Here are my picks for Week five of the 2019 NFL Season.
Thursday, October 3rd
Los Angeles Rams (3-1) vs Seattle Seahawks (3-1)- 8:20, FOX/NFLN: The Rams are coming off a horrendous home loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jared Goff had the worst 500-yard performance I've ever seen. The Seahawks are coming off a divisional road win in Glendale against the Cardinals. The Seahawks defense is not good what so ever and it's success this season has come against mediocre to bad quarterbacks, so I expect a big bounce back spot for Goff and the Rams here and their defense will show up here as they'll quiet the twelfth man in primetime and win in Seattle for the third year in a row.
Prediction: LA Rams 30, Seattle 26.
Sunday, October 6th
Arizona Cardinals (0-3-1) vs Cincinnati Bengals (0-4)- 1:00, FOX: Here's this weeks toilet bowl game! The Cardinals are coming off a divisional home loss against the Seattle Seahawks. The Bengals are coming off a Monday Night divisional road loss in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. Both of these teams don't play much defense and the better quarterback at this point is Kyler Murray so give me them to get their first win of the season.
Prediction: Arizona 27, Cincinnati 20.
Buffalo Bills (3-1) vs Tennessee Titans (2-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming off a divisional home loss against the New England Patriots. The Titans are coming off a road win in Atlanta against the Falcons. The Titans are perhaps the most Jekkyl and Hyde team in the league and if Josh Allen plays, I'm picking the Bills and if he isn't cleared due to his concussion, give me the Titans. Right now, I'm gonna assume he's cleared and the Bills would get the win.
Prediction: Buffalo 27, Tennessee 20.
Chicago Bears (3-1) vs Oakland Raiders (2-2)- 1:00, FOX: This game is going to be played in London. The Bears are coming off a big divisional home win over the Minnesota Vikings sans losing Mitch Trubisky to a shoulder injury. The Raiders are coming off a nice road win Indianapolis against the Colts. Khalil Mack has revenge on his mind after the trade from a year ago and I think Mack and the defense lead them to a win overseas.
Prediction: Chicago 26, Oakland 16.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) vs New Orleans Saints (3-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Bucs are coming off an impressive road win in Los Angeles against the Rams. The Saints are coming off a Sunday Night home win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints offense with Teddy Bridgewater isn't the same as it is with Drew Brees, meanwhile Jameis Winston is playing very well with Bruce Arians and I think the Bucs get a big win on the road.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 27, New Orleans 23.
Minnesota Vikings (2-2) vs New York Giants (2-2)- 1:00, FOX: The Vikings are coming off a bad divisional road loss in Chicago against the Bears. The Giants are coming off a divisional home win over the Washington Redskins. The Giants are the most fraudulent .500 team and they'll be exposed with their horrible defense and the Vikes defense will make Daniel Jones look like a rookie.
Prediction: Minnesota 34, NY Giants 17.
New York Jets (0-3) vs Philadelphia Eagles (2-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Jets are coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they lost in New England against the Patriots. The Eagles are coming off a good Thursday night road win in Green Bay against the Packers. Sam Darnold is not back yet and Luke Faulk has proven to be a significant drop off and because of that, the Eagles are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Philadelphia 33, NY Jets 13.
Baltimore Ravens (2-2) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3)- 1:00, CBS: The Ravens are coming off a bad divisional home loss against the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers are coming off a Monday Night divisional home win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens are starting to look more fraudulent by the week (especially their defense) and I like the Steelers to win their second straight to get back in the division race.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 26, Baltimore 24.
New England Patriots (4-0) vs Washington Redskins (0-4)- 1:00, CBS: The Pats are coming off a nice divisional road win in Buffalo against the Bills. The Redskins are coming off a bad divisional road loss in East Rutherford against the Giants. The Pats defense is the best unit on the field here and is the strength of their team and they'll get an easy win here against Colt McCoy and the dysfunctional Redskins.
Prediction: New England 31, Washington 10.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) vs Carolina Panthers (2-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Jaguars are coming off a road win in Denver against the Broncos in a game which it took a field goal by Josh Lambo as time expired. The Panthers are coming off a road win in Houston against the Texans. Both Gardner Minshew and Kyle Allen haven't been impressive as they were two weeks ago, but I think the Jaguars defense leads the way here.
Prediction: Jacksonville 17, Carolina 13.
Atlanta Falcons (1-3) vs Houston Texans (2-2)- 1:00, FOX: The Falcons are coming off a horrendous home loss against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans are coming off a home loss against the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons look like a team that's in search of an identity and coach Dan Quinn could be a loss away from being fired and I like the Texans and DeShaun Watson here at home.
Prediction: Houston 23, Atlanta 16.
Denver Broncos (0-4) vs Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)- 4:05, CBS: The Broncos are coming off a heart breaking home loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars and two of their four losses were on game ending field goals. The Chargers are coming off an easy home win over the Miami Dolphins. I think this game will be competitive and I think Melvin Gordon finally sees playing time and the Chargers get the win at home.
Prediction: LA Chargers 24, Denver 23.
Green Bay Packers (3-1) vs Dallas Cowboys (3-1)- 4:25, FOX: This is a nice game for the last afternoon double-header game. The Packers are coming off a Thursday night home loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in which they lost DeVante Adams in due to a toe injury. The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing Sunday night road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. With Adams out, this screams bounce back for the Cowboys in a major way led by Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
Prediction: Dallas 30, Green Bay 20.
Indianapolis Colts (2-2) vs Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)- 8:20, NBC: The Colts are coming off a bad home loss against the Oakland Raiders. The Chiefs are coming off a narrow road win in Detroit against the Lions. This is a perfect spot for the Chiefs to lay the smackdown against a Colts team that looked fraudulent against a bad Raiders team a week ago.
Prediction: Kansas City 30, Indianapolis 10.
Monday, October 7th
Cleveland Browns (2-2) vs San Francisco 49ers (3-0)- 8:15, ESPN: The Browns are coming off a huge divisional road win in Baltimore against the Ravens. The 49ers are coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in a close one. I don't think the Niners are as good as their record indicates and I'm going to roll with the Browns here despite not having the coaching advantage.
Prediction: Cleveland 31, San Francisco 26.
