2019 NFL Mock Draft: Eighth Edition

Here is the eighth edition of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Arizona Cardinals- Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle, Alabama: I had Nick Bosa penciled in this spot for a majority of my mock drafts, but the more I think about it, the more Williams makes sense. The Cardinals already have Chandler Jones as an edge rusher and have a bigger need in the interior which makes Williams a great fit.

2. San Francisco 49ers- Nick Bosa, Defensive End, Ohio State: Getting the best player in the draft is always a win for whomever drafts the player. Bosa would be an upgrade over any of the pass rushers currently on the Niners roster and he would have an immediate impact like Myles Garrett did a few years back with the Browns.

3. New York Jets- Josh Allen, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Kentucky: Allen is the one player that was a huge riser from the summer until now. The Jets have a need for immediate impact talent (and versatility) on the defensive side of the ball and Allen would be a great fit.

4. Oakland Raiders- Jacahi Polite, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Florida: Polite is someone coming off a breakthrough year in college and his draft stock rose in light of it. The Raiders need a lot of help with edge rushers to replace Khalil Mack, meanwhile Polite is a reach here, it could pay off if he lives up to the potential we saw in college.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Rashan Gary, Defensive End, Michigan: The Buccaneers have a major need at edge rusher with Jason Pierre-Paul aging and Vinny Curry released. Here they take someone with a ton of potential with Gary, who didn't live up to his #1 top 100 prospect billing he was given in high school.

6. New York Giants- Dwayne Haskins, Quarterback, Ohio State: Eli Manning's days of being a good starting quarterback in the league are over and his future is uncertain at this point. Haskins handing the ball off to Saquon Barkley and throwing it to Odell Beckham Jr would only jumpstart his career and it would be fun to watch.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Drew Lock, Quarterback, Missouri: I had Kyler Murray here for some of my mock's, but Lock has drawn some looks from Tom Coughlin and the Jags front office. Lock has a very good arm and he had a good finish to his final collegiate season.

8. Detroit Lions- Greedy Williams, Cornerback, LSU: Williams is the best corner in the draft and the Lions could use another athlete in the secondary to go with Darius Slay. A pass rusher is probably the more pressing need if they lose Ziggy Ansah in free agency, but Williams would not be a bad selection either.

9. Buffalo Bills- Jonah Williams, Offensive Tackle, Alabama: The Bills biggest need is to get protection for Josh Allen. Snagging the best offensive linemen in the draft is a huge win for this team going forward and it could help Allen develop into the franchise quarterback they thought they were getting when they traded up a year ago.

10. Denver Broncos- Devin White, Inside Linebacker, LSU: The Broncos should probably try to trade up to select a quarterback or if one falls to them, but I don't see that with the acquisition of Joe Flacco. White was the best linebacker in the country this past season and he would be a fine selection.

11. Cincinnati Bengals- Cody Ford, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma: The Bengals are as team that has options with this pick. A need is on the offensive line and Ford is someone that folks think he might have to move to guard in order to succeed, but it's a pick worth making.

12. Green Bay Packers- T.J. Hockenson, Tight End, Iowa: Jimmy Graham isn't the same player he once was in New Orleans so the Packers should snag a fast rising tight end in Hockenson. He's a good blocker and has drawn comparisons to George Kittle of the 49ers.

13. Miami Dolphins- Kyler Murray, Quarterback, Oklahoma: I do think the Dolphins like next years quarterback class better, but they seem ready to move on from Ryan Tannehill. Murray has officially chosen football over baseball and his is a sure fire first round pick and I can see the Dolphins taking a chance.

14. Atlanta Falcons- Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston: Oliver was once projected a top-five pick and his stock has dropped dramatically, so there's a chance Oliver is a steal at this point. The Falcons could lose Gardy Jarrett in free agency, so a defensive lineman at this spot makes sense.

15. Washington Redskins- Daniel Jones, Quarterback, Duke: With Alex Smith's future uncertain, the Skins take perhaps their future franchise quarterback in Jones. His stock has risen with a good showing in the Senior Bowl and it sure seems like he's a sure fire first round pick.

16. Carolina Panthers- Montez Sweat, Defensive End, Mississippi State: Some might feel that this is a reach, but Sweat's stock has risen recently after a good Senior Bowl. Sweat posted double digit sack seasons two years in a row and he's a solid run defender too.

