondbacks- Andrew Benintendi, Outfielder, Arkansas: The Diamondbacks take Benintendi here in the re-draft to be their left fielder of the future. Yasmany Tomas hasn't worked out in left field and a duo of Benintendi and AJ Pollock would be awfully enticing and maybe they use David Peralta as a trade chip instead of Ender Inciarte or the guy they took in this spot, Dansby Swanson.
Actual Pick: Dansby Swanson, Shortstop, Vanderbilt

2. Houston Astros- Alex Bregman, Third Baseman, LSU: No due-over here as the Astros take their guy in Bregman, who converted from shortstop to third. Bregman was a big part of the Astros World Series run a season ago and he'll be apart of the Astros for a long time.
Actual Pick: Bregman

3. Colorado Rockies- Ian Happ, Outfielder, Cincinnati: The Rockies take Happ here, who has been really good for the Cubs since he got called up last season. He's probably going to stick in Chicago long term and he would have been a nice fit in the Rockies outfield with Charlie Blackmon.
Actual Pick: Brendan Rodgers, Shortstop/Second Baseman, Lake Mary High School (FL)

4. Texas Rangers- Dansby Swanson, Shortstop, Vanderbilt: Swanson drops to the Rangers in this draft. Swanson had a disappointing season a year ago and is poised to have a good year this season. He was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Braves in the disastrous Shelby Miller trade and maybe he's trade bait with the Rangers too with Elvis Andrus playing short for them.
Actual Pick: Dillon Tate, Pitcher, UC Santa Barbara

5. Houston Astros- Walker Buehler, Pitcher, Vanderbilt: With their second top five pick, the Astros take Buehler to possibly become their future ace. He's certainly the future ace of the Dodgers or at least co-ace with Clayton Kershaw.
Actual Pick: Kyle Tucker, Outfielder, HB Plant High School (FL)

6. Minnesota Twins- Scott Kingery, Infielder, Arizona: Kingery has proven to be a steal at where the Phillies took him in the second round. Kingery is certainly apart of the Phillies future long term and would have been a nice fit on the Twins due to his versatility.
Actual Pick: Tyler Jay, Pitcher, Illinois

7. Boston Red Sox- Brendan Rodgers, Infielder, Lake Mary High School (FL): With Benintendi off the board, the Sox take an infielder in Rodgers. He hasn't reached the bigs yet, but he's still very young and raw and will be apart of the Rox long term future whether it's at short or at second.
Actual Pick: Andrew Benintendi, Outfielder, Arkansas

8. Chicago White Sox- Kyle Tucker, Outfielder, HB Plant High School (FL): The White Sox take Tucker here, who drops a few spots in the re-draft. Tucker is in AAA right now and it won't be
surprising to see him starting in the Astros outfield come the end of the season.
Actual Pick: Carson Fulmer, Pitcher, Vanderbilt

9. Chicago Cubs- Triston McKenzie, Pitcher, Royal Palm Beach High School (FL): McKenzie proven to be a steal at where the Indians selected him in the second round. He's going to be a future piece of that great Indians rotation and would have been a nice fit in the Cubs rotation long term.
Actual Pick: Ian Happ, Outfielder, Cincinnati

10. Philadelphia Phillies- Mike Soroka, Pitcher, Bishop Carroll High School (Alberta): Soroka has proven to be a steal at where the Braves selected him in the Compensatory Round. Soroka is in AAA right now and will be on the Braves at some point this season whether it's starting or as a reliever.
Actual Pick: Cornelius Randolph, Shortstop/Outfielder, Griffin High School (GA)

11. Cincinnati Reds- Willie Calhoun, Second Baseman/Outfielder, Yavapai: Calhoun proved to be a
steal at where the Dodgers selected him in the fourth round. The Dodgers shipped Calhoun to Texas for Yu Darvish last year and Calhoun is going to be a player for the Rangers going forward whether it's infield, outfield, or DH.
Actual Pick: Tyler Stephenson, Catcher, Kennesaw Mountain High School (GA)

12. Miami Marlins- Kolby Allard, Pitcher, San Clemente High School (CA): The Marlins take Allard here to bank on his potential. He is in AAA right now and can see time on the Braves at some point this season.
Actual Pick: Josh Naylor, First Baseman, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School (Ontario)

13. Tampa Bay Rays- Chance Adams, Pitcher, Chaparral High School (AZ): The Yanks got a steal at where they selected Adams in the fifth round. He's in AAA right now, but he is off to a slow start though. He'll likely see time on the Yanks this season and would have been a nice piece on the Rays.
Actual Pick: Garrett Whitley, Outfielder, Niskayuna High School (NY)

14. Atlanta Braves- Beau Burrows, Pitchers, Weatherford High School (TX): With Allard off the board, the Braves get Burrows, who could be a front line starter some day. Burrows is in AA right now and there's a chance he's pitching with the Tigers come September.
Actual PickKolby Allard, Pitcher, San Clemente High School (CA)

15. Milwaukee Brewers- Jahmai Jones, Second Baseman, Wesleyan School (GA): The Angels got a
steal with Jones at where they selected him in the second round. Jones is currently in Advanced-A and will probably be in the Angels long term plans.
Actual Pick: Trent Clark, Outfielder, Richland High School (TX)

