2017 NFL Week 4 Picks

Here are my picks for week 4 of the 2017 NFL season.

Thursday, September 28th
Chicago Bears (1-2) vs Green Bay Packers (2-1)- 8:25, CBS : The Bears are coming off a nice overtime home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers are also coming off an overtime home win, except it was over the Cincinnati Bengals. I can totally see the Bears having a letdown here on the road against a Packers team that almost lost to a bad Bengals team.
Prediction: Green Bay 30, Chicago 16.

Sunday, October 1st
New Orleans Saints (1-2) vs Miami Dolphins (1-1)- 9:30, FOX (London): The Saints are coming off a nice divisional road win in Charlotte against the Panthers. The Dolphins are coming off a hideous divisional road loss in East Rutherford against the Jets. This was a tough game to pick, but give me Drew Brees to lead the Saints back to the .500 mark.
Prediction: New Orleans 33, Miami 24.

Buffalo Bills (2-1) vs Atlanta Falcons (3-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming off a nice home win over the Denver Broncos. The Falcons are coming off a nice road win in Detroit against the Lions in a game they should have lost quite frankly. I love them here at home against a Bills team that will have a letdown after the upset win last week.
Prediction: Atlanta 34, Buffalo 17.

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) vs Baltimore Ravens (2-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Steelers are coming off a tough overtime road loss in Chicago against the Bears. The Ravens are coming off an a disastrous loss in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. I like the Ravens to bounce back here at home in a close one led by their defense.
Prediction: Baltimore 20, Pittsburgh 17.

Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) vs Cleveland Browns (0-3)- 1:00, CBS: Here we have a battle of two winless teams from the same division. The Bengals are coming off a tough overtime road loss in Green Bay against the Packers. The Browns are coming off a road loss in Indianapolis against the Colts. This was another tough call, but give me the Browns to somehow pull this out at home.
Prediction: Cleveland 13, Cincinnati 10.

Los Angeles Rams (2-1) vs Dallas Cowboys (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Rams are coming off a Thursday night divisional road win in Santa Clara against the 49ers and they probably should have lost that game considering the 49ers missed an extra point and failed to convert some 2-point conversions. The Cowboys are coming off a nice bounce back win in Glendale against the Cardinals on Monday night after the hideous performance in week 2 in Denver. I like the Cowboys here again at home.
Prediction: Dallas 30, LA Rams 20.

Tennessee Titans (2-1) vs Houston Texans (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Titans are coming off a nice home win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Texans are coming off a heartbreaking road loss in Foxboro against the Patriots. The Texans should be happy with their performance despite the loss last week and I believe they'll bounce back here at home to get back to the .500 mark.
Prediction: Houston 23, Tennessee 20.

Detroit Lions (2-1) vs Minnesota Vikings (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Lions are coming off a tough home loss against the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings are coming off an impressive home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and they were without Sam Bradford again. This was a tough call, but the Vikings at home usually seem to rise to the occasion, especially against their division foes so give me the Vikings here regardless of who starts at quarterback.
Prediction: Minnesota 24, Detroit 20.

Carolina Panthers (2-1) vs New England Patriots (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Panthers are coming off a dismal divisional home loss against the New Orleans Saints. The Patriots are coming off a great home win over the Houston Texans. The Panthers are worse than their record and that will show against a Pats team that nearly lost a week ago.
Prediction: New England 33, Carolina 20.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) vs New York Jets (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Jags are coming off a dominant win in London over the Baltimore Ravens. The Jets are coming off a divisional home win over the Miami Dolphins. I don't feel good about this pick, but I think the Jets shockingly get to .500 here with a win over a Jags team that I see having a letdown and I can see Blake Bortles turning the football over which doesn't help them.
Prediction: NY Jets 16, Jacksonville 13.

San Francisco 49ers (0-3) vs Arizona Cardinals (1-2)- 4:05, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a close Thursday night divisional home loss against the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals are coming off a Monday night home loss against the Dallas Cowboys. I like the Cards to bounce back here at home against a somewhat frisky Niners team.
Prediction: Arizona 24, San Francisco 13.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) vs Los Angeles Chargers (0-3)- 4:05, FOX: The Eagles are coming off a divisional home win over the New York Giants in which it took a 61-yard field goal as time expired to pull it out. The Chargers are coming off a divisional home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. I like the Eagles here on the road in a tight one, but I can't rule out the Chargers here.
Prediction: Philadelphia 24, San Diego 23.