17. Cleveland Browns- Deandre Baker, Cornerback, Georgia: The Browns have a very good roster so all they have to do is tinker. Baker is someone that can come in and play with Denzel Ward and form a great secondary.

18. Minnesota Vikings- Jawaan Taylor, Offensive Tackle, Florida: The Vikings were arguably the leagues most disappointing team this past season and there biggest issue was protecting Kirk Cousins. Taylor would at least help the Vikings offensive line and find holes for Dalvin Cook.

19. Tennessee Titans- Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson: Here's the second of the three Clemson defensive lineman to go off the board. Wilkins on the same front seven as Jurell Casey is a scary proposition.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Byron Murphy, Cornerback, Washington: Murphy falling this far would be a
steal for the Steelers. Yes, they absolutely need a wide receiver with the pending departure of Antonio Brown, but this wouldn't be a bad option considering their secondary isn't great either.

21. Seattle Seahawks- Dionte Thompson, Safety, Alabama: Thompson would be a steal dropping this far. "Legion of Boom" is gone in The Emerald City and drafting the best safety in the draft would be great for Pete Carroll's young secondary.

22. Baltimore Ravens- Kelvin Hamron, Wide Receiver, North Carolina State: The Ravens have more needs in terms of offensive playmakers more than any team that made the playoffs last season. Hamron would be a nice weapon for Lamar Jackson, who needs a downfield threat guy to help his development.

23. Houston Texans- Dalton Risner, Offensive Tackle, Kansas State: Cornerback is another Texans big need, but DeShaun Watson badly needs protection and Risner would help the problem. The Texans have the worst offensive line perhaps in the sport and that should be the teams top priority this offseason.

24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)- DK Metclaf, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss: The Raiders can use some young blood at the skill positions on offense to help Derek Carr out. Metclaf is a sure fire first round talent who could end up the best receiver of this draft class.

25. Philadelphia Eagles- Josh Jacobs, Running Back, Alabama: The Eagles do have a ton of running backs, but none of them that are great. Jacobs has potential to be great and would be a nice backfield option for Carson Wentz.

26. Indianapolis Colts- N'Keal Harry, Wide Receiver, Arizona State: The Colts suddenly look like a team that has a look of a contender. A defensive player is the wiser choice but Andrew Luck needs another reliable wideout other than TY Hilton and Harry could be that.

27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)- Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson: The Raiders fix the interior with their final first round pick with Wilkins. This would be a slam dunk steal pick by Jon Gruden and Mike Maycock.

28. Los Angeles Chargers- Dexter Lawrence, Defensive Tackle, Clemson: The third Clemson defensive lineman off the board here is Lawrence and this would be a steal of a pick by the Chargers. Lawrence on the same defensive line as Joey Bosa is very scary.

29. Kansas City Chiefs- Nassir Adderley, Safety, Delaware: The Chiefs can use talent at every position of the defensive side of the ball, especially the secondary. Adderley is a fast riser thanks to a strong Senior Bowl and he'd be a solid choice here.

30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints)- Devin Bush, Inside Linebacker, Michigan: Bush is someone who's stock is rising of late who has first round talent. The Packers have a need of youth with the linebacker position with Clay Matthews aging and Bush would be a solid fit.

31. Los Angeles Rams- Jerry Tillery, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame: The Rams have a lot of guys that are headed to free agency in March, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Tillery is someone who is gaining traction as a possible first round pick and with Ndamokung Suh a pending free agent, Tillery would be a fine replacement.

32. New England Patriots- AJ Brown, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss: The Patriots would probably better off picking a defensive player here, but knowing Bill Belichick I can see him doing something different. Brown would be another nice weapon for Tom Brady as he is in the twilight of his career.

2019 NFL Mock Draft: Seventh Edition

Here is the seventh edition of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Arizona Cardinals- Nick Bosa, Defensive End, Ohio State: Bosa is the best player in this draft and certainly has a chance to be a multi-time All-Pro player. The Cardinals have needs everywhere on their roster other than a quarterback and getting a possible franchise player to lead your pass rush to go with Chandler Jones is very enticing.

2. San Francisco 49ers- Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle, Alabama: Williams was an intimidating presence in the middle of the Tide's defensive line the past few seasons. The Niners have some talent on their defensive line with DeForest Buckner and Solomon Thomas and adding Williams to those guys would only make that unit stronger.

