2016 College Football Week 13: Picks

Here are my picks for week thirteen of the 2016 College Football season.

Tuesday, November 22nd
Akron (5-6; 3-4) at Ohio (7-4; 5-2)- 7:00, ESPNU: The Zips need a win to get in a bowl game, but I don't see them getting a big road win here against a hot Bobcats team.
Pick: Ohio

Ball State (4-7; 1-6) at Miami (OH) (5-6; 5-2) 7:00, ESPN3: The RedHawks need a win here to become bowl eligible after starting the season 0-6. I believe they'll get that here at home.
Pick: Miami (OH)

Central Michigan (6-5; 3-4) at Eastern Michigan (6-5; 3-4) 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Eastern Michigan

Thursday, November 24th
LSU (6-4; 4-3) at Texas A&M (8-3; 4-3)- 7:30, ESPN: This should be an entertaining game on Thanksgiving night. Give me Leonard Fournette and the Tigers to bounce back from their loss last week against Florida. Fournette will not play this week. Give me the Aggies at home.
Pick: Texas A&M

Friday, November 25th
Northern Illinois (4-7; 4-3) at Kent State (3-8; 2-5) 12:00
Pick: Northern Illinois

North Carolina State (5-6; 2-5) at North Carolina (8-3; 5-2)- 12:00, ESPN: The Wolfpack needs a win to become bowl eligible. The Tar Heels need a win and Virginia Tech to lose to Virginia to reach the Conference Championship game. I say the Tar Heels take this one at home.
Pick: North Carolina

Houston (9-2; 5-2) at Memphis (7-4; 4-3)- 12:00, ABC: Let down looms for the Cougars here after a huge home win over Louisville to knock them out of the playoff hunt. The Tigers will put up their points, but I like the Cougars here on the road.
Pick: Houston

Buffalo (2-9; 1-6) at Bowling Green (3-8; 2-5)- 2:30
Pick: Bowling Green

Arkansas (7-4; 3-4) at Missouri (3-8; 1-6)- 2:30, CBS
Pick: Missouri

Washington (10-1; 7-1) at Washington State (8-3; 7-1)- 3:30, FOX: This is the biggest Apple Cup game in years. This game will decide who goes to the Pac-12 Championship to play the winner of the Pac-12 South. The quarterback matchup is fun as well and I like Jake Browning and the Huskies to get a big road win here against Luke Falk and the Cougars.
Pick: Washington

Boise State (10-1; 6-1) at Air Force (8-3; 4-3)- 3:30, CBSSN: This is a sneaky good game. The Broncos are playing for a chance to play in the MWC Championship game with a win and a Wyoming loss and a possible New Years Six bowl as well. Give me the Broncos in a close one in Colorado Springs.
Pick: Boise State

TCU (5-5; 3-4) at Texas (5-6; 3-5)- 3:30, FS1: This game is very interesting. The winner here receives a bowl game and this is such a hard game to pick. This is Charlie Strong's final home game as the school came out and said he'll coach the game and that they'll re-evaluate him after the game. That said, give me the Longhorns to bounce back from their awful loss to Kansas at home against a Horn Frogs team that looked hapless a week ago.
Pick: Texas

Nebraska (9-2; 6-2) at Iowa (7-4; 5-3)- 3:30, ABC: This is going to be an awesome game. The Hawkeyes are my pick here because they are home and the Cornhuskers won't have Tommy Armstrong again in all likelihood.
Pick: Iowa

Louisiana Tech (8-3; 6-1) at Southern Miss (5-6; 3-4)- 4:00, ESPNEWS: The Bulldogs have already clinched their spot in the Conference-USA Championship game and the Golden Eagles need a win to become bowl eligible. Give me the Eagles here at home.
Pick: Southern Miss

Toledo (9-2; 6-1) at Western Michigan (10-0; 7-1) 5:00, ESPNU: This game decides who plays Ohio in the MAC Championship game. The Broncos are the superior team and they'll get the job done at home.
Pick: Western Michigan

Baylor (6-4; 3-4) vs Texas Tech (4-7; 2-6)- 6:00, ESPN: This game will be played in Arlington. This was a tough call, but I like the Bears here because the Red Raiders cant stop anyone and it could very well be Kliff Kingsbury's final game as the Red Raiders coach.
Pick: Baylor

Cincinnati (4-7; 1-6) at Tulsa (8-3; 5-2)- 8:30, ESPNU
Pick: Tulsa

Arizona State (5-6; 2-6) at Arizona (2-9; 0-8)- 9:30, ESPN: The Sun Devils can become bowl eligible here with a win and I believe they'll get it in Tuscon against a hapless Wildcats team.
Pick: Arizona State

Saturday, November 26th
Georgia Tech (7-4; 4-4) at Georgia (7-4; 4-4)- 12:00, ACCN
Pick: Georgia

Kentucky (6-5; 4-4) at (11) Louisville (9-2; 7-1)- 12:00, ESPN: Lamar Jackson will bounce back from a poor performance from last weeks loss in Houston and will seal the Heisman here.
Pick: Louisville

Kansas (2-9; 1-7) at Kansas State (6-4; 4-3)- 12:00, FS1: Huge letdown here for the Jayhawks here after their first conference win in two years.
Pick: Kansas State

Rutgers (2-9; 0-8) at Maryland (5-6; 2-6)- 12:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: Maryland

(3) Michigan (10-1; 7-1) at (2) Ohio State (10-1; 7-1)- 12:00, ABC: Here we have The Game, which is the biggest game of the entire season so far. The winner likely goes to the College Football Playoff and I believe the winner will be the Buckeyes at home led by JT Barrett in a thriller.
Pick: Ohio State