New York Giants (0-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)- 4:05, FOX: The Giants are coming off a heartbreaking divisional road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles thanks to a 61-yard field goal as time expired. The Bucs are coming off a dismal road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. I can totally see the Bucs overlooking the winless Giants and looking ahead to a big game next Thursday night against the Pats, so give me Eli Manning and the Giants to get their first win of 2017.
Prediction: NY Giants 24, Tampa Bay 20.

Oakland Raiders (2-1) vs Denver Broncos (2-1)- 4:25, CBS: The Raiders are coming off a bad Sunday night road loss in Landover against the Redskins. The Broncos are coming off a road loss in Orchard Park against the Bills, which was a complete letdown after the big win over Dallas. That said, I like the Broncos to bounce back here at home in what is the weeks best game.
Prediction: Denver 23, Oakland 20.

Indianapolis Colts (1-2) vs Seattle Seahawks (1-2)- 8:30, NBC: This game would have been more enticing if Andrew Luck was playing. The Colts are coming off a home win over the Cleveland Browns. The Seahawks are coming off a disappointing road loss in Nashville against the Titans. The Seahawks are due for a good performance and without Luck and a bad Colts defense, that's a good bet and because of that they're my lock of the week.
Prediction: Seattle 27, Indianapolis 10.

Monday, October 2nd

Washington Redskins (2-1) vs Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)- 8:30, ESPN: The Redskins are coming off an impressive Sunday night home win over the Oakland Raiders. The Chiefs are coming off a divisional road win in Los Angeles against the Chargers. I love the Chiefs here at home against a Redskin team I don't trust in a road environment as hostile as Arrowhead.
Prediction: Kansas City 33, Washington 20.

Pick: Texas

Friday, September 29th
(14) Miami (2-0; 0-0) at Duke (4-0; 1-0)- 7:00, ESPN: I cannot wait for this game. The Blue Devils are one of the big surprises in the ACC and in College Football so far and they have had the Canes number the last few years. You know what, give me the upset.

Pick: Washington State

Saturday, September 30th

Pick: Penn State

(7) Georgia (4-0; 1-0) at Tennessee (3-1; 0-1)- 3:30, CBS: This should be a fun game, I like the Bulldogs and that defense to hold off the Vols, who will do everything they can to win this one to save Butch Jones's job.

Pick: Louisville

Florida State (0-2; 0-1) at Wake Forest (4-0; 1-0)- 3:30, ABC: The Seminoles finally get their first win here against a Demon Deacons team that is one of the surprising unbeatens remaining in the sport.

Pick: Michigan State

Miami-Ohio (2-2; 0-1) at (22) Notre Dame (3-1)- 5:00, NBCSN
Pick: Notre Dame

Pick: Bowling Green

Pick: UCF

(11) Ohio State (3-1; 1-0) at Rutgers (1-3; 0-1)- 7:30, BTN
Pick: Ohio State

South Carolina (3-1; 1-1) at Texas A&M (3-1; 1-1)- 7:30, SECN: This is a fascinating game from multiple standpoints. Kevin Sumlin needs this game to save his job and I believe the Aggies survive a close one here against a Gamecock team that will give teams fits.
Pick: Texas A&M

(2) Clemson (4-0; 2-0) at (12) Virginia Tech (4-0; 0-0)- 8:00, ABC: This is the weekends best game. ESPN's College GameDay will be on hand for it as well. I believe the Hokies have a real shot here, but that Tigers defense has this big game experience and that plus some big plays from Kelly Bryant will propel them to another big road win.
Pick: Clemson

(6) Washington (4-0; 1-0) at Oregon State (1-3; 0-1)- 8:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Washington

(15) Oklahoma State (3-1; 0-1) at Texas Tech (3-0; 0-0)- 8:00, FOX: Get ready for another old fashioned Big-12 high scoring game here. Give me the Cowboys in a close one.
Pick: Oklahoma State