3. New York Jets- Josh Allen, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Kentucky: The Jets get a possible steal here with Allen after Bosa and Williams get picked first and second, respectively. The Jets are a team that needs more athletes on the defensive side of the ball and this is a great fit.

4. Oakland Raiders- Rashan Gary, Defensive End, Michigan: The Raiders begin to build their pass rush by selecting Gary, who didn't really live up to his number one overall prospect ranking he was given in high school. If Gary produces in the pros, this will turn out to be a great selection as they would finally replace Khalil Mack.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jonah Williams, Offensive Tackle, Alabama: Williams was the best lineman perhaps in the country this season and did a great job protecting Tua Tagovailoa. The Bucs bigger needs lie on defense but passing up on a possible future All-Pro offensive lineman to protect Jameis Winston would not be great.

6. New York Giants- Dwayne Haskins, Quarterback, Ohio State: Eli Manning's days of being a good starting quarterback in the league are over and his future is uncertain at this point. Haskins handing

the ball off to Saquon Barkley and throwing it to Odell Beckham Jr would only jumpstart his career and it would be fun to watch.

8. Detroit Lions- Defensive End, Clemson: The Lions have a need at the position if Ziggy Ansah departs in free agency so this pick makes sense. Dabo Sweeney has three talented defensive lineman slated to go in the fist round and Ferrell here is the first off the board.

9. Buffalo Bills- Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston: Oliver was once projected a top-five pick and his stock has dropped dramatically, so there's a chance Oliver is a steal at this point. The Bills need more help on the offensive line rather than the defensive line, but the retirement of Kyle Williams opened up a hole that Oliver can facilitate.

10. Denver Broncos- Greedy Williams, Cornerback, LSU: Williams is the best corner in the draft and the Broncos have a need here with a few of their corners slated to become free agents. A quarterback is probably the more wiser choice, but it's more unlikely now with the acquisition of Joe Flacco.

11. Cincinnati Bengals- Devin White, Linebacker, LSU: White was the best linebacker in the country this past season and he would be a fine selection. Vontaze Burfict is injury prone now a days and Preston Brown is a free agent, so White would provide some energy to an aging Bengals defense.

14. Atlanta Falcons- Montez Sweat, Defensive End, Mississippi State: Some might feel that this is a reach, but Sweat's stock has risen recently after a good Senior Bowl. Sweat posted double digit sack seasons two years in a row and he's a solid run defender too.

16. Carolina Panthers- Jacahi Polite, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Florida: Polite is someone coming off a breakthrough year in college and his draft stock rose in light of it. The Panthers have a bigger need at the offensive line, but it wouldn't be shocking of them to take the talented pass rusher.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Byron Murphy, Cornerback, Washington: Murphy falling this far would be a steal for the Steelers. Yes, they absolutely need a wide receiver with the pending departure of Antonio Brown, but this wouldn't be a bad option considering their secondary isn't great either.

21. Seattle Seahawks- Nassir Adderley, Safety, Delaware: Adderley is someone who's stock is rapidly rising by the week with his good Senior Bowl performance. He's not even considered the best safety in the draft, but the Seahawks have a need at the position and I can see Pete Carroll rolling the dice here.

22. Baltimore Ravens- DK Metclaf, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss: Metclaf is someone who could wind up a steal from this spot. This would be a nice weapon for Lamar Jackson, who needs a downfield threat guy to help his development.

24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)- Marquise Brown, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma: The Raiders can use some young blood at the skill positions on offense to help Derek Carr out. Brown could be a first rounder or even a day two draft pick depending on how the draft goes.

25. Philadelphia Eagles- Josh Jacobs, Running Back, Alabama: The Eagles do have a ton of running backs, but none of them that are great. Jacobs has potential to be great and would be a nice backfield option for Carson Wentz (or Nick Foles).

26. Indianapolis Colts- Kelvin Hamron, Wide Receiver, North Carolina State: The Colts suddenly look like a team that has a look of a contender. A defensive player is the wiser choice but Andrew Luck needs another reliable wideout other than TY Hilton and Harmon could be that.

27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)- Jaylon Ferguson, Defensive End, Lousiana Tech: Ferguson is someone who is a fast riser due to a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. The Raiders need more than one guy on that edge rush to replace what Khalil Mack brought to them and this would be a nice gamble with their final first rounder.