16. New York Yankees- Austin Riley, Third Baseman, DeSoto County School District HS (MS): The Braves got a steal with Riley at where they selected him in the Competitive Balance Round. Riley is the third baseman of the future for the Braves and he probably would have been trade bait for the Yanks considering how much depth they have in their minor league system.
Actual Pick: James Kaprellian, Pitcher, UCLA

17. Cleveland Indians- Ryan Mountcastle, Third Baseman, Hagerty High School (FL): Mountcastle
proven to be a steal at where the O's selected him in the Compensatory Round. Mountcastle is a shortstop by trade, but is the Orioles third baseman of the future.
Actual Pick: Brady Aiken, Pitcher, IMG Academy (FL)

18. San Francisco Giants- Carson Fuller, Pitcher, Vanderbilt: The Giants take a chance with Fuller here as he drops as they hope for a steal here. Fuller hasn't done much at The Show thus far, but he still is young and has room to grow as a pitcher.
Actual Pick: Phil Bickford, Pitcher, College of Southern Nevada

19. Pittsburgh Pirates- Dillon Tate, Pitcher, UC Santa Barbara: The Pirates take a chance with Tate, who drops in the re-draft and hope for a steal. Tate had some injury issues in the past and the Rangers shipped him to the Yankees for Carlos Beltran two seasons ago. His ceiling could be a mid-rotation
starter.
Actual Pick: Kevin Newman, Shortstop, Arizona

20. Oakland Athletics- James Kaprellian, Pitcher, UCLA: Ironically, the A's take one of the guys they got in return for Sonny Gray in Kaprellian. He is coming off Tommy John surgery and has a ceiling
of a front-line starters.
Actual Pick: Richie Martin, Shortstop, Florida

21. Kansas City Royals- Koda Glover, Pitcher, Oklahoma State: The Nats got a massive steal at where they got Glover in the eighth round. Glover has shown some flashes with the Nats and could be a really good reliever some day, despite the fact he's injured right now.
Actual Pick: Ashe Russell, Pitcher, Cathedral High School (IN)

22. Detroit Tigers- Harrison Bader, Outfielder, Florida: Bader has proven to be a steal at where the Cards selected him in the third round. Bader has shown flashes at times in the bigs and the question is whether he's a long term piece for them or is he trade bait?
Actual Pick: Beau Burrows, Pitchers, Weatherford High School (TX)

23. St. Louis Cardinals- Andrew Suarez, Pitcher, Miami: The Giants found a possible second round steal in Suarez. He made his big league debut last week although he didn't pitch very well, but he has upside and the Giants view him as a long term piece for them.
Actual Pick: Nick Plummer, Outfielder, Brother Rice High School (MI)

24. Los Angeles Dodgers- Daz Cameron, Outfielder, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (GA): The Astros snagged a steal in the Competitive Balance Round with Cameron. He was packaged to Detroit in the deal for Justin Verlander and he could be apart of the Tigers long term future.
Actual Pick: Walker Buehler, Pitcher, Vanderbilt

25. Baltimore Orioles- Brady Aiken, Pitcher, IMG Academy (FL): The O's take a chance here with Aiken, who drops in the re-draft as they hope for a steal. Aiken has not lived up to expectations and part of that is due to injuries, but he still has room to grow as a pitcher with the upside he has.
Actual Pick: DJ Stewart, Outfielder, Florida

26. Los Angeles Angels- Josh Naylor, First Baseman, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School (Ontario): Naylor was thought by many to be a reach when the Marlins picked him and they ended up shipping him to the Padres, but this kid can flat out rake. Naylor might not be in the Padres future plans as Eric Hosmer clogs up first base, so maybe he's trade bait?
Actual Pick: Taylor Ward, Catcher, Fresno State

2015 NHL Re-Draft

Here I'm going to re-draft the First Round of the 2015 NHL Draft. How many picks will be the same? How many picks will be different?

1. Edmonton Oilers- Connor McDavid, Center, Erie Otters (OHL): No due-over here as the Oilers take their man in McDavid. He's the best player in the league already and has a Hart Trophy under his belt and he'll have many more of those throughout what should be a Hall of Fame career.
Actual Pick: McDavid

2. Buffalo Sabres- Jack Eichel, Center, Boston University: No due-over here either as the Sabres take their guy in Eichel. He hasn't been healthy for parts of his young career, but still has the upside and ability to be a franchise player.
Actual Pick: Eichel

3. Arizona Coyotes- Mathew Barzal, Center, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL): The Coyotes take Barzal here in the re-draft as he's emerged as one of the steals of this draft where the Isles took him. Barzal is the runaway favorite for the Calder Trophy as he put up gaudy numbers as a rookie.
Actual PickDylan Strome, Center, Erie Otters (OHL)

4. Toronto Maple Leafs- Zach Werenski, Defenseman, Michigan: The Leafs take Werenski here to improve their defense. Werenski is emerging as one of the defensive players in this league and will be on the Jackets top pairing with Seth Jones for years to come.
Actual PickMitch Marner, Wing, London Knights (OHL)

5. Carolina Hurricanes- Noah Hanifin, Defenseman, Boston College: No due-over here as the Canes take their guy in Hanafin, who has room to grow as a player. He made the All-Star team this year and he will be a top pair guy for years to come.
Actual Pick: Hanifin

6. New York Devils- Mikko Rantanen, Wing, TPS Turku (Finland): Rantanen proven to be a steal at where the Avs selected him. Rantanen put up gaudy numbers playing alongside Nathan MacKinnon and imagine how much of a weapon he'd by in the Devils offense alongside Taylor Hall?
Actual Pick: Pavel Zacha, Center, Sarnia Sting (OHL)