Ole Miss (2-1; 0-0) at (1) Alabama (4-0; 1-0)- 9:00, ESPN: The Rebels have a good offense, but they haven't seen a defense as good as Bama's. Roll Tide.
Pick: Alabama

Nevada (0-4; 0-0) at Fresno State (1-2; 0-0)- 10:00
Pick: Fresno State

Northern Illinois (2-1; 0-0) at (19) San Diego State (4-0; 1-0)- 10:30, CBSSN

Pick: UNLV

Colorado (3-1; 0-1) at UCLA (2-2; 0-1)- 10:30, ESPN2: This will be another entertaining #Pac12AfterDark game. Give me Josh Rosen and the Bruins to get off their losing skid.
Pick: UCLA

California (3-1; 0-1) at Oregon (3-1; 0-1)- 10:30, FS1: Talk about a classic high scoring #Pac12AfterDark game, here we are. Give me the Ducks at home.
Pick: Oregon

Colorado State (2-2; 0-0) at Hawaii (2-2; 0-1)- 11:59
Pick: Hawaii

2017 NFL Week 3 Picks

Here are my picks for week 3 of the 2017 NFL season.

Thursday, September 21st
Los Angeles Rams (1-1) vs San Francisco 49ers (0-2)- 8:25, NFLN: Here's another bad game for Thursday Night football (on paper). The Rams are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Washington Redskins. The 49ers are coming off a divisional road loss in Seattle against the Seahawks in which they were competitive. This has the makings of a Niners win because they seem to win these primetime games every once in a while these last few seasons. Give me a defensive battle and a Niners win.
Prediction: San Francisco 16, LA Rams 13.

Sunday, September 24th
Baltimore Ravens (2-0) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) (London)- 9:30AM, Yahoo: The Ravens are coming off a dominant divisional home win over the Cleveland Browns. The Jags are coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the Tennessee Titans. Expect a low scoring game here and for the Ravens to pull it out in London.
Prediction: Baltimore 20, Jacksonville 10.

Miami Dolphins (1-0) vs New York Jets (0-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Dolphins are coming off a nice road win in Los Angeles against the Chargers. The Jets are coming off a road loss in Oakland against the Raiders. I actually think the putrid Jets can hang around in this game, but the Dolphins will pull it out on the road.
Prediction: Miami 27, NY Jets 19.

Houston Texans (1-1) vs New England Patriots (1-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Texans are coming off a Thursday night road win in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The Patriots are coming off a road win in New Orleans against the Saints. I believe the Texans defense can keep them in this game for a bit, but I don't see them outscoring Tom Brady and that Pats offense.
Prediction: New England 27, Houston 16.

Denver Broncos (2-0) vs Buffalo Bills (1-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Broncos are coming off a big time home win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Bills are coming off a close road loss in Charlotte against the Panthers. This game screams absolute let down for Trevor Siemian and the Broncos so give me the Bills to pull off the upset led by the defense and Tyrod Taylor.
Prediction: Buffalo 20, Denver 16.

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) vs Chicago Bears (0-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Steelers are coming off a home win over the Sam Bradford-less Minnesota Vikings. The Bears are coming off a road loss in Tampa against the Buccaneers. The Steelers haven't wow'd anybody yet with their offensive potential and I think this could be the week as long as they don't look past the Bears, who almost upset the Falcons in week 1.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 30, Chicago 16.

Cleveland Browns (0-2) vs Indianapolis Colts (0-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Browns are coming off a divisional road loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. The Colts are coming off an overtime home loss against the Arizona Cardinals in a game that they should have won. The Browns are shockingly a road favorite and that's solely because Andrew Luck isn't playing yet again. That said, I like the Colts here at home.
Prediction: Indianapolis 20, Cleveland 13.