28. Los Angeles Chargers- Jerry Tillery, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame: The Chargers defensive front was exposed in their playoff defeat against the Patriots and bolstering the interior would be wise. Tillery is someone who's stock is rising and is worth the selection here.

29. Kansas City Chiefs- Dionte Thompson, Safety, Alabama: The consensus top safety in this draft dropping this far would be a mega steal. The Chiefs are obviously a team with a dire need of defensive talent, especially in the secondary.

30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints)- Mack Wilson, Linebacker, Alabama: The Packers are another team that needs youth sporadically around their defense, especially with stopping the run. Wilson would be a good addition to the linebacking corps to strengthen that unit.

31. Los Angeles Rams- Dexter Lawrence, Defensive End, Clemson: Three Clemson players are expected to go in the first round and Lawrence could wind up the best one of the trio. He reminds me of current Eagle Fletcher Cox and the thought of him and Aaron Donald on the interior is scary.

32. New England Patriots- AJ Brown, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss: The Patriots would probably better off picking a defensive player here, but knowing Bill Belichick I can see him doing something different. Brown would be another nice weapon for Tom Brady as he is in the twilight of his career.

2019 NFL Mock Draft: Sixth Edition

Here is the sixth edition of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Arizona Cardinals- Nick Bosa, Defensive End, Ohio State: Last mock draft, I had Quinnen Williams here, but Bosa is the best player in this draft and certainly has a chance to be a multi-time All-Pro player. The Cardinals have needs everywhere on their roster other than a quarterback and getting a possible franchise player to lead your pass rush to go with Chandler Jones is very enticing.

2. San Francisco 49ers- Josh Allen, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Kentucky: Allen was the key kog to a Wildcats defense which rode the team to a phenomenal season. His draft stock has risen dramatically throughout the season and the 49ers are a logical fit because they need an edge rusher.

3. New York Jets- Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle, Alabama: Williams was an intimidating presence in the middle of the Tide's defensive line the past few seasons. The Jets have a ton of needs so they can build around Sam Darnold and the defensive line is somewhere where they have talent that hasn't panned out yet and putting Williams alongside Leonard Williams would be fun.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Drew Lock, Quarterback, Missouri: I had Kyler Murray here for most of my mock's, but Lock has drawn some looks from Tom Coughlin and the Jags front office.

10. Denver Broncos- Kyler Murray, Quarterback, Oklahoma: Yes the Broncos just agreed in principle to trade for Joe Flacco, but that doesn't mean they won't draft a quarterback with this pick. They should take Murray, who is sticking with football for good and let him learn under Flacco just like Lamar Jackson did a year ago.

11. Cincinnati Bengals- Devin White, Linebacker, LSU: White was the best linebacker in the country this past season and he would be a fine selection. Vontaze Burfict is injury prone now a days and Preston Brown is a free agent, so White would provide some energy to an aging Bengals defense.

12. Green Bay Packers- Jacahi Polite, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Florida: Polite is someone coming off a breakthrough year in college and his draft stock rose in light of it. The Packers can use some high upside players on their pass rush with Clay Matthews aging although secondary is arguably the more pressing need.

13. Miami Dolphins- Daniel Jones, Quarterback, Duke: I do think the Dolphins like next years quarterback class better, but they seem ready to move on from Ryan Tannehill. Jones is a very fast riser thanks to a strong showing at the Senior Bowl and I can see Miami taking a chance here.

14. Atlanta Falcons- Clelin Ferrell, Defensive End, Clemson: The Falcons have a need at the position if Gardy Jarrett departs in free agency so this pick makes sense. Dabo Sweeney has three talented defensive lineman slated to go in the fist round and Ferrell here is the first off the board.

15. Washington Redskins- Montez Sweat, Defensive End, Mississippi State: Some might have felt that this was a reach, but Sweat's stock has risen recently after a good Senior Bowl that this could wind up a steal. Sweat posted double digit sack seasons two years in a row and he's a solid run defender too.

16. Carolina Panthers- Cody Ford, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma: Cam Newton has had trouble staying healthy the last few seasons, so offensive line should be the Panthers priority. Ford is all over the place on peoples mock boards, but here I have him mocked as a mid-first rounder.