7. Philadelphia Flyers- Mitch Marner, Wing, London Knights (OHL): Marner drops to 7 in the re-draft as the Flyers would get a steal. Marner has been a big part of the Maple Leafs success the last two seasons playing alongside Auston Matthews and William Nylander.
Actual Pick: Ivan Provorov, Defenseman, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)

8. Columbus Blue Jackets- Ivan Provorov, Defenseman, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL): With Werenski off the board, the Jackets take Provorov to improve their blue-line. Provorov has been a big part of the Flyers success this season and will be key for them going forward.
Actual PickZach Werenski, Defenseman, Michigan

9. San Jose Sharks- Brock Boeser, Wing, Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL): Boeser proved to be a steal at where the Canucks selected him. Boeser should be a finalist for the Calder Trophy and he would be a nice fit in the Sharks top six too.
Actual PickTimo Meier, Wing, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

10. Colorado Avalanche- Sebastian Aho, Wing, Karpat (Liiga): With Rantanen off the board, the Avs take Aho, who proved to be a monster steal at where the Canes selected him in the second round. Aho will be a top six forward for years to come and he would have fit nicely with the Avs.
Actual Pick: Mikko Rantanen, Wing, TPS Turku (Finland)

11. Florida Panthers- Kyle Connor, Wing, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL): Connor proved to be a steal at where the Jets selected him. The Panthers take Connor here to add to their young offensive core and would nicely fit into their top six.
Actual PickLawson Crouse, Wing, Kingston Frontenacs (OHL)

12. Dallas Stars- Colin White, Center, USA NTDP (USHL): White hasn't played up to potential and injuries are a huge reason why. White still has a chance to be a top six guy and he would have been a solid choice here for the Stars.
Actual PickDenis Guryanov, Wing, Lada Togliatti (KHL)

13. Boston Bruins (from Los Angeles Kings)- Travis Konecny, Center, Ottawa 67’s (OHL): Konency proven to be a steal at where the Flyers selected him. Konency helped the Flyers make the playoffs this season and would have been either trade bait or a third line guy for the Bruins.
Actual PickJakub Zboril, Defenseman, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)

14. Boston Bruins- Jake DeBrusk, Wing, Swift Current (WHL): No due-over here as the B's take DeBrusk to get themselves another young asset. DeBrusk has helped the Bruins this season and I'm interested to see if he's apart of their long term future or not due to all their young assets they have and they cannot keep everybody.
Actual Pick: DeBrusk

15. Boston Bruins (from Calgary Flames)- Thomas Chabot, Defenseman, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL): The Sens snagged a probable steal with Chabot at where they selected him. His upside is a top pairing defenseman and a future Bruins top pairing of Chabot and Charlie McAvoy would have been enticing.
Actual PickZachary Senyshyn, Wing, Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

16. New York Islanders (from Pittsburgh Penguins via Edmonton Oilers)- Timo Meier, Wing, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL): With Barzal off the board, the Isles take another forward in Meier, who could have fit nicely with the Isles too. Meier has room to grow as a player and has contributed for the Sharks this season.
Actual Pick: Mathew Barzal, Center, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)

17. Winnipeg Jets- Anthony Beauvillier, Wing, Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL): Beauvillier proved to be a steal where the Isles selected him. Beauvillier was productive for the Isles this season and will be a piece for them going forward.
Actual Pick: Kyle Connor, Center/Wing, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)

18. Ottawa Senators- Dylan Strome, Center, Erie Otters (OHL): With Chabot off the board, the Sens go offense and take Strome to bet on his upside and potential. He hasn't really panned out thus far, but he still has room to grow as a player.
Actual Pick: Thomas Chabot, Defenseman, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)

19. Detroit Red Wings- Nick Merkley, Wing, Kelowna (WHL): Merkley proved to be a bit of a steal at where the Coyotes picked him. He's probably a long term piece for them going forward and would have been a nice fit in the Red Wings rebuild too.
Actual Pick: Evgeny Svechnikov, Wing, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL)

20. Minnesota Wild- Jakub Zboril, Defenseman, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL): Zobril drops a few spots in the re-draft as the Wild take him here. Zbroil will probably slide into the Bruins top four
someday and he would have been a nice depth piece here for the Wild.
Actual PickJoel Eriksson EK, Center, Farjestad BK (Sweden)

21. Ottawa Senators (from New York Islanders via Buffalo Sabres)- Jack Roslovic, Center, USA NTDP (USHL): With White off the board, the Sens take another US center from the Development Team. Roslovic has done a nice job for the Jets and should be in their long term plans and he would have fit fine in Ottawa too.
Actual PickColin White, Center, USA NTDP (USHL)

22. Washington Capitals- Pavel Zacha, Center, Sarnia Sting (OHL): Zacha drops to the Caps hoping they'd get a steal. He hasn't produced very much for the Devils the last few seasons, but he still is young and has room to grow as a player.
Actual PickIlya Samsonov, Goalie, Metallurk (KHL)

23. Vancouver Canucks- Zachary Senyshyn, Wing, Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): With Boeser off the board, the Canucks take another young winger in Senyshyn. It remains to be seen whether Senyshyn is apart of the Bruins long term plans considering their slew of great young players. Senyshyn would have been a nice fit in Vancouver.
Actual PickBrock Boeser, Wing, Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL)

