Here are my picks for week seven of the 2015 College Football season.
Tuesday, October 13th
Arkansas State (2-3; 1-0) at South Alabama (3-2; 1-0)- 8:00, ESPN2
Pick: Arkansas State
Thursday, October 15th
Auburn (3-2; 0-2) at Kentucky (4-1; 2-1)- 7:00, ESPN: This should be an interesting matchup with the Tigers failing to live up to hype and the Cats exceeding expectations. This is a tough call, but I may regret picking the underachieving Auburn on the road if they fail yet again.
Pick: Auburn
Western Kentucky (5-0; 3-1) at North Texas (0-5; 0-2)- 7:30, CBSSN
Pick: Western Kentucky
(18) UCLA (4-1; 1-1) at (15) Stanford (4-1; 3-0)- 10:00, ESPN: This should be a great game between two of the Pac-12's best teams. The Cardinal are home and I like Kevin Hogan to out-duel Josh Rosen to get the win.
Pick: Stanford
Friday, October 16th
Cincinnati (3-2; 0-2) at BYU (4-2)- 8:00, ESPN: This is an underrated game on the slate for the weekend with a somewhat underachieving Bearcats team and a resilient Cougars team. This should be a fun game and I like BYU at home.
Pick: BYU
(24) Houston (5-0; 2-0) at Tulane (2-3; 1-1)- 9:00, ESPNU
Pick: Houston
(21) Boise State (5-1; 2-0) at Utah State (3-2; 2-0)- 9:00, CBSSN: This is a key game in the MWC. The Broncos are the better team here and I think they get a narrow road win, although the Aggies can't be ruled out here.
Pick: Boise State
UNLV (2-4; 1-1) at Fresno State (1-5; 0-3)- 10:30, ESPN2
Pick: Fresno State
Saturday, October 17th
Western Michigan (2-3; 1-0) at Ohio (5-1; 2-0)- 12:00, ESPN3
Pick: Ohio
Eastern Michigan (1-5; 0-2) at (22) Toledo (5-0; 2-0)- 12:00, ESPN3
Pick: Toledo
South Florida (2-3; 0-1) at Connecticut (3-3; 1-1)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: Connecticut
Tulsa (3-2; 0-1) at East Carolina (3-3; 1-1)- 12:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: East Carolina
Texas Tech (4-2; 1-2) at Kansas (0-5; 0-2)- 12:00, FS1
Pick: Texas Tech
Purdue (1-5; 0-2) at Wisconsin (4-2; 1-1)- 12:00
Pick: Wisconsin
Marshall (5-1; 2-0) at Florida Atlantic (1-4; 1-1)- 12:00
Pick: Marshall
FIU (3-3; 1-1) at Middle Tennessee (2-4; 1-1)- 12:00
Pick: Middle Tennessee
Bucknell (3-2; 0-1) at Army (1-4) 12:00, CBSSN
Pick: Army
West Virginia (3-2; 0-2) at (2) Baylor (5-0; 2-0)- 12:00, FOX
Pick: Baylor
(17) Iowa (6-0; 2-0) at (20) Northwestern (5-1; 1-1)- 12:00, ABC/ESPN2: This is a big one in the Big-10. Iowa is still unbeaten and Northwestern suffered their first loss of the season last weekend at the Big House. I believe the Hawkeyes will suffer their first loss this weekend as the Cats bounce back from their disastrous loss from last week.
Pick: Northwestern
(13) Ole Miss (5-1; 2-1) at Memphis (5-0; 2-0) 12:00, ABC/ESPN2: This turns out to be a pivotal game on the docket too. The Tigers are unbeaten but they haven't played anybody as good as the Rebels yet. Paxton Lynch has played outstanding so far this season and I expect that to continue in this game, except in a losing effort against a great Rebel team.
Pick: Ole Miss
Louisiana Tech (4-2; 2-1) at Mississippi State (4-2; 1-2)- 12:00, SECN
Pick: Mississippi State
Louisville (2-3; 1-1) at (11) Florida State (5-0; 3-0)- 12:00, ESPN: This game has upset potential, but I think the Noles win a close one here.
Pick: Florida State
Pittsburgh (4-1; 2-0) at Georgia Tech (2-4; 0-3)- 12:30, ESPN3: The Yellow Jackets have fallen apart while the Panthers have impressed. That trend continues in Atlanta.
Pick: Pittsburgh
Buffalo (2-3; 0-1) at Central Michigan (2-4; 1-1) 1:00, ESPN3
Pick: Central Michigan
Northern Illinois (3-3; 1-1) at Miami (OH) (1-5; 0-2)- 2:30, ESPN3
Pick: Northern Illinois
Akron (3-3; 1-1) at Bowling Green (4-2; 2-0)- 3:00, ESPN3
Pick: Bowling Green
Georgia State (1-4; 1-1) at Ball State (2-4; 1-2)- 3:00, ESPN3
Pick: Ball State
Kent State (2-4; 1-1) at Massachusetts (1-4; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Massachusetts
Air Force (3-2; 2-0) at Colorado State (2-4; 0-2)- 3:30, CBSSN
Pick: Colorado State
Idaho (1-4; 0-2) at Troy (1-4; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Troy
Virginia Tech (3-3; 1-1) at Miami (FL) (3-2; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPNU: The U needs this one to get back on track and perhaps for Al Golden to survive another week.