New York Giants (0-2) vs Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Giants are coming off yet another abysmal game and this time they did have Odell Beckham Jr (obviously not at 100%) in a Monday night home loss against the Detroit Lions. The Eagles are coming off a tough road loss in Kansas City against the Chiefs. The Giants offensive line is perhaps the worst in the league and the Eagles pass rush will dominate here. Give me the Eagles at home in a close one.
Prediction: Philadelphia 24, NY Giants 17.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) vs Minnesota Vikings (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Bucs are coming off a home win over the Chicago Bears. The Vikings are coming off a road loss in Pittsburgh against the Steelers and they didn't have Sam Bradford. If Bradford doesn't play, this pick will change, but for now give me the Vikings  and that defense at home. Bradford will not play, give me the Bucs.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 20, Minnesota 16.

Atlanta Falcons (2-0) vs Detroit Lions (2-0)- 1:00, FOX: Here we have a battle of unbeatens. The Falcons are coming off a good home win against the Green Bay Packers in their home opener. The Lions are coming off a nice road win in East Rutherford against the Giants. I'm not sure if the Lions are this good and if they win here, that's a statement. But for now, give me the reigning NFC Champs to remain unbeaten and get a road win here.
Prediction: Atlanta 30, Detroit 20.

New Orleans Saints (0-2) vs Carolina Panthers (2-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Saints are coming off a disappointing home loss against the New England Patriots. The Panthers coming off a home win over the Buffalo Bills. The Panthers to me are the softest unbeaten in the league considering who they've played and they really haven't played to their potential, but they'll remain unbeaten another week because the Saints defense is just atrocious and this is the perfect opportunity for the Panther offense to get going.
Prediction: Carolina 24, New Orleans 20.

Seattle Seahawks (1-1) vs Tennessee Titans (1-1)- 4:05, FOX: The Seahawks are coming off a divisional home win over the San Francisco 49ers in which they didn't look good at all offensively. The Titans are coming off a nice bounce back win on the road in Jacksonville against their division rival in the Jaguars. I love the Titans in this spot and they'll prove their for real here against a Seahawks team that has issues on their offensive line.
Predicition: Tennessee 23, Seattle 16.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) vs Los Angeles Chargers (0-2)- 4:25, CBS: The Chiefs are coming off a home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chargers are coming off a heartbreaking home loss over the Miami Dolphins in which Younghoe Koo missed yet another crucial field goal. Picking the Chargers here to bounce back is enticing, but I like the Chiefs to win another big game thanks to their dynamic offense and really good defense sans no Eric Berry.
Prediction: Kansas City 27, LA Chargers 20.

Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) vs Green Bay Packers (1-1)- 4:25, CBS: The Bengals are coming off yet another dismal home loss, but this time in primetime against the Houston Texans on a Thursdays night. The Packers coming off a tough Sunday night road loss in Atlanta against the Falcons. This game screams huge bounce back for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and because of that, the Packers are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Green Bay 34, Cincinnati 16.

Oakland Raiders (2-0) vs Washington Redskins (1-1)- 8:30, NBC: The Raiders are coming off a home win over the putrid New York Jets. The Redskins are coming off a nice road win in Los Angeles against the Rams. The Raiders are just flat out the better team here, but I believe the Redskins can score with the Raiders so expect a closer Raider win.
Prediction: Oakland 30, Washington 24.

Monday,  September 25th
Dallas Cowboys (1-1) vs Arizona Cardinals (1-1)- 8:30, ESPN: The Cowboys are coming off an awful road loss in Denver against the Broncos. The Cards are coming off an overtime road win in Indianapolis against the Colts in a game which they came from behind in. I like the Cowboys to bounce back here and win on the road in primetime.
Prediction: Dallas 27, Arizona 23.

2017 College Football Week 4: Picks

Here are my picks for week 4 of the 2017 College Football season.

Thursday, September 21st
Temple (2-1; 0-0) at (21) South Florida (3-0; 0-0)- 7:30, ESPN: The Bulls better be ready because the Owls aren't a bad team and they're better than the Illini, who the Bulls defeated last week. Expect a close one here and the Bulls to pull out another win.
Pick: South Florida

Friday, September 22nd
Virginia (2-1; 0-0) at Boise State (2-1; 1-0)- 8:00, ESPN2
Pick: Boise State

(23) Utah (2-0; 0-0) at Arizona (2-1; 0-0)- 10:30, FS1: Some think there is upset potential here, but I'm going to say the Utes pull out a close one against a Wildcat team that has looked improved so far.
Pick: Utah

