Here are my award predictions for the 2016-17 NHL season.
Hart Trophy: Vladamir Tarasenko, St. Louis Blues: Tarasenko has been terrific the last few seasons and now is his time to get national recognition. He is the best player on one of the Western Conferences best teams and expect him to reach close to 100 points.
Runner up: Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins
Vezina Trophy: Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens: He's back, folks. Price will be motivated all season long after missing most of last season and he'll prove that he's still the leagues best net minder.
Runner up: Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals
Norris Trophy: Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning: Hedman has yet to win a Norris Trophy and this will finally be the year. It also helps that he plays on a Stanley Cup contender in the Bolts.
Runner up: PK Subban, Nashville Predators
Calder Trophy: Auston Matthews, Toronto Maple Leafs: Matthews will be the best rookie this season and there's a good chance he leads the Maple Leafs in scoring. He'll prove he belongs in the league immediately.
Runner up: Patrik Laine, Winnipeg Jets
Jack Adams Award: Todd McLellan, Edmonton Oilers: I believe the Oilers will be the leagues biggest surprise this season and McLellan will be credited for it. It certainly helps having Connor McDavid on your team, though.
Runner up: Peter Laviolette, Nashville Predators
Selke Trophy: Jonathan Toews, Chicago Blackhawks: Toews is still among the games best two-way centers. I believe he'll get his due.
Runner up: Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings
