Here are my picks for week eight of the 2017 NFL season.
Thursday, October 26th
Miami Dolphins (4-2) vs Baltimore Ravens (3-4)- 8:25, CBS/NFLN: Miami is coming off a come from behind divisional home win over the New York Jets in which Jay Cutler got hurt in and Matt Moore led the comeback. Baltimore is coming off a road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. The Ravens offense is a mess right now and sans injuries to some of their key receivers in Jeremy Maclin, Mike Wallace, Breshad Perriman, and running back Terrance West. Moore isn't actually a bad backup and he'll lead the Dolphins to their fourth straight wins against a depleted Raven team.
Prediction: Miami 23, Baltimore 16.
Sunday, October 29th
Minnesota Vikings (5-2) vs Cleveland Browns (0-7)- (London); 9:30, NFLN: Minnesota is coming off a home win over the Baltimore Ravens. Cleveland is coming off an overtime home loss against the Tennessee Titans. I don't care who's starting at quarterback for the Browns, the Vikings are a decent all around team and they'll get a comfortable win here going into their bye week.
Prediction: Minnesota 27, Cleveland 10.
Oakland Raiders (3-4) vs Buffalo Bills (4-2)- 1:00, CBS: Oakland is coming off a huge Thursday night divisional home win over the Kansas City Chiefs to perhaps save their season. Buffalo is coming off a home win over the disappointing Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Derek Carr is back in form
after suffering the back fracture and he'll lead the Raiders to a close win over an overachieving Bills team.
Prediction: Oakland 24, Buffalo 20.
Indianapolis Colts (2-5) vs Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)- 1:00, CBS: Indianapolis is coming off an awful shutout divisional home loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cincinnati is coming off a tough divisional road loss in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. The Colts offense is not good without Andrew Luck what so ever although Jacoby Brissett isn't that awful so give me the Bengals to have a field day against the bad Colts defense.
Prediction: Cincinnati 30, Indianapolis 10.
Los Angeles Chargers (3-4) vs New England Patriots (5-2)- 1:00, CBS: Los Angeles is coming off a divisional home win over the Denver Broncos. New England is coming off a Sunday night home win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Chargers have won three straight games and they deserve credit for it, but the Pats are just better and they'll get the win.
Prediction: New England 31, Los Angeles 21.
Chicago Bears (3-4) vs New Orleans Saints (4-2)- 1:00, FOX: Chicago is coming off a home win over the Carolina Panthers in which they scored 17 points and the two touchdowns were on defense and not on offense. New Orleans is coming off a road win at Lambeau against the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers. The Saints have been on a roll of late on both side of the ball and they'll win their fifth in a row here.
Prediction: New Orleans 34, Chicago 17.
Atlanta Falcons (3-3) vs New York Jets (3-4)- 1:00, CBS: Atlanta is coming off a rough Sunday night road loss in Foxboro against the Patriots in a Super Bowl rematch. New York is coming off a tough road loss in Miami against the Dolphins in which they had a two touchdown lead in. The Falcons need this game more than anything because their season could spiral if they lose this game.
Prediction: Atlanta 30, New York 20.
San Francisco 49ers (0-7) vs Philadelphia Eagles (6-1)- 1:00, FOX: San Francisco is coming off a blowout home loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia is coming off a big Monday night divisional home win over the Washington Redskins. The Eagles are just on a roll right now and because of that and the fact the Niners are one of the worst teams in football, the Eagles are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Philadelphia 34, San Francisco 13.
Carolina Panthers (4-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4)- 1:00, FOX: Carolina is coming off a dismal road loss in Chicago against the Bears. Tampa Bay is coming off a road loss in Orchard Park against the Bills. The loser of this games season might spiral badly and I think the team that is in danger here is the Bucs because I just feel the Panthers are the better team and will rebound from their poor showing in Chicago and plus I do not think Jameis Winston is 100% healthy.
Prediction: Carolina 20, Tampa Bay 17.
Houston Texans (3-3) vs Seattle Seahawks (4-2)- 4:05, CBS: Houston is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won convincingly over the Cleveland Browns. Seattle is coming off a road win in East Rutherford against the Giants. I believe this will be a close game and I like the Seahawks to pull it out thanks to the Twelfth Man.
Prediction: Seattle 23, Houston 20.
Dallas Cowboys (3-3) vs Washington Redskins (4-3)- 4:25, FOX: This should be a fun game to watch. Dallas is coming off a much needed road win in Santa Clara against the winless Niners. Washington is coming off a tough Monday night divisional road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles. Most of these NFC East contests are close and competitive and I believe this will be both of that and I like the Cowboys here to get above .500 and get a nice road win.
