Here are my midseason awards for the 2016 NFL season.
MVP: Tom Brady, New England Patriots: Yes, the Patriots went 3-1 in his absence, but he deserves a ton of credit for carrying the Pats to the top of the AFC East. He has been nothing short of amazing since he's come back from his suspension.
Runner up: Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders
Offensive Player of the Year: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys: Elliott has been amazing in his rookie season and is already the best running back in the league. He and fellow rookie Dak Prescott deserve credit for lifting the Cowboys to the leagues best record.
Runner up: Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Defensive Player of the Year: Von Miller, Denver Broncos: With JJ Watt out, Miller has to be the choice here. He has helped lead a great defense for the reigning Super Bowl champs.
Runner up: Marcus Peters, Kansas City Chiefs
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Elliott. See above.
Runner up: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Joey Bosa, San Diego Chargers: So much for the holdout. Bosa has has an immediate impact on a defense that lacks good pass rushers.
Runner up: Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville Jaguars
Coach of the Year: Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys: When Tony Romo went down, I don't think anyone would have thought that the Cowboys would have the best record in football. Garrett deserves credit for that although the attention will be towards Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
Runner up: Bill Belichick, New England Patriots