24. Philadelphia Flyers (from Nashville Predators via Toronto Maple Leafs)- Denis Guryanov, Wing, Lada Togliatti (KHL): With Konecny off the board, the Flyers take another young forward in Guryanov. He's only played in one NHL game thus far in this career and it's taking longer than expected for Guryanov to make a contribution.
Actual PickTravis Konecny, Center, Ottawa 67’s (OHL)

25. Winnipeg Jets (from St. Louis Blues from Buffalo Sabres)- Joel Eriksson EK, Center, Farjestad BK (Sweden): With Roslovic off the board, the Jets take another young center in Eriksson. He's
contributed for the Wild this season and probably will have a larger role next season.
Actual PickJack Roslovic, Center, USA NTDP (USHL)

26. Montreal Canadiens- Lawson Crouse, Wing, Kingston Frontenacs (OHL): The Habs take a chance here with Crouse instead of going with a defenseman. Crouse has underwhelmed and he was traded from the Panthers to the Coyotes so it should be interesting to see how he pans out.
Actual PickNoah Juulsen, Defenseman, Everett Silvertips (WHL)

27. Anaheim Ducks- Noah Juulsen, Defenseman, Everett Silvertips (WHL): The Ducks take Juulsen to strengthen their defense depth. Juulsen showed some promise with the Habs this past season and should be a part of their long term future.
Actual PickJacob Larsson, Defenseman, Frolunda HC (Sweden Jr)

28. New York Islanders (from New York Rangers via Tampa Bay Lightning)- Ilya Samsonov, Goalie, Metallurk (KHL): The Islanders take their possible future franchise goalie in Samsonov here in the re-draft. He's put up really good numbers in the junior leagues and does Washington look at him as a future replacement for Brayden Holtby or trade bait?
Actual PickAnthony Beauvillier, Wing, Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL)

29. Columbus Blue Jackets (from Tampa Bay Lightning via Philadelphia Flyers)- Jacob Larsson, Defenseman, Frolunda HC (Sweden Jr): The Jackets keep adding to their defense with selecting Larsson here. He saw some action with the Ducks in the past and I figure he's apart of their future too.
Actual Pick: Gabriel Carlsson, Defenseman, Linköpings HC (SHL)

30. Arizona Coyotes (from Chicago Blackhawks)- Gabriel Carlsson, Defenseman, Linköpings HC (SHL): With Merkley off the board, the Coyotes go defense and pick Carlsson. He's has shown some promise in limited NHL action and I think he'll be a long term piece for the Jackets going forward.
Actual Pick: Nick Merkley, Wing, Kelowna (WHL)

2018 NFL Mock Draft: Eighth Edition

Rosen is perhaps the safest bet in this draft (in terms of quarterbacks) due to his accuracy and refined throwing mechanics.

6. Indianapolis Colts (from New York Jets)- Quenton Nelson, Guard, Notre Dame: The most important thing for the Colts going forward is keeping Andrew Luck healthy. A good start is a better offensive line and why not pick the best offensive lineman in this draft? Nelson seems like a sure thing and worthy of a top-ten pick and could go as high as fourth overall.

8. Chicago Bears- Tremaine Edmunds, Linebacker, Virginia Tech: Edmunds's stock has risen recently and this would be a solid pick for the Bears, who need playmakers on defense. Edmunds will only be twenty years old once the season gets going and he will give the Bears defense another look.

9. San Francisco 49ers- Roquan Smith, Linebacker, Georgia: With Reuben Foster's future with the team suddenly in doubt after his arrest, the Niners almost have to take a linebacker here if either Smith or Edmunds is available. Smith brings speed and athleticism to the field and that's good for a young defense.

11. Miami Dolphins- Derwin James, Strong Safety, Florida State: Perhaps the best defensive playmaker in the draft, James is the new NFL prototype as a safety capable of producing against the run or in both man and zone coverage. Florida State also used him as a pure edge rusher, where he regularly pressured the quarterback.

12. Buffalo Bills (from Cincinnati Bengals)- Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame: After the trading of Cody Glenn, the Bills have a need on the offensive line. McGlinchey isn't that strong, but he's athletic and brings stability.

13. Washington Redskins- Vita Vea, Denfensive Tackle, Washington: Vea, a massive presence in the middle of a defensive line, will go a long way toward fixing that deficiency, while also providing enough quickness to penetrate into the backfield on some third downs. He also has quick feet and good movement skill for a big defensive lineman.

15. Arizona Cardinals- Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville: The Cards are another trade up candidate, but here I have them selecting Jackson, who's a good decision maker and passer. The Cards know that Mike Glennon and Sam Bradford are not the long-term answers and Jackson would in theory be in a red-shirt situation here and a long-term foundation of Jackson and David Johnson is tough to pass up on.

17. Los Angeles Chargers- Leighton Vander Esch, Linebacker, Boise State: Vander Esch is rising up many peoples mocks drafts of late. He's a stellar athlete that could patrol sideline to sideline as the Chargers’ three-man line in front of him eats up blockers.

18. Seattle Seahawks- Marcus Davenport, Defensive End, UTSA: The Seahawks lost so many of their key pieces of their defensive line lately which makes Davenport a nice selection here. He is athletic, moves very well, and has physicality, which Pete Carroll would like.

20. Detroit Lions- Maurice Hurst, Defensive Tackle, Michigan: Hurst had a heart condition at the combine and that shouldn't drop him out of the first round. Hurst doesn't have the size that teams are generally looking for in an interior defensive lineman, but his quickness more than makes up for that deficiency and makes him in particular a great threat rushing the passer on third downs.