17. Cleveland Browns- Yodny Cajuste, Offensive Tackle, West Virginia: Guess what? The Browns actually have a good roster so they don't have any obvious needs! Where they can use some help is offensive line as their tackles aren't good and Cajuste could end up as a good left tackle to help protect Baker Mayfield.

18. Minnesota Vikings- Dalton Risner, Offensive Tackle, Kansas State: The Vikings were arguably the leagues most disappointing team this past season and there biggest issue was protecting Kirk Cousins. Ford would at least help the Vikings offensive line and find holes for Dalvin Cook.

19. Tennessee Titans- Byron Murphy, Cornerback, Washington: Murphy falling this far would be a pretty big steal for the Titans. Yes, they already heave a good secondary with Malcolm Butler and Kevin Bayrd there, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to add another talented young defensive back to that group in Murphy.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Deandre Baker, Cornerback, Georgia: The Steelers need a wide receiver due to the impending departure of Antonio Brown, but this time around I have a corner mocked here with Baker. He would bring athleticism and energy to secondary that could use some of that.

21. Seattle Seahawks- Dionte Thompson, Safety, Alabama: Thompson would be a steal dropping this far. "Legion of Boom" is gone in The Emerald City and drafting the best safety in the draft would be great for Pete Carroll's young secondary.

22. Baltimore Ravens- K'Neal Harry, Wide Receiver, Arizona State: Harry is someone who could wind up a steal from this spot. This would be a nice weapon for Lamar Jackson, who needs a downfield threat guy to help his development.

23. Houston Texans- Jawaan Taylor, Offensive Tackle, Florida: Cornerback is another Texans big need, but DeShaun Watson badly needs protection and Taylor would help the problem. The Texans have the worst offensive line perhaps in the sport and that should be the teams top priority this offseason.

24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)- Josh Jacobs, Running Back, Alabama: The Raiders offensive play makers are aging and Jacobs would be a solid fit. He draws comparisons to Alvin Kamara and he would be an upgrade over Doug Martin and Marhsawn Lynch.

25. Philadelphia Eagles- Dexter Lawrence, Defensive Tackle, Clemson: Three Clemson players are expected to go in the first round and Lawrence could wind up the best one of the trio. He reminds me of current Eagle Fletcher Cox and the thought of those two on the interior together is scary.

26. Indianapolis Colts- Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson: Dabo Sweeney has three great defensive lineman who project to go in the first round. Wilkins could be an immediate starter for Frank Reich on the defense, which needs some more playmakers on the line.

27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)- T.J. Hockenson, Tight End, Iowa: Jared Cook is a free agent, so it would make sense for the Raiders to replace him with Hockenson. He is a fast riser and would be a nice piece for Derek Carr in that offense.

28. Los Angeles Chargers- Mack Wilson, Linebacker, Alabama: The Chargers do have a ton of playmakers on defense, but their defense was exposed against the Patriots and need more help defending the run. Wilson would be a good addition to the linebacking corps to strengthen that unit.

29. Kansas City Chiefs- Nassir Adderley, Safety, Delaware: The Chiefs can use talent at every position of the defensive side of the ball, especially the secondary. Adderley is a fast riser thanks to a strong Senior Bowl and he'd be a solid choice here.

30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints)- Noah Fant, Tight End, Iowa: Jimmy Graham isn't the same player he once was in New Orleans so the Packers should snag the best tight end in this draft class in Fant. He is very athletic and he can have a similar impact as Dallas Goedert did as a rookie with the Eagles this season.

31. Los Angeles Rams- Jaylon Ferguson, Defensive End, Lousiana Tech: Ferguson is someone who is a fast riser due to a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. The Rams have a need at pass rusher with Dante Fowler Jr heading to free agency and they don't have the cap room to resign him so this makes Ferguson a solid pick.

32. New England Patriots- Trayvon Mullen, Cornerback, Clemson: Mullen is a fast riser as of right now and this is a possible need pick depending on Jason McCourty's future with the team. A pass rusher or even a possible Tom Brady successor here is in play as well.

2019 NFL Mock Draft: Fifth Edition

Here is the fifth edition of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

Haskins handing the ball off to Saquon Barkley and throwing it to Odell Beckham Jr would only jumpstart his career and it would be fun to watch.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Drew Lock, Quarterback, Missouri: I had Kyler Murray here the last few mock's, but Lock has drawn some looks from Tom Coughlin and the Jags front office. Lock has a very good arm and he had a good finish to his final collegiate season.