Saturday, September 23rd
UNLV (1-1; 0-0) at (10) Ohio State (2-1; 1-0)- 12:00, BTN
Pick: Ohio State

North Carolina State (2-1; 0-0) at (12) Florida State (0-1; 0-0)- 12:00, ABC/ESPN2: The Seminoles are coming off a long lay off thanks to Hurricane Irma and we really haven't seen them without De'Andre Francois yet. The Wolf Pack will keep it closer than the experts think, but the 'Noles will find a way sans no Francois.
Pick: Florida State

Kent State (1-2; 0-0) at (19) Louisville (2-1; 0-1)- 12:00, ACCN
Pick: Louisville

Texas Tech (2-0; 0-0) at Houston (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ABC/ESPN2
Pick: Houston

Army (2-1) at Tulane (1-2; 0-1)- 12:00, CBSSN
Pick: Tulane

Arkansas vs Texas A&M (Arlington); 12:00, ESPN: This game was easily the hardest one to pick for the week. Both of these teams have a lot to prove here to kick off conference play. With sort of a home field advantage, give me the Aggies in a close one.
Pick: Texas A&M

Massachusetts (0-4) at Tennessee (2-1; 0-1)- 12:00, SECN
Pick: Tennessee

West Virginia (2-1; 0-0) at Kansas (1-2; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: West Virginia

Pittsburgh (1-2; 0-0) at Georgia Tech (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, ACCN
Pick: Georgia Tech

New Mexico (1-2; 0-1) at Tulsa (1-2; 0-0)- 1:30, ESPN3
Pick: Tulsa

Old Dominion (2-1; 0-0) at (13) Virginia Tech (3-0; 0-0)- 2:00, ACCN
Pick: Virginia Tech

Idaho (1-2; 0-0) at South Alabama (1-2; 0-0)- 2:00, ESPN3
Pick: South Alabama

Ohio (2-1; 0-0) at Eastern Michigan (2-0; 0-0)- 2:00, ESPN3
Pick: Ohio

UCF (1-0; 0-0) at Maryland (2-0; 0-0)- 3:00, FS1: Going on a limb and say that the Knights pull off a mild upset here on the road.
Pick: UCF

(1) Alabama (3-0; 0-0) at Vanderbilt (3-0; 0-0)- 3:30, CBS: Here is one of my favorite games of the week. The Commodores are coming off an upset win over the Kansas State Wildcats and they want to prove they can hang with the nations top team in the Tide. I'm going to say the Tide roll here simply because they'll be motivated due to the attention teams like Clemson and Oklahoma are getting and the fact that other teams in their conference are getting some buzz (notably Mississippi State) after hot starts.
Pick: Alabama

Boston College (1-2; 0-1) at (2) Clemson (3-0; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN2
Pick: Clemson

(5) USC (3-0; 1-0) at California (3-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ABC: The Trojans are lucky this is not a night game or else an upset would be more likely. A little letdown after the epic double overtime win over the Texas Longhorns is not out of the question, but I'm gonna say the Trojans overcome a letdown and win a game closer than the experts think.
Pick: USC

(16) TCU (3-0; 0-0) at (6) Oklahoma State (3-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN: This is a huge game in the Big-12 to start conference play. Mason Rudolph is a Heisman candidate and I believe he'll lead the Cowboys to a win here although the Horned Frogs will be competitive.
Pick: Oklahoma State

Toledo (3-0; 0-0) at (14) Miami (1-0; 0-0) 3:30, ACCN
Pick: Miami

Rutgers (1-2; 0-0) at Nebraska (1-2; 0-0)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Nebraska

Georgia Southern (0-2; 0-0) at Indiana (1-1; 0-1)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Indiana

Wake Forest (3-0; 1-0)- at Appalachian State (2-1; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN3: Taking a roll of the dice here with an upset.
Pick: Appalachian State

Duke (3-0; 0-0) at North Carolina (1-2; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPNU
Pick: Duke