21. Cincinnati Bengals (from Buffalo Bills)- James Daniels, Center, Iowa: Daniels is trending up many peoples mock boards and a ton of people have Daniels linked to Cincinnati. He's a good athlete and good technician for a center.

22. Buffalo Bills (from Kansas City Chiefs)- Mason Rudolph, Quarterback, Oklahoma State: The Bills are a strong candidate to trade up for a quarterback, but I don't do trades in my mock drafts so here I have them selecting Rudolph. He's an experienced pocket passer with nice downfield touch.

25. Tennessee Titans- Harold Landry, Linebacker, Boston College: Landry is all over the map in terms of where people have him mocked in these mock drafts. Landry didn't have a great final season in college, but has the tools to be a solid pro.

26. Atlanta Falcons- Taven Bryan, Defensive End, Florida: The Falcons don't have any major needs, but bolstering the defensive line could be necessary if Dontari Poe leaves in free agency.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars- Isaiah Wynn, Guard, Georgia: Wynn would bring another nice upgrade to a Jags offensive line to take pressure off Blake Bortles and Leonard Fournette. can play tackle if needed but will succeed as a guard instantly. He plays with outstanding leverage and has the athleticism to mirror pass-rushers.

30. Minnesota Vikings- Connor Williams, Offensive Tackle/Guard, Texas: The Vikes have options here, so they take Williams to improve their offensive line. Williams provides versatility and would start at one of the tackle spots on this Vikings team.

31. New England Patriots- Josh Jackson, Cornerback, Iowa: Jackson's stock is dropping and the Pats could land a steal here with a guy that led the FBS in interceptions last year. Jackson has size and speed and would be a nice fit in the Pats secondary with Malcolm Butler gone.

2015 NFL Re-Draft

Here I'm going to re-draft the First Round of the 2015 NFL Draft. How many picks will be the same? How many picks will be different?

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Marcus Mariota, Quarterback, Oregon: Tough call between Mariota and Jameis Winston, but the Bucs take the safer bet in Mariota this time around. Although, Winston has made a Pro-Bowl appearance and Mariota has struggled at times, Mariota is poised to break out in 2018 in a new offense.
Actual Pick: Jameis Winston, Quarterback, Florida State

2. Tennessee Titans- Jameis Winston, Quarterback, Florida State: The Titans take Winston here with Mariota off the board. Winston has a higher ceiling than Mariota although Mariota has the higher floor and the Titans would still get a franchise guy.
Actual Pick: Marcus Mariota, Quarterback, Oregon

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Brandon Scherff, Offensive Tackle, Iowa: The Jags go with Scherff here to improve their offensive line. Scherff has been one of the more underrated tackles in the league and has made the last two Pro-Bowls and will be paid by the Redskins next year.
Actual PickDante Fowler Jr., Defensive End, Florida

4. Oakland Raiders- Vic Beasley, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Clemson: Beasley is one of the more underrated pass rushers in this league and he led the league in sacks in 2016 and has been in the Pro-Bowl. Imagine Khalil Mack and Beasley on the same defensive line?
Actual Pick: Amari Cooper, Wide Receiver, Alabama

5. Washington Redskins- Todd Gurley, Running Back, Georgia: Gurley is arguably the leagues best running back right now and he was phenomenal last season. If Gurley was on the Redskins, it probably would have made Kirk Cousins look better and perhaps he could have been traded instead
of let go.
Actual Pick: Brandon Scherff, Offensive Tackle, Iowa

6. New York Jets- Leonard Williams, Defensive End, USC: No due-over here as the Jets take their guy in Williams, who's the best defensive lineman on the Jets roster right now. Williams didn't have a great year last year, but made the Pro Bowl in 2016. I think he's closer to the guy that made the Pro Bowl rather than the guy that wasn't great last year.
Actual Pick: Williams

7. Chicago Bears- Amari Cooper, Wide Receiver, Alabama: The Bears take Cooper here to be their number one receiver. Cooper has had his moments with the Raiders, but he still projects to be a very good receiver in this league.
Actual Pick: Kevin White, Wide Receiver, West Virginia

8. Atlanta Falcons- Landon Collins, Safety, Alabama: The Giants got a steal where they selected Collins in the second round. Collins made the last two Pro Bowls and he's arguably the best safety in the league.
Actual Pick: Vic Beasley, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Clemson

9. New York Giants- David Johnson, Running Back, Northern Iowa: The Cardinals got a steal where they selected Johnson in the first round. Johnson can do it all and made the Pro Bowl in 2016. Imagine Johnson and Odell Beckham Jr in the same offense with a good offensive line behind Johnson? That would prolong Eli Manning's career even longer.
Actual Pick: Ereck Fowlers, Offensive Tackle, Miami

10. Los Angeles Rams- Melvin Gordon, Running Back, Wisconsin: With Gurley off the board, the Rams take Gordon to be their lead running back. Gordon is pretty much a poor mans Gurley, but he
isn't relied on in the Chargers offense like Gurleu is in the Rams offense.
Actual Pick: Todd Gurley, Running Back, Georgia

11. Minnesota Vikings- Jay Ajayi, Running Back, Boise State: The Dolphins got a steal with Ajayi at where they selected him in the fifth round. Ajayi made the Pro Bowl in 2016 and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl last season.
Actual PickTrae Waynes, Cornerback, Michigan State