8. Detroit Lions- Clelin Ferrell, Defensive End, Clemson: The Lions have a need at the position if Iggy Ansah departs in free agency so this pick makes sense. Dabo Sweeney has three talented defensive lineman slated to go in the fist round and Ferrell here is the first off the board.

9. Buffalo Bills- Jawaan Taylor, Offensive Tackle, Florida: The Bills biggest need is to get protection for Josh Allen. Taylor is one of the fast risers from the Senior Bowl and he would be a big help for Allen and that Bills offensive line.

10. Denver Broncos- Kyler Murray, Quarterback, Oklahoma: I've had Drew Lock here the past few mock's, but here I decide to mock Murray, who the Broncos do like. Murray declared for the draft and I believe he'll stick to football and end up a top ten pick.

11. Cincinnati Bengals- Greedy Williams, Cornerback, LSU: Williams is the best corner in the draft and the Bengals snagging him here would be a win. They have an aging defense and Williams will provide much needed energy and youth to that secondary.

12. Green Bay Packers- Devin White, Linebacker, LSU: White was the best linebacker in the country this past season and he would be a fine selection. Clay Matthews is aging and someone as talented as White would be a find replacement.

14. Atlanta Falcons- Jeffery Simmons, Defensive Tackle, Mississippi State: Simmons is someone else that has risen fast of late. The Falcons could have a need at the position if Gardy Jarrett departs in free agency on that defensive line.

15. Washington Redskins- Montez Sweat, Defensive End, Mississippi State: Some might feel that this is a reach, but Sweat's stock has risen recently after a good Senior Bowl. Sweat posted double digit sack seasons two years in a row and he's a solid run defender too.

16. Carolina Panthers- Yodny Cajuste, Offensive Tackle, West Virginia: Cam Newton has had trouble staying healthy the last few seasons, so offensive line should be the Panthers priority. Cajuste is all over the place on peoples mock boards, but here I have him mocked as a mid-first rounder.

17. Cleveland Browns- Cody Ford, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma: Guess what? The Browns actually have a good roster so they don't have any obvious needs! Where they can use some help is offensive line as their tackles aren't good and Ford could end up as a good left tackle to help protect Baker Mayfield.

18. Minnesota Vikings- Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston: Oliver was once projected a top-five pick and his stock has dropped dramatically, so there's a chance Oliver is a steal. The Vikings could use a defensive tackle, especially it Sheldon Richardson walks in free agency.

19. Tennessee Titans- Byron Murphy, Cornerback, Washington: Murphy falling this far would be a steal for the Titans. They do not have a need in the secondary with Malcolm Butler and Kevin Byard still around, but it would not be a bad idea to get a young corner in there.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Marquise Brown, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma: The Steelers have a huge possible need at wide receiver with an Antonio Brown exit looming more likely by the day. Brown would be a nice fit to replace Brown in that offense.

21. Seattle Seahawks- Dionte Thompson, Safety, Alabama: Thompson would be a steal dropping this far. "Legion of Boom" is gone in The Emerald City and drafting the best safety in the draft would be great for Pete Carroll's young secondary.

22. Baltimore Ravens- DK Metclaf, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss: Metlcaf is someone who could wind up a steal from this spot. This would be a nice weapon for Lamar Jackson, who needs a downfield threat guy to help his development.

23. Houston Texans- Greg Little, Offensive Tackle, Ole Miss: Cornerback is another Texans big need, but DeShaun Watson badly needs protection and Little would help the problem. The Texans have the worst offensive line perhaps in the sport and that should be the teams top priority this offseason.

24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)- Deandre Baker, Cornerback, Georgia: The Raiders have a ton of young players and none of them have panned out yet. Baker is one of the best 3 corners in the draft which makes this a fine selection by Jon Gruden and Mike Maycock.

27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)- Josh Jacobs, Running Back, Alabama: The Raiders offensive play makers are aging and Jacobs would be a solid fit. He draws comparisons to Alvin Kamara and he would be an upgrade over Doug Martin and Marhsawn Lynch.

28. Los Angeles Chargers- Dalton Risner, Offensive Tackle, Kansas State: Phillip Rivers has shown zero signs of decline of late and some protection on the offensive line would be smart with some of that unit aging. A defensive player would have been a wise choice, but so would Risner.