Purdue (3-8; 1-7) at Indiana (5-6; 3-6)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: Indiana

Illinois (3-8; 2-6) at Northwestern (5-6; 4-4)- 12:00, BTN
Pick: Northwestern

UCF (6-5; 4-3) at South Florida (9-2; 6-1)- 12:00, CBSSN
Pick: South Florida

Virginia (2-9; 1-6) at Virginia Tech (8-3; 5-2)- 12:00, ESPN2: The Hokies need a win or a Tarheels loss to get to the ACC Championship game and I believe the Hokies get the win.
Pick: Virginia Tech

Arkansas State (6-4; 6-0) at Louisiana-Lafayette (4-6; 3-3)- 12:00, ESPN3
Pick: Arkansas State

Syracuse (4-7; 2-5) at Pittsburgh (7-4; 4-3)- 12:30, ACCN
Pick: Pittsburgh

Boston College (5-6; 1-6) at Wake Forest (6-5; 3-4)- 3:00, ACCN: The Decon Demons are already bowl eligible and the Eagles need a win to become bowl eligible. I believe the Eagles get it done on the road led by their defense to become bowl eligible.
Pick: Boston College

Duke (4-7; 1-6) at Miami (FL) (7-4; 4-3)- 3:30, ESPN2
Pick: Miami (FL)

FIU (4-7; 4-3) at Old Dominion (8-3; 6-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Old Dominion

San Jose State (3-8; 2-5) at Fresno State (1-10; 1-7)- 3:30, CBSSN
Pick: Fresno State

Mississippi State (4-7; 2-5) at Ole Miss (5-6; 2-5)- 3:30, SECN: The quarterback matchup should be fun here, but give me the Rebels at home to become bowl eligible.
Pick: Ole Miss

(13) Auburn (8-3; 5-2) at (1) Alabama (11-0; 7-0)- 3:30, CBS: The Iron Bowl. Don't be surprised if this game is close in the second half, but Jalen Hurts makes the plays down the stretch to remain unbeaten.
Pick: Alabama

Notre Dame (4-7) at (12) USC (8-3; 7-2)- 3:30, ABC: The Trojans will win this one going away. The Irish have too many distractions right now and they have nothing to play for.
Pick: USC

(25) Navy (8-2; 6-1) at SMU (5-6; 3-4)- 3:30, ESPNU: The Mustangs are playing for a bowl game, but the Midshipmen are playing for a New Years Six bowl, and I believe the Mipshipmen get it done behind their offense.
Pick: Navy

(18) West Virginia (8-2; 5-2) at Iowa State (3-8; 2-6)- 3:30, FS1: I see the Cyclones having a big letdown after their blowout win over the Red Raiders as the Mountaineers bounce back from their tough loss against the Sooners.
Pick: West Virginia

Michigan State (3-8; 1-7) at (7) Penn State (9-2; 7-1) 3:30, ESPN: The Lions have to be careful here as Sparty has been more competitve of late, but they'll win a game that will be closer than the experts think.
Pick: Penn State

Minnesota (8-3; 5-3) at Wisconsin (9-2; 6-2)- 3:30, BTN: The winner of this game could go to the Big-10 Championship game (if the Gophers win, but the Huskers win, the Huskers go). The Badgers are the better team and they'll win to seal their ticket to Indianapolis.
Pick: Wisconsin

South Alabama (5-5; 1-5) at Idaho (6-4; 4-2)- 3:30
Pick: Idaho

Troy (8-2; 5-1) at Texas State (2-8; 0-6)- 4:00, ESPN3

Pick: Appalachian State

Tulane (3-8; 0-7) at Connecticut (3-8; 1-6)- 4:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: Connecticut

Oregon (4-7; 2-6) at Oregon State (3-8; 2-6)- 4:00, Pac-12N: I see a big letdown for the Ducks after a nice upset win in Salt Lake City. Beavers take it at home.
Pick: Oregon State

Nevada (4-7; 2-5) at UNLV (4-7; 3-4)- 4:00
Pick: UNLV

North Texas (5-6; 3-4) at UTEP (3-8; 1-6)- 4:00
Pick: North Texas

Pick: California

(22) Utah (8-3; 5-3) at (9) Colorado (9-2; 7-1)- 7:30, FOX: The Buffaloes need this win to make the Pac-12 Championship game and I believe they will.
Pick: Colorado

South Carolina (6-5; 3-5) at (4) Clemson (10-1; 7-1)- 7:30, ESPN: The Tigers should win, but the Gamecocks will hang around.
Pick: Clemson

(17) Tennessee (8-3; 4-3) at Vanderbilt (5-6; 2-5)- 7:30, SECN: The Commodores need a win to become bowl eligible and I believe they'll get it done behind Derek Mason.
Pick: Vanderbilt

Pick: Temple

Rice (3-8; 2-6) at (24) Stanford (8-3; 6-3)- 8:00
Pick: Stanford

(15) Florida (8-2; 6-2) at (14) Florida State; 8:00, ABC: The Gators defense could keep them in this game, but Dalvin Cook should lead the way for the Seminoles at home.
Pick: Florida State

Colorado State (6-5; 4-3) at San Diego State (9-2; 6-1)- 9:00, CBSSN
Pick: San Diego State

Wyoming (8-3; 6-1) at New Mexico (7-4; 5-2)- 10:15, ESPN2: This is a huge game that is sneaky great. The Cowboys need a win to get to the MWC Championship game, but I see the Lobos pulling off the home upset as Boise State will take the Mountain Division.
Pick: New Mexico

Utah State (3-8; 1-7) at BYU (7-4)- 10:15, ESPNU
Pick: BYU

Massachusetts (2-9) at Hawaii (5-7; 4-4)- 11:59
Pick: Hawaii