Louisiana Tech (2-1; 1-0) at South Carolina (2-1; 1-1)- 3:30, SECN: This is a sneaky good game. I like the Gamecocks to rebound at home here and for the Bulldogs to have a letdown after a big win in Bowling Green.
Pick: South Carolina

Miami-Ohio (1-2; 0-0) at Central Michigan (2-1; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Miami-Ohio

Cincinnati (2-1; 0-0) at Navy (2-0; 1-0)- 3:30, CBSSN: The Midshipmen will win, but this will be closer than the experts think due to the Bearcats defense.
Pick: Navy

(8) Michigan (3-0; 0-0) at Purdue (2-1; 0-0)- 4:00, FOX: The Boiler Makers want to prove their for real here, but Jim Harbaugh will have his team ready and they'll win a game that's close for at least a half, maybe a little longer than that.
Pick: Michigan

Louisiana-Monroe (0-2; 0-0) at Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2; 0-0)- 5:00, ESPN3
Pick: Louisiana-Monroe

Nevada (0-3; 0-0) at (18) Washington State (3-0; 1-0)- 6:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Washington State

Akron (1-2; 0-0) at Troy (2-1; 1-0)- 6:00, ESPN3
Pick: Troy

Georgia State (0-2; 0-0) at Charlotte (0-3; 0-0)- 6:00
Pick: Charlotte

(3) Oklahoma (3-0; 0-0) at Baylor (0-3; 0-0)- 6:00, FS1
Pick: Oklahoma

Western Illinois (2-0; 0-0) at Coastal Carolina (1-1; 0-0)- 6:30, ESPN3
Pick: Coastal Carolina

UAB (2-1; 0-0) at North Texas (1-2; 0-0)- 6:30
Pick: North Texas

(17) Mississippi State (3-0; 1-0) at (11) Georgia (3-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN: This game is very intriguing from a standpoint that the winner of this game will likely prove to be the second best team in the SEC. Nick Fitzgerald has played very well and so has Jake Fromm for their respective Bulldog teams, but give me the road team with the upset in a hard fought game.
Pick: Mississippi State

(22) San Diego State (3-0; 0-0) at Air Force (1-1; 0-0)- 7:00, CBSSN: This game screams letdown for the Aztecs after the big win over Stanford. Give me the Falcons at home.
Pick: Air Force

Syracuse (2-1; 0-0) at (25) LSU (2-1; 0-1) 7:00, ESPN2
Pick: LSU

Ball State (2-1; 0-0) at WKU (1-2; 0-1)- 7:00
Pick: WKU

FAU (1-2; 0-0) at Buffalo (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: FAU

Bowling Green (0-3; 0-0) at Middle Tennessee (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Middle Tennessee

Arkansas State (1-1; 0-0) at SMU (2-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: SMU

Wagner (1-2; 0-1) at Western Michigan (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Western Michigan

(4) Penn State (3-0; 0-0) at Iowa (3-0; 0-0)- 7:30, ABC: The Hawkeyes were in the same type of spot last season as a home underdog on a Saturday Primetime game on ABC and happened to pull off an upset over Michigan. This years Nittany Lions team is much better than last years Wolverines, so I like the Lions in a close one on the road.
Pick: Penn State

(15) Auburn (2-1; 0-0) at Missouri (1-2; 0-1) 7:30, ESPNU
Pick: Auburn

(20) Florida (1-1; 1-0) at Kentucky (3-0; 1-0)- 7:30, SECN: This should be a real good one here. I like the Wildcats to pull off the home upset against a Gator team that has offensive issues.
Pick: Kentucky

FIU (1-1; 0-0) at Rice (1-1; 1-0)- 7:30
Pick: FIU

Utah State (1-2; 0-0) at San Jose State (1-3; 0-0)- 7:30
Pick: San Jose State

UTSA (2-0; 0-0) at Texas State (1-2; 0-1)- 7:30, ESPN3
Pick: UTSA

UTEP (0-3; 0-1) at New Mexico State (1-2; 0-1) 8:00, ESPN3
Pick: New Mexico State

Southern Illinois (2-0; 0-0) at Memphis (2-0; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN3
Pick: Memphis

Notre Dame (2-1) at Michigan State (2-0; 0-0)- 8:00, FOX: This is a big game in terms of which team is poised for a real bounce back season. I like Sparty at home here in primetime.
Pick: Michigan State