Prediction: Dallas 27, Washington 23.
Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) vs Detroit Lions (3-3)- 8:30, NBC: Pittsburgh is coming off a nice divisional home win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Detroit is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost in New Orleans against the Saints. The Steelers have looked like themselves the last few weeks and I believe that continues here on the road in primetime.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 30, Detroit 23.
Monday, October 30th
Denver Broncos (3-3) vs Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)- 8:30, ESPN: Denver is coming off a shutout divisional road loss in Los Angeles against the Chargers. Kansas City is coming off a Thursday night divisional road loss in Oakland against the Raiders. The Broncos have not been the same team the last few weeks and I like the Chiefs to rebound here at home in primetime.
Prediction: Kansas City 27, Denver 16.

Pick: Penn State
(3) Georgia (7-0; 4-0) vs Florida (3-3; 3-2) (Jacksonville); 3:30, CBS: The Gators have dipped quite a bit of late, but I believe they'll keep it close for a bit against a very good Bulldogs team.
Pick: Georgia
(4) TCU (7-0; 4-0) at (25) Iowa State (5-2; 3-1)- 3:30, ABC/ESPN2: This should be an interesting game. The Cyclones have been the Big 12's biggest surprise so far, but I don't think they'll beat the Horned Frogs, who look like the most complete team in the conference.
Pick: TCU
(14) NC State (6-1; 4-0) at (9) Notre Dame (6-1)- 3:30, NBC: Here's yet another College Football Playoff elimination game featuring the Irish. Pick: Notre Dame
UCLA (4-3; 2-2) at (12) Washington (6-1; 3-1)- 3:30, ABC/ESPN2: This will be a much closer game than people think because of Josh Rosen, but Jake Browning will throw all over the Bruin defense en route to a big win for the Huskies.

2017 World Series Prediction
Here is my prediction for the 2017 World Series.
(A2) Houston Astros vs (N1) Los Angeles Dodgers: There was a point in this season when most people thought this was going to be the matchup. And than the Indians went on an incredible run and the Dodgers had an awful September and than people through an Indians/Cubs rematch was a possibility, but nope, we have these two great teams. The Astros are coming off a tremendous seven game series win over the upstart New York Yankees. The Dodgers are coming off an impressive five game series win over the reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs. The Astros have a very good offense led by AL MVP favorite Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and George Springer. The Yankees pitching did a tremendous job shutting down the Astros offense in the previous round although the Astros offense came alive in the final two games. The Dodgers offense is really good too led by NL Rookie of the Year favorite Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, and Corey Seager, who is returning from a back injury. Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander lead the way for the Astros rotation and the likes of Charlie Morton and Lance McCullers Jr must step up like they did in Game 7. Clayton Kershaw, Yu Darvish, Rich Hill, and Alex Wood lead the way for the Dodgers great rotation. The Astros bullpen was problematic against the Yankees and guys like Ken Giles, Chris Divenski, Brad Peacock, and Will Harris have to step up. Don't rule out McCullers or one of the other starters coming out of the pen later on in the series if necessary. The Dodgers bullpen is very good led by Kenley Jansen, Tony Cingrani, Tony Watson, Ross Stripling, Josh Fields, and converted starter Kenta Maeda. That said, the Dodgers are flat out all around the better team and will win their first World Series since 1988.
Prediction: Dogders in six games
World Series MVP: Clayton Kershaw

2017 NFL Week 7 Picks
Here are my picks for week seven of the 2017 NFL season.
Thursday, October 19th
Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) vs Oakland Raiders (2-4)- 8:25, CBS/NFLN: This is a huge divisional game. Kansas City is coming off their first loss of the season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Oakland is coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Raiders must win this game or else they're in big trouble so give me the Silver and Black at home.
Prediction: Oakland 27, Kansas City 23.
Sunday, October 22nd
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) vs Buffalo Bills (3-2)- 1:00, FOX: Tampa Bay is coming off a road loss in Glendale against the Cardinals in which Jameis Winston hurt his shoulder in. Buffalo is coming
off their bye and two weeks ago they lost in Cincinnati against the Bengals. This should be an entertaining game and I like the Bills here at home.
Prediction: Buffalo 23, Tampa Bay 20.
Carolina Panthers (4-2) vs Chicago Bears (2-4)- 1:00, FOX: Carolina coming off a disappointing Thursday night home loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago is coming off a nice overtime win in Baltimore against the Ravens. Don't rule out the Bears keeping this one close, but I like the Panthers to bounce back here on the road.
Prediction: Carolina 26, Chicago 16.