12. Cleveland Browns- Nelson Agholor, Wide Receiver, USC: Agholor has been a little inconsistent on the Eagles and has had some injuries as well. Agholor was a big part of the Eagles Super Bowl run a season ago and when healthy, is pretty productive.
Actual Pick: Danny Shelton, Defensive Tackle, Washington

13. New Orleans Saints- Ronald Darby, Cornerback, Florida State: Darby is a pretty solid pro as he was a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate as a rookie. He certainly helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl and would have been a nice fit in the young Saints defense.
Actual Pick: Andrus Peat, Offensive Tackle, Auburn

14. Miami Dolphins- Tyler Lockett, Wide Receiver, Kansas State: The Seahawks got a steal in Lockett at where they selected him in the third round. He made the Pro Bowl as a rookie in 2015 and made either the first or second All-Pro team in each of his first three seasons.
Actual Pick: DeVante Parker, Wide Receiver, Louisville

15. Los Angeles Chargers (from San Francisco 49ers)- K'Won Alexander, Linebacker, LSU: Alexander proven to be a steal at where the Bucs selected him in the fourth round. Alexander made the Pro Bowl last season and would have fit nicely in the Chargers defense.
Actual Pick: Melvin Gordon, Running Back, Wisconsin

16. Houston Texans- Marcus Peters, Cornerback, Washington: Peters was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2015 and made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons as well as one of the two All Pro teams. Peters had a tumultuous year last season and than the Chiefs traded him to the Rams. I bet we see the player from the first two seasons rather than last year next season on the Rams and Peters would have fit nicely on the Texans as well.
Actual PickKevin Johnson, Cornerback, Florida State

17. San Francisco 49ers (from Los Angeles Chargers)- Damarious Randall, Safety, Arizona State: Randall was pretty solid for the Packers the last few seasons before they traded him to the Browns. Randall will help the Browns secondary and he certainly would have been a nice fit in the Niners secondary.
Actual Pick: Arik Armstead, Defensive Tackle, Oregon

18. Kansas City Chiefs- Stefon Diggs, Wide Receiver, Maryland: Diggs has proven to be a steal at where the Vikings selected him in the third round. Diggs is going to go down for making one of the greatest game ending plays in NFL Playoff history with that crazy game winning touchdown against the Saints. Diggs would have been a nice weapon for Pat Mahomes in Kansas City too.
Actual Pick: Marcus Peters, Cornerback, Washington

19. Cleveland Browns (from Buffalo Bills)- Daryl Williams, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma: Williams proven to be a steal at where the Panthers selected him in the fourth round. Williams made the All Pro second team last season after having a breakthrough season and he would have been a nice fit on the Browns offensive line.
Actual Pick: Cameron Irving, Offensive Tackle/Center, Florida State

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Donovan Smith, Offensive Tackle, Penn State: Smith proved to be a bit of a
steal at where the Bucs selected him in the second round. Smith has started every game he's played in throughout his career and has done a nice job protecting Jameis Winston these last three seasons.
Actual Pick: Nelson Agholor, Wide Receiver, USC

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Mitch Morse, Guard, Missouri: Morse is one of the more underrated guards in the league as he's done a nice job protecting Alex Smith the last few seasons. Morse missed time last season due to a foot injury. He would have made the Bengals offensive line better too.
Actual PickCedric Ogbuehi, Offensive Tackle, Texas A&M

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- Malcom Brown, Defensive Tackle, Texas: Brown has been solid for the Pats the last few seasons and he is one of the few younger guys on their defense that has shown their potential. Brown would have been a nice replacement for James Harrison on the Steelers D-line too.
Actual Pick: Bud Dupree, Outside Linebacker, Kentucky

23. Denver Broncos (from Detroit Lions)- Eddie Goldman, Defensive Tackle, Florida State: Goldman has been solid in three seasons with the Bears and will be a piece for them going forward as he has room to grow as a player. Goldman would have been a nice fit on the Broncos defensive line.
Actual Pick: Shane Ray, Defensive End, Missouri

24. Arizona Cardinals- Rob Havenstein, Offensive Tackle, Wisconsin: Havenstein proved to be a nit of a steal at where the Rams selected him in the second round. Havenstein did a nice job helping protect Jared Goff and he would have been a nice fit on the Cards O-line as well.
Actual Pick: DJ Humphries, Offensive Tackle, Florida

25. Carolina Panthers- Stephone Anthony, Linebacker, Clemson: The Panthers take Anthony here in
the re-draft to add depth to their linebacking core. Anthony has been solid for the Saints and is a part of their new defensive core.
Actual Pick: Shaq Thompson, Outside Linebacker, Washington

26. Baltimore Ravens- DeVante Parker, Wide Receiver, Louisville: Parker has had his moments on the Dolphins throughout the last few seasons and I believe he has room to grow as a player. Parker would have been a nice fit on this Ravens team that lacks that young big threat receiver.
Actual Pick: Breshad Perriman, Wide Receiver, UCF

27. Dallas Cowboys- Eric Kendricks, Inside Linebacker, UCLA: Kendricks proved to be a steal at where the Vikings selected him in the second round. He just received a well deserved contract extension by the team and is a big part of Mike Zimmer's defense.
Actual Pick: Byron Jones, Cornerback, Connecticut