29. Kansas City Chiefs- Jacahi Polite, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Florida: Polite is someone coming off a breakthrough year in college and his draft stock rose in light of it. The Chiefs need some high upside players on their defense, especially versatile players.

30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints)- T.J. Hockenson, Tight End, Iowa: Jimmy Graham isn't the same player he once was in New Orleans so the Packers should snag a fast rising tight end in Hockenson. He's a good blocker and has drawn comparisons to George Kittle of the 49ers.

31. Los Angeles Rams- Nasir Adderley, Safety, Delaware: Adderley is a fast riser thanks to a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. The Rams may have a need at safety if LaMarcus Joyner departs in free agency and Adderley could be worth a shot here.

32. New England Patriots- Noah Fant, Tight End, Iowa: Rob Gronkowski's future is very uncertain at this point with all of the injuries he's dealt with, the Pats take his possible successor in Fant. He's the best tight end in the draft and would have an instant impact in Bill Belichick's offense.

2018 NFL Season Awards

Here are my awards for the 2018 NFL season.

MVP: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Mahomes had a coming out party and it couldn't have gone any better for him. He was fantastic throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdown passes and I'm sure he'll be an MVP contender for years to come.
Runner up: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Offensive Player of the Year: Mahomes. See above.
Runner up: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys

Defensive Player of the Year: Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams: Donald is a dominant force on the interior as he should win this award a second straight season. He's the leader of the Rams defense and will be for years to come.
Runner up: Khalil Mack, Chicago Bears

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Saquon Barkley, New York Giants: Barkley was outstanding in his rookie season breaking rookie records for most scrimmage yards and most touchdowns. Some people still feel that the Giants should have taken a quarterback over Barkley, but Barkley is a can't miss generational talent who is going to be great for a long time.
Runner up: Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Darius Leonard, Indianapolis Colts: The Colts found themselves a foundational piece in the second round with Leonard, which I initially thought was a reach. I was proven wrong and he was a tackles machine for them and will be around for a long time.
Runner up: Derwin James, Los Angeles Chargers

Coach of the Year: Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears: Ryan Pace seems to have nailed his coaching hire with Nagy, who was tremendous in his first season with the Bears. Certainly the addition of Khalil Mack changed the teams outlook but a division title and a 12-4 record is something to be proud of.
Runner up: Pete Carroll, Seattle Seahawks

Comeback Player of the Year: Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: Luck was sensational in his first full season in a long time and reminded folks around the league that he is still among the games elite. He deserves a ton of the credit for taking the Colts to the divisional round.
Runner up: JJ Watt, Houston Texans

Super Bowl LIII Prediction

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick won their first Super Bowl against the than St. Louis Rams and now they play the Los Angeles Rams in their third season back in Los Angeles. Will they defeat the Rams in what could be their last Super Bowl or will the upstart Rams win their first Super Bowl in twenty years? Here is my prediction for Super Bowl LII.

(A2) New England Patriots vs (N2) Los Angeles Rams: This game could be an instant classic or a dud. It feels like one of those types of games. The Patriots are coming off a great AFC Championshup game overtime win in Kansas City against the upstart Chiefs and MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes. The Rams are coming off their NFC Championship game overtime win in New Orleans against the Saints in which the Rams took advantage of the well documented no-call in order to get here. This is Tom Brady and the Patriots third Super Bowl in a row and their fourth in five seasons. The Rams are here for the first time in twenty years. The Patriots offense is formidable with Brady with his running back trio in Sony Michel, James White, and Rex Burkhead and his receivers in Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, and Phillip Dorsett along with Rob Gronkowski, who may retire after the year. The Rams offense is great when Todd Gurley is healthy, but his uncertain health opened the door for CJ Anderson to have an impact in the playoffs. Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, and Josh Reynolds are a solid receiving trio with two sneaky good tight ends in Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett. Both the Pats and Rams offensive lines have been outstanding throughout the playoffs. The Rams have the better of the two front sevens led by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. Both teams secondary's are solid with the Pats led by Stefon Gilmore, Patrick Chung, and the McCourty brothers and with the Rams led by Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and LaMarcus Joyner. That said, I just cannot see the Patriots losing the Super Bowl two straight years, although I believe that this years Rams team is better than the reigning champion Eagles.

Prediction: New England 37, LA Rams 30.

Super Bowl MVP: Tom Brady
