2019 NFL Week 6 Picks

Here are my picks for Week 6 of the 2019 NFL season.

Thursday, October 10th
New York Giants (2-3) vs New England Patriots (5-0)- 8:20, FOX/NFLN: The Giants are coming off a home loss against the Minnesota Vikings. The Patriots are coming off a road win in Landover against the Redskins. The Giants have a laundry list of injuries on offense including Saquon Barkley, Sterling Sheppard, Evan Engram, and Wayne Gallman so Daniel Jones doesn't have much help against a Pats defense that's been the best in the NFL through five weeks. Despite having injuries on offense of their own too, the Pats are my lock of the week.
Prediction: New England 30, NY Giants 10.

Sunday, October 13th
Carolina Panthers (3-2) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3)- 9:30AM, NFLN: This is a sneaky good game from London in a rematch from the Thursday Night Football game in Week two in which the Bucs win courtesy of their defense making big stops, including a big one on 4th down on Christian McCaffrey. The Panthers are coming off a big home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Buccaneers are coming off a divisional road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. Both of these offenses will put up their points but I think McCaffrey will be too much for the Bucs this time around.
Prediction: Carolina 38, Tampa Bay 33.

Seattle Seahawks (4-1) vs Cleveland Browns (2-3)- 1:00, FOX: The Seahawks are coming off a big time Thursday night divisional home win over the Los Angeles Rams. The Browns are coming off a disastrous Monday Night home loss against the San Francisco 49ers. With many people doubting them, this is a nice opportunity for the Browns to get back on track against a Seahawk defense that is a shell of what it was five years ago.
Prediction: Cleveland 34, Seattle 27.

Houston Texans (3-2) vs Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Texans are coming off a home win over the reeling Atlanta Falcons. The Chiefs are coming off a very disappointing Sunday night home loss against the Indianapolis Colts. This should be a high scoring game and the one thing that makes me nervous is Patrick Mahomes's ankle, and lets bank on that being ok and the Chiefs to get a win in what should be a fun game.
Prediction: Kansas City 34, Houston 31.

Washington Redskins (0-5) vs Miami Dolphins (0-4)- 1:00, FOX: Here is the 2019 Toilet Bowl! The Redskins are coming off a home loss against the New England Patriots and fired Jay Gruden the next morning. The Dolphins are coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost at home against the Los Angeles Chargers. The team I trust to actually go out and not tank in this game is the Redskins, who have the new interim coach in Bill Callahan and he'll have them playing hard.
Prediction: Washington 20, Miami 16.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) vs Minnesota Vikings (3-2)- 1:00, FOX: This is a pretty big game in terms of the NFC Playoff picture. The Eagles are coming off a home win over the New York Jets. The Vikings are coming off a road win in East Rutherford against the New York Giants. Kirk Cousins is somebody that never really performs well against good teams and despite the Eagles having injuries on defense, I expect them to come out and win this game as their offense is getting a little healthier.
Prediction: Philadelphia 26, Minnesota 24.

New Orleans Saints (4-1) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3)- 1:00, CBS: The Saints are coming off a big divisional home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jaguars are coming off a tough road loss in Charlotte against the Panthers. This should be a fun game with two backup quarterbacks and the one I think that will get it done will be Gardner Minshew as the Jags get back to .500.
Prediction: Jacksonville 24, New Orleans 21.

Cincinnati Bengals (0-5) vs Baltimore Ravens (3-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Bengals are coming off a bad home loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The Ravens are coming off a divisional overtime win in Pittsburgh against the Steelers in which a horrible roughing the passer call led to the Ravens getting this game. That said, they should cruise here against easily the second worst team in the AFC.
Prediction: Baltimore 38, Cincinnati 16.

San Francisco 49ers (4-0) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-2)- 4:05, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a resounding Monday Night home win over the Cleveland Browns. The Rams are coming off a heartbreaking Thursday Night divisional road loss in Seattle against the Seahawks thanks to a missed kick by Greg Zuerlin that would have won them the game. The Niners may be unbeaten, but this is where I think they drop their first game against a team that is absolutely desperate despite no Todd Gurley.
Prediction: LA Rams 33, San Francisco 20.

Atlanta Falcons (1-4) vs Arizona Cardinals (1-4)- 4:05, FOX: The Falcons are coming off a bad road loss in Houston against the Texans. The Cardinals are coming off their first win of the year in Cincinnati against the winless Bengals. This is certainly a loser leaves town match in terms of this season, especially for the Falcons if they fall here because them it could lead to the firing of Dan Quinn and I think that's a distinct possibility since I like Kyler Murray to lead the Cards to their second in a row.
Prediction: Arizona 26, Atlanta 20.

Tennessee Titans (2-3) vs Denver Broncos (1-4)- 4:25, CBS: The Titans are coming off a home loss against the Buffalo Bills. The Broncos are coming off their first win of the season in Los Angeles against the Chargers. The Titans are probably the most Jekkyl and Hyde team in the league and it feels like a game they'll win to get back to .500.
Prediction: Tennessee 23, Denver 20.

Dallas Cowboys (3-2) vs New York Jets (0-4)- 4:25, CBS: The Cowboys are coming off a disheartening home loss against the Green Bay Packers. The Jets are coming off a road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles. The Jets welcome back Sam Darnold, who had mono for about a month, but their defense is one that I think Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys could get back on track here for a win that they arguably need.
Prediction: Dallas 31, NY Jets 17.

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4) vs Los Angeles Chargers (2-3)- 8:20, NBC: The Steelers are coming off a tough divisional overtime home loss against the Baltimore Ravens in a game they kept getting bad breaks in. The Chargers are coming off a bad divisional home loss against the Denver Broncos. Despite being on their third string quarterback with Mason Rudolph suffering a concussion, there will be many terrible towels in Los Angeles and I think the Steelers win it outright against a Chargers team dealing with so many injuries of their own.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 27, LA Chargers 26.

Monday, October 14th
Detroit Lions (2-1-1) vs Green Bay Packers (4-1)- 8:20, ESPN: The Lions are coming off a bye and toe weeks ago they lost a tough one at home against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers are coming off a huge road win in Arlington against the Cowboys. I don't think the Lions are as nearly as good as the Packers and it will show here in primetime as Aaron Rodgers makes a case for MVP.
Prediction: Green Bay 33, Detroit 20.