28. Detroit Lions (from Denver Broncos)- Ali Marpet, Guard, Hobart: Marpet was a bit of an unknown coming into the draft and has proven to be a steal at where the Bucs selected him in the second round. He's a keeper on the Bucs offensive line and he would have been a nice fit on the Lions.
Actual Pick: Laken Tomlinson, Guard, Duke

29. Indianapolis Colts- Danielle Hunter, Defensive End, LSU: Hunter proven to be a steal at where the Vikes selected him in the third round. Hunter is very underrated on that loaded defense and the Colts need a ton of talent on their roster and Hunter would be a nice fit on the defensive line.
Actual Pick: Phillip Dorsett, Wide Receiver, Miami

30. Green Bay Packers- Adrian Amos, Safety, Penn State: With Randall off the board, the Packers take Amos, who proved to be a steal at where the Bears selected him in the fifth round. Amos is a part of the Bears present and future as he was named to Pro Football Focus's All-Pro team a season ago.
Actual Pick: Damarious Randall, Safety, Arizona State

31. New Orleans Saints (from Seattle Seahawks)- Cameron Erving, Center/Offensive Tackle, Florida State: With Anthony off the board, the Saints take Erving to bolster their offensive line. Erving has versatility and he's shown that with the Browns.
Actual Pick: Stephone Anthony, Linebacker, Clemson

32. New England Patriots- Tevin Coleman, Running Back, Indiana: Coleman proved to be a steal at where the Falcons picked him in the third round. He's an overqualified backup on the Falcons roster behind DeVonta Freeman and maybe he'd be starting on the Pats.
Actual Pick: Malcolm Brown, Defensive Tackle, Texas

2018 NBA Mock Draft: Second Edition

Here is the first edition of my 2018 NBA Mock Draft. FWIW: We won't know the draft order until after the Draft Lottery.

1. Phoenix Suns- DeAndre Ayton, Center, Arizona: Ayton is perhaps the drafts best prospect due to his size, soft touch at the rim, and his promising jump shot. He's drawn comparisons to Joel Embiid and Patrick Ewing and the Suns, who don't really have a long term true center, won't want to pass on him.

2. Memphis Grizzlies- Luka Doncic, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Real Madrid: Doncic will be the most proven player in the draft due to his success overseas. Doncic is an ideal fit for the perimeter-oriented league and should have a long, productive NBA career. The Grizzlies need youth on the perimeter and it's only a matter if Doncic becomes a star or not.

3. Dallas Mavericks- Marvin Bagley, Power Forward/Center, Duke: This would be an intriguing fit for many reasons. Bagley was perhaps the best player in college basketball this past season and has great athleticism and can shoot it from three. He would be their long term replacement for Dirk Nowitzki and Bagley has franchise player potential.

4. Atlanta Hawks- Mohamed Bomba, Center, Texas: Bomba doesn't have much of an offensive game, but his defensive presence with his height and shot blocking should appeal to any team. Bomba's fit on the Hawks would be interesting because they have John Collins on their roster and do they play them together to does one of them come off the bench early on?

5. Orlando Magic- Trae Young, Point Guard, Oklahoma: This maybe a reach, but the Magic have a need at point guard after the trading of Elfrid Payton and they already have a lot of bigs on their roster. Young is very polarizing because of how his season went and how defenses started figuring him out in conference play. That said, he has a Steph Curry type of ceiling and the Magic wouldn't pass on it.

6. Sacramento Kings- Michael Porter Jr, Small Forward/Power Forward, Missouri: Although Porter barely played college basketball, he's still worth picking here at 5. Porter has great offensive-skill sets and a good three-point range, but questions range about his mobility. The Kings need combo forwards with potential and Porter is worth the risk.

7. Chicago Bulls- Jaren Jackson Jr, Power Forward/Center, Michigan State: Jackson is a bit of a wild card in this lottery portion of the draft considering he exceeded expectations as a freshman in college and played his way to this position. Although he struggled in the Big Dance, his rim protecting as well as his perimeter game were excellent.

8. Cleveland Cavaliers (from Brooklyn Nets via Boston Celtics)- Wendel Carter Jr, Power Forward/Center, Duke: The Cavs can go multiple directions with this pick, but lets slate Carter in this spot. Carter is very overshadowed on the Blue Devils due to his teammates, but his defense is excellent and he provides spacing on the floor. Carter could possibly replace Kevin Love if they decide to move on from him.

9. New York Knicks- Collin Sexton, Point Guard, Alabama: Let the Sexton versus Trae Young debate begin! I have Sexton going here due to his athleticism and his ability to get to the basket. That is something the Knicks have lacked for years now and Sexton is the safer bet here.

10. Philadelphia 76ers (from Los Angeles Lakers via Phoenix Suns)- Mikal Bridges, Small Forward, Villanova: Bridges took a massive leap this year for the Wildcats. Due to his three-and-D capability, Birdges is one of the drafts safest bets. The Sixers would be a nice landing spot for him as he can begin off the bench and can eventually start.

11. Charlotte Hornets- Miles Bridges, Small Forward, Michigan State: Although, Bridges might end up becoming a small ball power forward in the future due to his average ball handling, he is a great shooter on the wing and provides great athleticism. Bridges would be a nice fit on this rebuilding Hornet team as they can view him as a building block.

12. Los Angeles Clippers (from Detroit Pistons)- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Point Guard/Shooting Guard, Kentucky: Gilgeous-Alexander's stock is trending up after he had a great season for the Wildcats. He has great size and finishing craft, defensive versatility, and maybe even quickness. Gilgeous-Alexander would be a nice piece for the Clippers going forward as they enter a rebuild.