(7) Washington (3-0; 0-0) at Colorado (3-0; 0-0)- 10:00, FS1: Here we have a rematch of the Pac-12 Championship game from a season ago. The Huskies haven't looked that great and I'm tempted to pick the upset here with the Buffaloes, who lost some key guys from last seasons team, who are still dangerous. Give me the upset in Boulder.
Pick: Colorado

(24) Oregon (3-0; 0-0) at Arizona State (1-2; 0-0)- 10:00, Pac-12N: The Ducks should win this game, but this game should prove whether their defense is actually improved or not because the Sun Devils can flat out score with the Ducks.
Pick: Oregon

Hawaii (2-1; 0-0) at Wyoming (1-2; 0-0)- 10:15, ESPN2
Pick: Wyoming

UCLA (2-1; 0-0) at Stanford (1-2; 0-1)- 10:30, ESPN: This weeks edition of #Pac12AfterDark features two teams that are desperate for bounce back wins after being upset on the road. I like the Cardinal here at home because I don't think the Bruins can stop Bryce Love, although Josh Rosen will keep the Bruins in this one.
Pick: Stanford

Sunday, September 24th
East Carolina (0-3; 0-0) at Connecticut (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: Connecticut

2017 NFL Week 2 Picks

Here are my picks for week two of the 2017 NFL season.

Thursday, September 14th
Houston Texans (0-1) vs Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)- 8:25, NFLN: Both of these teams laid eggs last week. The Texans are coming off an awful home loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in which DeShaun Watson came in the second half. The Bengals are coming off an awful shutout home loss against the Baltimore Ravens. I have no idea what to expect in this game considering Andy Dalton usually isn't good in primetime games and Watson is making his first career start. I'm gonna swallow hard here and pick Dalton's team to bounce back here although I say Watson plays well too.
Prediction: Cincinnati 20, Houston 16.

Sunday, September 17th
Cleveland Browns (0-1) vs Baltimore Ravens (1-0)- 1:00, CBS: Here we got a division battle. The Browns are coming off a close divisional home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens are coming off a dominant shutout divisional road win in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The Ravens defense is so good and they'll force DeShone Kizer into mistakes.
Prediction: Baltimore 27, Cleveland 13.

Buffalo Bills (1-0) vs Carolina Panthers (1-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming of a divisional home won over the New York Jets. The Panthers are coming off a road win in Santa Clara over the 49ers. The Panthers didn't look all that great last week, but I'm expecting improvement this week and for the Panthers to get another win.
Prediction: Carolina 27, Buffalo 16.

Arizona Cardinals (0-1) vs Indianapolis Colts (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Cardinals are coming off a disappointing road loss in Detroit against the Lions. The Colts are coming off an awful road loss in Los Angeles against the Rams despite not having Andrew Luck. Jacoby Brissett should start instead of Scott Tolzien and despite that, the Colts defense is just atrocious and the Cards, even without David Johnson will bounce back and win on the road.
Prediction: Arizona 30, Indianapolis 13.

Tennessee Titans (0-1) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Titans are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Oakland Raiders. The Jaguars are coming off an impressive divisional road win in Houston against the Texans. Something tells me the Jags week one performance was an aberration because the Texans got caught up in the moment and emotion a hit returning after the hurricane, so expect the Titans to bounce back here.
Prediction: Tennessee 26, Jacksonville 16.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) vs Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)- 1:00, FOX: This game is very enticing. The Eagles are coming off a divisional road win in Landover against the Redskins. The Chiefs are coming off a very impressive road win in Foxboro against the reigning champion Patriots. This game should be close and despite losing Eric Berry for the season with an ACL injury, the Chiefs will survive against Andy Reid's former team.
Prediction: Kansas City 24, Philadelphia 20.

New England Patriots (0-1) vs New Orleans Saints (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: This game is very fascinating. The Patriots are coming off a very disappointing opening night home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Saints are coming off a Monday night road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. This game will be very high scoring, but Tom Brady and the Pats bounce back here in a close one.
Prediction: New England 37, New Orleans 30.

