2018 NFL Season Awards

Here are my awards for the 2018 NFL season.

MVP: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Mahomes had a coming out party and it couldn't have gone any better for him. He was fantastic throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdown passes and I'm sure he'll be an MVP contender for years to come.
Runner up: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Offensive Player of the Year: Mahomes. See above.
Runner up: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys

Defensive Player of the Year: Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams: Donald is a dominant force on the interior as he should win this award a second straight season. He's the leader of the Rams defense and will be for years to come.
Runner up: Khalil Mack, Chicago Bears

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Saquon Barkley, New York Giants: Barkley was outstanding in his rookie season breaking rookie records for most scrimmage yards and most touchdowns. Some people still feel that the Giants should have taken a quarterback over Barkley, but Barkley is a can't miss generational talent who is going to be great for a long time.
Runner up: Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Darius Leonard, Indianapolis Colts: The Colts found themselves a foundational piece in the second round with Leonard, which I initially thought was a reach. I was proven wrong and he was a tackles machine for them and will be around for a long time.
Runner up: Derwin James, Los Angeles Chargers

Coach of the Year: Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears: Ryan Pace seems to have nailed his coaching hire with Nagy, who was tremendous in his first season with the Bears. Certainly the addition of Khalil Mack changed the teams outlook but a division title and a 12-4 record is something to be proud of.
Runner up: Pete Carroll, Seattle Seahawks

Comeback Player of the Year: Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: Luck was sensational in his first full season in a long time and reminded folks around the league that he is still among the games elite. He deserves a ton of the credit for taking the Colts to the divisional round.
Runner up: JJ Watt, Houston Texans