13. Los Angeles Clippers- Robert Williams, Power Forward/Center, Texas A&M: Williams could have been a lottery pick last year, but decided to come back to school for one more season. Williams isn't known for his offense, but he's great at rebounding and defending the rim. He could be a poor mans D'Andre Jordan.

14. Denver Nuggets- Kevin Knox, Small Forward, Hornets: Knox hasn't been as consistent as a shooter as the Wildcats hoped, but he still projects as a solid defender and can rebound very well. If he develops a shot, he could end up as the small forward of the future for the Nuggets.

15. Washington Wizards- Mitchell Robinson, Center, Chalmette High School (LA): This pick would be considered a reach. Robinson had a year off from competitive basketball and has no experience beyond high school. Robinson provides athleticism and shot-blocking, which will intrigue teams although there are questions about what else he can provide.

16. Phoenix Suns (from Milwaukee Bucks)- Lonnie Walker, Shooting Guard, Miami: Walker didn't have the greatest freshman season due to coming off his meniscus tear, which provides an interesting case for him to return to Miami for his sophomore season. That said, Walker is worth taking in this spot due to his pure talent and potential.

17. Phoenix Suns (from Miami Heat)- Troy Brown, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Oregon: Brown is an interesting prospect considering that he had a solid season at Oregon, but has a reputation of disappearing in games. Brown's size and ball-handling ability is what makes him worth a selection at this spot.

18. San Antonio Spurs- Dzanan Musa, Small Forward, Cedevita: Musa is an intriguing international prospect that is motivated to play in the NBA. Musa is a great scorer on the wing and his play making skills are improving. The Spurs love international prospects so this pick makes a lot of sense.

19. Atlanta Hawks (from Minnesota Timberwolves)- Zhaire Smith, Shooting Guard, Texas Tech: Smith went from a three-star recruit to a likely first-round pick thanks to elite athleticism and ultra aggressive two-way play at Texas Tech. His freshman season was full of highlight reel plays, with tip-dunks and chasedown blocks becoming nightly occurrences.

20. Indiana Pacers- Anfernee Simons, Point Guard/Shooting Guard, IMG Academy: Simons is a bit undersized for a shooting guard, which makes him a bit of a project, but he can attack the basket and has a decent shot, but must develop on the defensive end. Darren Collison isn't the long term answer at point guard so the Pacers take a chance here with Simons.

21. Minnesota Timberwolves (from Oklahoma City Thunder)- Kieta Bates-Diop, Power Forward, Ohio State: Bates-Diop had an outstanding junior collegiate season. What hurts Bates-Diop is his lack of athleticism, but his season cannot be ignored due to his outstanding shooting and providing match-up problems for the opposition.

22. Chicago Bulls (from New Orleans Pelicans)- Jacob Evans, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Cincinnati: Evans's upside is limited though because he's an erratic shooter and isn't aggressive at the rim. His defense is his strength and he can guard both wing positions very well.

23. Utah Jazz- Aaron Holiday, Point Guard, UCLA: Holiday is another one of my sleepers. Holiday is a great scorer and shooter (especially from distance), can hold his own defensively, but he isn't great at getting in the paint. He would be a nice backup point guard on the right team.

24. Portland Trail Blazers- Caleb Martin, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Nevada: Martin's stock is trending up as he had a great Big Dance. Martin is versatile and he provides scoring and great shooting. He is one of my sleepers this year and he could be a steal if picked in the late first round.

25. Los Angeles Lakers (from Cleveland Cavaliers)- Jontay Porter, Center, Missouri: Porter quietly bursted on to the scene as a freshman in light of his brother and his bride college career. Porter is great all around with his rebounding and passing and can shoot it from three. Could be a poor mans Nikola Jokic.

26. Philadelphia 76ers- Khyri Thomas, Shooting Guard, Creighton: Thomas is interesting because he doesn't have much upside. What Thomas does have though, is a two-way presence with is great shooting and perimeter defending. This pick would be a solid one for the Sixers considering that JJ Redick might leave in free agency this summer.

27. Boston Celtics- Moritz Wagner, Power Forward, Michigan: Wagner's stock is trending upwards after a great NCAA Tournament. He displays a nice shooting stroke, although his release is slow. He is a very good 3-point shooter as this makes him a very tough cover for opposing defenders.

28. Golden State Warriors- De'Anthony Melton, Shooting Guard, USC: Melton was held out the entire season by USC following the program’s role in the FBI investigation. What the Trojans missed was a bulldog defender and a skilled passer who found ways to impact the game even without a dependable jump shot. He has a Swiss Army Knife-type of skill set that would fit well on any bench.

29. Brooklyn Nets (from Toronto Raptors)- Issac Bonga, Small Forward/Power Forward, Germany: Bonga is the age of some high school seniors, but he’s already essentially playing as a 6’9 point guard for his German pro team. Part of that is because he’s a poor shooter and scorer who doesn’t make much of an impact off the ball. Still, he has interesting tools and could be a good draft-and-stash option late in the first round.

30. Atlanta Hawks (from Houston Rockets)- Jalen Brunson, Point Guard, Villanova: Brunson's stock has risen due to a great NCAA Tournament. He’s not the biggest or most athletic point guard, but he’s a skilled scorer and a 40 percent three-point shooter who has a comprehensive understanding of the game. He should have a long career in the league.
