Here are my picks for week one of the 2016 College Football Season.
Friday, August 26th
California vs Hawaii; 10:00, ESPN: This should be an interesting game to open the season. It will be played in Sydney, Australia. Cal is expected to take a step back after the departure of Jared Goff, but they should still be able to beat Hawaii, who isn't good.
Pick: California

Appalachian State at (9) Tennessee; 7:30, SECN: Tenneseee better be ready because it wouldn't surprise me if this game is close late.
Pick: Tennessee
South Carolina at Vanderbilt; 8:00, ESPN: Derek Mason could very well be the SEC East's best quarterback when the season ends and I believe Mason will lead the Commodores to a win.

Pick: Colorado
Kansas State at (8) Stanford; 9:00, FS1: This should be an interesting week one matchup as well. It wouldn't be shocking if Bill Snyder's squad kept this close for a bit, but Stanford is the more superior team here led by Christian McCaffrey.
Pick: Stanford
Toledo at Arkansas State; 9:00, ESPNU: This should be a fun matchup between two decent Group Of 5 teams. The Red Wolves are home, so they should be able to get the win even though the Rockets can't be counted out.
Pick: Arkansas State
Cal Poly at Nevada; 9:30
Pick: Nevada
Saturday, September 3rd
Georgia Tech vs Boston College; 7:30, ESPN2: This game is being played in Dublin, Ireland. The Yellow Jackets are looking to bounce back from a disappointing season a year ago and same can be said for the Eagles. Give me the Jackets here, who are the more superior team here.
Pick: Georgia Tech
(3) Oklahoma vs (15) Houston; 12:00, ABC: This game is being played at NRG Stadium in Houston. This game will definitely have an impact on the College Football Playoff as well. The Cougars might have the home field advantage here, but I believe Baker Mayfield will lead the Sooners to a win here.

(16) UCLA at Texas A&M; 3:30, CBS: This is one of the more intriguing of the season's first week. Expect a lot of points to be scored in this one. I am tempted to pick Josh Rosen and the Bruins here, but College Station is going to be ruckus and I believe Trevor Knight leads A&M to a win here.
Pick: Texas A&M

Pick: Arkansas
UC Davis at (24) Oregon; 5:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Oregon
(18) Georgia vs (22) North Carolina; 5:30, ESPN: This should be a fun game in Atlanta. The Bulldogs are looking to have a good year in Kirby Smart's first season as coach. The Tar Heels are looking to follow up a division title with another one. I like Nick Chubb to lead the way for Smart's first win as a college football head coach.

Pick: Southern Miss
9/3- Massachusetts at (25) Florida; 7:30, SECN
Pick: Florida
9/3- (20) USC vs (1) Alabama; 8:00, ABC: This should be an interesting game down in Jerry World in Dallas. The defending champs should be ready here and I believe they'll win this one over Max Brown and the Trojans.
Pick: Alabama
Northern Iowa at Iowa State; 8:00
Pick: Iowa State
Fresno State at Nebraska; 8:00, BTN
Pick: Nebraska
Eastern Washington at Washington State; 8:00, Pac-12N

(2) Clemson at Auburn; 9:00, ESPN: This game should be very interesting. This game will be closer than the experts think, but DeShaun Watson finds away.

Pick: Arizona
Northern Illinois at Wyoming; 10:30, CBSSN

Northern Arizona at Arizona State; 10:45, Pac-12N
Pick: Arizona State
Sunday, September 4th
(10) Notre Dame at Texas; 7:30, ABC: You can make the case that this is the most intriguing game of the weekend. The Irish are dealing with in house turmoil with suspensions galore. Texas should be on the rise in the Big-12 led by freshman quarterback Shane Buechele. This is going to be a close game, but I like DeShone Kizer and the Irish to put the turmoil behind them and get the win on the road.
Pick: Notre Dame
Monday, September 5th
(11) Ole Miss vs (4) Florida State; 8:00, ESPN: This should be a great game in Orlando. This probably will be the best game of the weekend and they'll save it for last. This game will impact the College Football Playoff for sure. This wasn't an easy call, but give me Dalvin Cook and the Noles to come out on top because they'll have a bit of a homefield advantage.
Pick: Florida State