Pick: Miami (FL)
(10) Alabama (5-1; 2-1) at (9) Texas A&M (5-0; 2-0)- 3:30, CBS: This is the biggest game in the SEC this weekend for sure. The Tide are built for big games and I believe they'll give the Aggies their first loss of the season.
Pick: Alabama
Syracuse (3-2; 1-0) at Virginia (1-4; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Syracuse
(19) Oklahoma (4-1; 1-1) at Kansas State (3-2; 0-2)- 3:30, ABC: The Sooners are coming off a tough loss against the Longhorns and I think they respond here against an underrated Wildcats team that probably should have beaten the Frogs last week.
Pick: Oklahoma
Rutgers (2-3; 0-2) at Indiana (4-2; 0-2)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Indiana
(7) Michigan State (6-0; 2-0) at (12) Michigan (5-1; 2-0)- 3:30, ESPN: This is the biggest game of the weekend let alone the Big-10. ESPN's College GameDay will be on site for this one as these two in-state rivals face off. Both teams are terrific and the winner of this game won't surprise me. The Big House will be rocking and the Wolverines will win it.
Pick: Michigan
Nebraska (2-4; 0-2) at Minnesota (4-2; 1-1)- 3:30, ESPN2
Pick: Minnesota
Charlotte (2-3; 0-2) at Old Dominion (2-3; 0-1)- 3:30
Pick: Old Dominion
Vanderbilt (2-3; 0-2) at South Carolina (2-4; 0-4)- 4:00, SECN: The Gamecocks will play inspired and win their first game without Steve Spurrier.
Pick: South Carolina
Oregon State (2-3; 0-2) at Washington State (3-2; 1-1)- 4:00
Pick: Washington State
Nevada (3-3; 1-1) at Wyoming (0-6; 0-2)- 4:00, ESPN3
Pick: Nevada
New Mexico State (0-5; 0-1) at Georgia Southern (4-1; 2-0)- 6:00, ESPN3
Pick: Georgia Southern
Appalachian State (4-1; 1-0) at Louisiana Monroe (1-4; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Appalachian State
Hawaii (2-4; 1-1) at New Mexico (3-3; 1-1)- 7:00
Pick: New Mexico
(8) Florida (6-0; 4-0) at (6) LSU (5-0; 3-0)- 7:00, ESPN: This is another big game in the SEC here as these two unbeaten face off in Baton Rouge. Florida's quarterback Will Grier was just suspended for the rest of the year for using PED's. I do think the Gators will keep it close without Grier, but the a Tigers are home and they rarely lose night games in Death Valley.
Pick: LSU
Wake Forest (3-3; 1-2) at North Carolina (4-1; 1-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: North Carolina
Boston College (3-3; 0-3) at (5) Clemson (5-0; 2-0)- 7:00, ESPNU
Pick: Clemson
UTSA (1-5; 1-1) at Southern Mississippi (3-3; 1-1)- 7:00
Pick: UTSA
(3) TCU (6-0; 3-0) at Iowa State (2-3; 1-1)- 7:00, ESPN2
Pick: TCU
UCF (0-6; 0-2) at Temple (5-0; 2-0)- 7:30
Pick: Temple
USC (3-2; 1-2) at (14) Notre Dame (5-1)- 7:30, NBC: USC fired Steve Sarkisian and Clay Helton will take over as interim head coach. I believe the Trojans will show up and play well, but the Irish need this win to keep their playoff hopes alive and I believe they will do so at home.
Pick: Notre Dame
Missouri (4-2; 1-2) at Georgia (4-2; 2-2)- 7:30, SECN: The Bulldogs have lost back to back games and they need to respond here at home against the Tigers and I believe they will.
Pick: Georgia
Penn State (5-1; 2-0) at (1) Ohio State (6-0; 2-0)- 8:00, ABC: This is another big game in the Big-10. The Lions have won five straight after losing to Temple week one and the Buckeyes are still unbeaten despite showing vulnerability. I expect this game to be close but Ezekiel Elliott to be the difference here to keep the Buckeyes unbeaten.
Pick: Ohio State
Arizona (4-2; 1-2) at Colorado (3-3; 0-2)- 9:00
Pick: Arizona
Arizona State (4-2; 2-1) at (4) Utah (5-0; 2-0)- 10:00, ESPN: The Sun Devils have the knack of knocking off unbeatens on the road (see: UCLA), but I don't think that's the case here because the Utes may just be the nations best team right now.
Pick: Utah
Oregon (3-3; 1-2) at Washington (3-2; 1-1)- 10:30, ESPN3: I see a letdown here for the Huskies after that big win at the Colesium.
Pick: Oregon
San Diego State (3-3; 2-0) at San Jose State (3-3; 2-1)- 10:30, ESPNU
Pick: San Jose State
