2016 College Football Championship Week: Picks

Here are my picks for Championship Week of the 2016 College Football season.

Friday, December 2nd
Western Michigan (12-0; 8-0) vs Ohio (8-4; 6-2)- 7:00, ESPN2: This game will be played in Detroit. It should be an interesting one to see if the Broncos will remain unbeaten, and I believe they will although I believe the Bobcats will put up a fight.
Pick: Western Michgian

Washington (11-1; 8-1) vs Coloado (10-2; 8-1)- 8:00, FOX: This game will be played in Santa Clara. It should be a fantastic game with a ton of scoring. I really like Jake Browning the Huskies here to perhaps get to the College Football Playoff here, although I believe the Buffaloes have a shot.
Pick: Washington

Saturday, December 3rd
Kansas State (7-4; 5-3) at TCU (6-5; 4-4)- 12:00, FS1: This was a tough call here, but the Wildcats have been quietly red hot and they'll get a road win in Fort Worth.
Pick: Kansas State

Troy (9-2; 6-1) at Georgia Southern (4-7; 3-4)- 12:00, ESPN2
Pick: Troy

Temple (9-3; 7-1) at Navy (9-2; 7-1) 12:00, ABC: This a very underrated conference championship game we got here. This should be a fun game and I believe the Midshipmen's offense will be too much for the Owls to stop.
Pick: Navy

Louisiana Tech (8-4; 6-2) at Western Kentucky (9-3; 7-1)- 12:00, ESPN: This should be a fun matchup with a lot of scoring. Give me the Hilltopers with the home field advantage.
Pick: Western Kentucky

Oklahoma State (9-2; 7-1) at Oklahoma (9-2; 8-0)- 12:30, FOX: This game decides who wins the Pac-12 and the winner has a long-shot to make the College Football Playoff if some upsets happen. Give me Baker Mayfield and Heisman candidate Dede Westbrook to win their ninth straight game and to probably get the to the Sugar Bowl with a win here over a hot Cowboys team.
Pick: Oklahoma

New Mexico State (3-8; 2-5) at South Alabama (5-6; 1-6)- 1:00, ESPN3
Pick: South Alabama

Louisiana-Lafayette (5-6; 4-3) at Louisiana-Monroe (4-7; 3-4)- 3:00, ESPN3
Pick: Louisiana-Lafayette

Baylor (6-5; 3-5) at West Virginia (9-2; 6-2)- 3:30, FS1: The Mountaineers have an outside shot at a New Years Six bowl if there are some upsets, so expect them to come out and close their great regular season with a home win over a sinking Bears team.
Pick: West Virginia

Alabama (12-0; 8-0) vs Florida (8-3; 6-2)- 4:00, CBS: I just don't see how the Gators defense stops Jalen Hurts and the Tide offense. The Gators only hope is that their defense can pick off Hurts a few times and make pix sixes out of them. The Tide rolls to the College Football Playoff for the third straight season.
Pick: Alabama

Georgia State (4-7; 3-4) at Idaho (7-4; 5-2)- 5:00, ESPN3
Pick: Idaho

Arkansas State (6-5; 6-1) at Texas State (2-9; 0-7)- 7:30, ESPN2
Pick: Arkansas State

San Diego State (9-3; 6-2) at Wyoming (8-4; 6-2)- 7:45, ESPN: This is a very underrated Conference Championship game this weekend. Both of these teams are solid, but give me the Cowboys at home.
Pick: Wyoming

Clemson (11-1; 7-1) vs Virginia Tech (9-3; 6-2); 8:00, ABC: This game will be played in Orlando this season. This should be a very entertaining high scoring affair. I believe the Hokies will keep it close, but DeShaun Watson will make the plays and the Tigers will be College Football Playoff bound for the second straight season.
Pick: Clemson

Wisconsin (10-2; 7-2) vs Penn State (10-2; 8-1); 8:00, FOX: This game will be played in Indianapolis. This could very well be the best game of the weekend and it was the toughest pick of the weekend. I like the Badgers and their stout defense to shut down the hot Nittany Lions offense.
Pick: Wisconsin

Saturday, December 10th
Army (6-5) vs Navy (9-2; 7-1)- 3:00, CBS: This should be a fantastic game between these two rivals. The Knights are improved this season, but I cannot see them stopping the terrific Midshipmen offense.
Pick: Navy
