2018-19 College Football Playoff: National Championship Prediction

Here is my pick for the 2018-19 College Football Playoff National Championship game.

(1) Alabama Crimson Tide vs (2) Clemson Tigers- 8:15, ESPN: Here we go! Fourth straight season these teams meet in post-season play and the third time in four years this meet in the National Championship game. The Tide are coming off a comfortable win in the Semi-final against the Oklahoma Sooners. The Tigers are coming off a dominant win in the Semi-final over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in which star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence served a one-game drug suspension for. Lawrence will be back for the Tigers as they'll try to slow down a much better offense in the Tide's led by Heisman runner up Tua Tagovailoa. As seen in the Orange Bowl, Kyler Murray was able to have success against a not so great Tide secondary and I think Trevor Lawrence can do the same with his weapons on offense. That said, I'm not sold on the Tigers secondary either and Tagovailoa is always great at getting guys open too. That said, I think Alabama wins a close one and repeats as champs in Santa Clara courtesy of Tagovailoa and the fact I think Nick Saban's defense can get a few more stops in what I think will be a shoutout. Roll Tide.

Prediction: Alabama 34, Clemson 30.

Offensive MVP: Tagovailoa

Defensive MVP: Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle
