2016 NFL Week 9 Picks

Here are my picks for week nine of the 2016 NFL season.

Thursday, November 3rd
Atlanta Falcons (5-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4)- 8:25, NFLN: This should be an interesting Thursday night divisional game. Atlanta is coming off a big home win over the a Green Bay Packers. Tampa Bay is coming off a brutal overtime home loss against the Oakland Raiders. Both teams can score, but both teams also aren't good defensively either. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will be the difference here as they'll earn a big divisional primetime road win.
Prediction: Atlanta 30, Tampa Bay 26.

Sunday, November 6th
Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) vs Baltimore Ravens (3-4)- 1:00, CBS: This is a huge game for two teams coming off their byes. Two weeks ago, Pittsburgh lost at home against the New England Patriots and Baltimore lost in East Rutherford against the Jets. There are reports that Ben Rothlisberger could return this week, but as of right now I'll take the Ravens at home. If Rothlisberger comes back, this pick will in all likelihood change.
Prediction: Baltimore 20, Pittsburgh 17.

Dallas Cowboys (6-1) vs Cleveland Browns (0-8)- 1:00, FOX: Dallas is coming off a terrific Sunday night overtime divisional home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Cleveland is coming off a home loss against the New York Jets in which they had a 20-7 lead in. It still looks like Dak Prescott is the man behind center and I believe he'll continue his fine play against the hapless Browns.
Prediction: Dallas 30, Cleveland 20.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)- 1:00, CBS: Jacksonville is coming off a bad Thursday night divisional road loss against the Tennessee Titans. Kansas City is coming off a solid road win in Indianapolis against the Colts despite losing Alex Smith and due to what was speculated as a concussion. Smith should be good to go this week against the Jags and because of that the Chiefs are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Kansas City 33, Jacksonville 17.

New York Jets (3-5) vs Miami Dolphins (3-4)- 1:00, CBS: The Jets are coming off a comeback victory in Cleveland against the Browns. Miami is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they defeated the Buffalo Bills at home. The Dolphins winning back to back games has been led by their offensive line getting healthier and the emergence of Jay Ajayi and I believe that continues here against the Jets.
Prediction: Miami 26, NY Jets 24.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) vs New York Giants (4-3)- 1:00, FOX: Philadelphia is coming off a heartbreaking Sunday night overtime divisional road loss in Arlington against the Cowboys. The Giants are coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won an ugly game in London against the Los Angeles Rams. This game has big playoff implications and I like that Big Blue is coming off their bye and they had more to prepare, so give me the Giants in a thriller.
Prediction: NY Giants 27, Philadelphia 24.

Detroit Lions (4-4) vs Minnesota Vikings (5-2)- 1:00, FOX: Detroit is coming off a tough road loss in Houston against the Texans. Minnesota is coming off a bad Monday night divisional road loss in Chicago against the Bears. I like Sam Bradford and the Vikings to rebound here at home against an inconsistent Lions team.
Prediction: Minnesota 26, Detroit 20.

Carolina Panthers (2-5) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-4)- 4:05, FOX: Carolina is coming off a much-needed home win over the Arizona Cardinals. Los Angeles is coming off their bye week and two weeks ago, they lost in London against the New York Giants. Case Keenum has been very inconsistent all season and I don't trust him against a Panthers team that's going to keep playing desperate.
Prediction: Carolina 27, Los Angeles 17.

New Orleans Saints (3-4) vs San Francisco 49ers (1-6)- 4:05, FOX: New Orleans is coming off a big home win against the Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This game screams "trap" for the Saints, so give me Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers to pull off the home upset.
Prediction: San Francisco 23, New Orleans 20.

Tennessee Titans (4-4) vs San Diego Chargers (3-5)- 4:25, CBS: Tennessee is coming off a nice Thursday night divisional home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. San Diego is coming off a tough divisional road loss in Denver against the Broncos. This game could go either way, but give me Phillip Rivers and the Chargers at home.
Prediction: San Diego 27, Tennessee 26.

Indianapolis Colts (3-5) vs Green Bay Packers (4-3)- 4:25, CBS: Indianapolis is coming off a disappointing home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay is coming off a tough road loss in Atlanta against Falcons. Andrew Luck can keep the Colts in this one, but I doubt the defense can stop Aaron Rodgers, especially in Lambeau.
Prediction: Green Bay 37, Indianapolis 24.

Denver Broncos (6-2) vs Oakland Raiders (6-2)- 8:30, NBC: This is certainly the best game of the weekend between these divisional rivals. Denver is coming off a great divisional home win over the San Diego Chargers. Oakland is coming off big overtime road win in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers. Derek Carr looks like an MVP candidate for the first half of the season and he'll make the big plays against the Broncos defense to lead the Raiders into sole possession of first place.
Prediction: Oakland 27, Denver 23.

Monday, November 7th
Buffalo Bills (4-4) vs Seattle Seahawks (4-2-1)- 8:30, ESPN: Buffalo is coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the New England Patriots. Seattle is coming off a disappointing road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. I love the Seahawks to bounce back here against a Bills team that is free-falling.
Prediction: Seattle 31, Buffalo 16.
