2019 NFL Week 7 Picks

Here are my picks for Week 7 of the 2019 NFL season.

Thursday, October 17th
Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) vs Denver Broncos (2-4)- 8:20, NFLN: The Chiefs are coming off a second straight home loss, this time against the Houston Texans. The Broncos are coming off a second straight win, this time at home over the Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs don't have Sammy Watkins on offense and Patrick Mahomes clearly is not 100 percent. I get it, Bradley Chubb is out for the year for the Broncos from their pass rush, but this is a perfect opportunity for the Broncos to get a home win in primetime against a team from their own division. Joe Flacco is not a quarterback I love, but I just like this spot for the Broncos and their defense to make a stand and to get a third win a row against a reeling Chiefs team.
Prediction: Denver 24, Kansas City 20.

Sunday, October 20th
Los Angeles Rams (3-3) vs Atlanta Falcons (1-5)- 1:00, FOX: The Rams are coming off a bad divisional home loss against the San Francisco 49ers. The Falcons are coming off a road loss in Glendale against the Cardinals courtesy of Matt Bryant missing a potential game tying extra point. The Rams offense is not as bad as we saw last week and the Falcons defense is horrific so this adds up to a nice bounce back spot for Jared Goff and the Rams.
Prediction: LA Rams 34, Atlanta 30.

Miami Dolphins (0-5) vs Buffalo Bills (5-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Dolphins are coming off a home loss against the Washington Redskins in which they had an opportunity to take the lead late with a two-point conversion, but didn't get it done. The Bills are coming off a bye and two weeks ago they won in Nashville against the Titans. This screams ugly and low scoring and the Bills coming out on top, who are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Buffalo 27, Miami 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4) vs Cincinnati Bengals (0-6)- 1:00, CBS: The Jaguars are coming off a home loss against the New Orleans Saints. The Bengals are coming off a divisional road loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. I want to take the Bengals here to get their first win of the season, but two of their starting cornerbacks are injured, so that should open it up for Gardner Minshew and his receivers and I believe the Jags will get a much needed win.
Prediction: Jacksonville 20, Cincinnati 17.

Minnesota Vikings (4-2) vs Detroit Lions (2-2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Vikings are coming off a nice home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Lions are coming off a rough Monday night divisional road loss in Green Bay against the Packers (courtesy of the officials). Quite frankly, I feel that the Vikings are the better team on both sides of the ball and they'll get a big divisional win.
Prediction: Minnesota 30, Detroit 20.

Oakland Raiders (3-2) vs Green Bay Packers (5-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Raiders are coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won in London over the Chicago Bears. The Packers are coming off a Monday night divisional home win over the Detroit Lions. This Packers team is really good and are better on both sides than a Raiders team I'm not sold on.
Prediction: Green Bay 30, Oakland 20.

Houston Texans (4-2) vs Indianapolis Colts (3-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Texans are coming off a big time road win in Kansas City against the Chiefs. The Colts are coming off their bye and two weeks ago they also won Kansas City against the Chiefs on a Sunday night. This should be a great game and I think this is a nice opportunity for the Colts to get a big division win at home and I think they get it done.
Prediction: Indianapolis 26, Houston 24.

Arizona Cardinals (2-3-1) vs New York Giants (2-4)- 1:00, FOX: The Cardinals are coming off a home win over the reeling Atlanta Falcons. The Giants are coming off a Thursday night road loss in Foxboro against the Patriots. Kyler Murray vs Daniel Jones is the storyline here and I think with the return of Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram, Jones will perform well and his team will win at home.
Prediction: NY Giants 34, Arizona 23.

San Francisco 49ers (5-0) vs Washington Redskins (1-5)- 1:00, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a huge divisional road win in Los Angeles against the Rams. The Redskins are coming off a road win in Miami against the Dolphins. It won't surprise me if the Redskins keep this game close, but the Niners should get the win to remain unbeaten.
Prediction: San Francisco 23, Washington 13.

Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) vs Tennessee Titans (2-4)- 4:05, CBS: The Chargers are coming off a bad Sunday night home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans are coming off a shutout road loss in Denver against the Broncos and they benched Marcus Mariota for Ryan Tannehill. I do not think the quarterback change will result in success this week (at least) against a Chargers team that is desperate for a big win.
Prediction: LA Chargers 23, Tennessee 17.

New Orleans Saints (5-1) vs Chicago Bears (3-2)- 4:25, FOX: The Saints are coming off a road win in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. The Bears are coming off a bye and two weeks ago they had a horrendous loss in London against the Oakland Raiders. Mitch Trubisky returns for the Bears this week and I expect him to perform better than he did before his injury and I think the Bears defense has a great day since the Saints will miss Alvin Kamara due to knee and ankle injuries.
Prediction: Chicago 17, New Orleans 13.

Baltimore Ravens (4-2) vs Seattle Seahawks (5-1)- 4:25, FOX: The Ravens are coming off a divisional home win over the lowly Cincinnati Bengals. The Seahawks are coming off a road win in Cleveland against the dysfunctional Browns. This should be a fun game to watch with the two quarterbacks feasting on the opposing defenses and I think Russell Wilson and the Seahawks get it done at home.
 Prediction: Seattle 31, Baltimore 26.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) vs Dallas Cowboys (3-3)- 8:20, NBC: This is easily the biggest game on the Week seven slate. The Eagles are coming off a disappointing road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. The Cowboys are coming off a bad road loss in East Rutherford against the Jets. The Cowboys are getting two offensive lineman back this week which should help Dak Prescott and that offense, but I've seen the Cowboys lose games like this in the past and I think it will be the case here as the Eagles take the NFC East lead as rumblings continue about Jason Garrett's future.
Prediction: Philadelphia 27, Dallas 24.

Monday, October 21st
New England Patriots (6-0) vs New York Jets (1-4)- 8:15, ESPN: The Patriots are coming off a Thursday night home win over the New York Giants. The Jets are coming off their first win of the season against the Dallas Cowboys at home in Sam Darnold's return. Darnold's return made the Jets offense look competent and it should be competent for the rest of the season if Darnold is healthy, but the Patriots are the better team and they should win a competitive game.
Prediction: New England 30, NY Jets 20.