Tennessee Titans (3-3) vs Cleveland Browns (0-6)- 1:00, CBS: Tennessee is coming off a much needed Monday night divisional home win over the Indianapolis Colts. Cleveland is coming off a disastrous road loss in Houston against the Texans. DeShone Kizer is back as the Browns starter after Kevin Hogan started the last game, but it doesn't matter. The Titans are the better team and will win this game comfortably.
Prediction: Tennessee 27, Cleveland 13
New Orleans Saints (3-2) vs Green Bay Packers (4-2)- 1:00, FOX: New Orleans is coming off a home win over the Detroit Lions. Green Bay is coming off a divisional road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings in which Aaron Rodgers broke is collarbone in and is possibly out for the season. With Rodgers out, the Saints will take full advantage and get a rare win in Lambeau.
Prediction: New Orleans 27, Green Bay 19.
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3) vs Indianapolis Colts (2-4)- 1:00, CBS: Jacksonville is coming off a disappointing home loss against the Los Angeles Rams. Indianapolis is coming off a Monday night divisional road loss in Nashville against the Titans. This was a tough call, but give me the Jags to win a low scoring, close one one on the road, but I don't feel good about it because of Blake Bortles (cough).
Prediction: Jacksonville 16, Indianapolis 13.
Arizona Cardinals (3-3) vs Los Angeles Rams (4-2)- 1:00, FOX (London): Arizona is coming off a much needed home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Los Angeles is coming off a nice road win in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. This should be a fun game in London, but I like this Rams team a lot and I believe they'll win a close one here.
Prediction: Los Angeles 26, Arizona 20.
New York Jets (3-3) vs Miami Dolphins (3-2)- 1:00, CBS: New York is coming off a tough divisional home loss against the New England Patriots in which there were some questionable calls from the refs in. Miami is coming off a great road win in Atlanta against the Falcons. I like the Dolphins here at home against a Jets team that is better than anyone could have expected.
Prediction: Miami 24, NY Jets 16.
Baltimore Ravens (3-3) vs Minnesota Vikings (4-2)- 1:00, CBS: Baltimore is coming off a brutal overtime home loss against the Chicago Bears. Minnesota is coming off a big home win over the Green Bay Packers in which Aaron Rodgers hurt his collarbone in. The Vikings defense sans no Rodgers for most of last weeks game is very good and they should keep a not-so good Raven offense in check.
Prediction: Minnesota 23, Baltimore 16.
Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)- 1:00, CBS: Cincinnati is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won a home game against the Buffalo Bills. Pittsburgh is coming off a big time road win in Kansas City to knock off the Chiefs, who were the lone unbeaten team left. I believe this will be a much closer game than people expect and I like the Steelers in a close one.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 20, Cincinnati 17.
Dallas Cowboys (2-3) vs San Francisco 49ers (0-6)- 4:05, FOX: Dallas is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost a heartbreaker at home against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. San Francisco is coming off a loss in Landover against the Redskins. The 49ers have lost close games all season and expect that again against a Cowboy team that is desperate.
Prediction: Dallas 30, San Francisco 23.
Denver Broncos (3-2) vs Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)- 4:25, CBS: Denver is coming off a dismal Sunday night home loss against the previously winless New York Giants. Los Angeles is coming off a nice divisional road win against the Oakland Raiders. You know what? I like the Chargers to win their third straight here against a banged up Trevor Semian and a Bronco team that lost a ton of guys to injury a week ago.
Prediction: Los Angeles 26, Denver 20.
Seattle Seahawks (3-2) vs New York Giants (1-5)- 4:25, CBS: Seattle is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they beat the Rams on the road. New York is coming off their first win of the season on Sunday night in Denver against the Broncos. The Giants will keep this close, but I like the Seahawks here on the road.
Prediction: Seattle 24, New York 20.
Atlanta Falcons (3-2) vs New England Patriots (4-2)- 8:30, NBC: Here we have an epic Super Bowl rematch. Atlanta is coming off a disappointing home loss against the Miami Dolphins. New England is coming off a divisional road win in East Rutherford against the New York Jets. Both teams aren't great defensively so expect a fun and high scoring game and I'm taking Tom Brady and the Pats because they are the healthier team right now.
Prediction: New England 34, Atlanta 27.
Monday, October 23rd
Washington Redskins (4-2) vs Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)- 8:30, ESPN: I don't think anyone circled this game for one that could determine first place in the NFC East right now but here we are. Washington is coming off a home win over the winless San Francisco 49ers. Philadelphia is coming off a big Thursday night road win in Charlotte against the Panthers. The Eagles are rolling right now so give me them to win their fifth straight game.
Prediction: Philadelphia 27, Washington 26.
