Super Bowl LIII Prediction

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick won their first Super Bowl against the than St. Louis Rams and now they play the Los Angeles Rams in their third season back in Los Angeles. Will they defeat the Rams in what could be their last Super Bowl or will the upstart Rams win their first Super Bowl in twenty years? Here is my prediction for Super Bowl LII.

(A2) New England Patriots vs (N2) Los Angeles Rams: This game could be an instant classic or a dud. It feels like one of those types of games. The Patriots are coming off a great AFC Championshup game overtime win in Kansas City against the upstart Chiefs and MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes. The Rams are coming off their NFC Championship game overtime win in New Orleans against the Saints in which the Rams took advantage of the well documented no-call in order to get here. This is Tom Brady and the Patriots third Super Bowl in a row and their fourth in five seasons. The Rams are here for the first time in twenty years. The Patriots offense is formidable with Brady with his running back trio in Sony Michel, James White, and Rex Burkhead and his receivers in Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, and Phillip Dorsett along with Rob Gronkowski, who may retire after the year. The Rams offense is great when Todd Gurley is healthy, but his uncertain health opened the door for CJ Anderson to have an impact in the playoffs. Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, and Josh Reynolds are a solid receiving trio with two sneaky good tight ends in Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett. Both the Pats and Rams offensive lines have been outstanding throughout the playoffs. The Rams have the better of the two front sevens led by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. Both teams secondary's are solid with the Pats led by Stefon Gilmore, Patrick Chung, and the McCourty brothers and with the Rams led by Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and LaMarcus Joyner. That said, I just cannot see the Patriots losing the Super Bowl two straight years, although I believe that this years Rams team is better than the reigning champion Eagles.

Prediction: New England 37, LA Rams 30.

Super Bowl MVP: Tom Brady