Minnesota Vikings (1-0) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)- 1:00, FOX: This should be a fun game. The Vikings are coming off a Monday night home win over the New Orleans Saints. The Steelers are coming off a narrow road win in Cleveland against the Browns. The Vikings may have a good defense, but I don't think they can outscore the Steelers, especially at Heinz.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 24, Minnesota 16.

Chicago Bears (0-1) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Bears are coming off a tough home loss against the reigning NFC champion Atlanta Falcons. The Bucs didn't play in week one due to Hurricane Irma. My fear here is that the Bucs (like the Texans) will get caught up in the emotion of retuning home after the hurricane, but I'll say the Bucs win a closer game than the experts think.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 27, Chicago 19.

Miami Dolphins (0-0) vs Los Angeles Chargers (0-1)- 4:05, CBS: The Dolphins didn't play last weekend due to Hurricane Irma. The Chargers are coming off a tough Monday night divisional road loss in Denver against the Broncos. Although they have a short week, this screams Chargers bounce back against a team that didn't play a week ago.
Prediction: LA Chargers 33, Miami 20.

New York Jets (0-1) vs Oakland Raiders (1-0)- 4:05, CBS: The Jets are coming off a divisional road loss in Orchard Park against the Bills in which they did hang around in. The Raiders are coming off a nice road win in Nashville against the Titans. The Jets are tanking and last week pretty much proved it with Todd Bowles deciding to punt down 9 midway thru the fourth quarter and combine that with that the Raiders are awesome, the Raiders are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Oakland 34, NY Jets 13.

Washington Redskins (0-1) vs Los Angeles Rams (1-0)- 4:25, FOX: The Redskins are coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams are coming off an impressive home win over the Indianapolis Colts (yes the Colts have an atrocious defense and Andrew Luck was out). Jared Goff looked really good in the opener and I say he plays well again to lead the Rams to another home win.
Prediction: LA Rams 26, Washington 20.

San Francisco 49ers (0-1) vs Seattle Seahawks (1-0)- 4:25, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a dismal home loss against the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks are coming off a tough road loss at Lambeau against the Packers. I see the Seahawks bouncing back here in a big way at home with help from the Twelfth Man.
Prediction: Seattle 27, San Francisco 10.

Dallas Cowboys (1-0) vs Denver Broncos (1-0)- 4:25, FOX: The Cowboys are coming off a good Sunday night divisional home win over the New York Giants. The Broncos are coming off a good Monday night divisional home win over the Los Angeles Chargers. My big question is whether the Cowboys defense is as good as it was Sunday night or was it the Giants looking so bad without Odell Beckham. I think it was more about the no OBJ factor, but I think their defense does well again against a Trevor Siemian led offense and the Boys win a low scoring affair although picking the Broncos because of their great defense is tempting.
Prediction: Dallas 20, Denver 17.

Green Bay Packers (1-0) vs Atlanta Falcons (1-0)- 8:30, NBC: Here we have the NFC Championship rematch. The Packers are coming off a nice home win over the Seattle Seahawks in which their defense played well. The Falcons are coming off a close road win over the Chicago Bears in which they could have lost if Jordan Howard doesn't drop the ball late. This will be a great game, but the Falcons will rise in their new stadium and come out victorious.
Prediction: Atlanta 31, Green Bay 27.

Monday, September 18th
Detroit Lions (1-0) vs New York Giants (1-0)- 8:30, ESPN: The Lions are coming off a home win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Giants are coming off a dismal Sunday night divisional road loss in Arlington against the Cowboys despite not having Odell Beckham. I say Beckham comes back and the Giants bounce back and win their home opener in primetime.
Prediction: NY Giants 24, Detroit 16.

2017 College Football Week 3: Picks

Here are my picks for weeks 3 of the 2017 College Football season.

Thursday, September 14th
New Mexico (1-1; 0-0) at Boise State (1-1; 0-0); 8:00, ESPN: This is an intriguing game to kick off MWC play for these two squads. The Lobos have played the Broncos tough the past few seasons and did pull off an upset the last time they played on the blue turf. The Broncos had a brutal collapse last week in Pullman, but I think they're poised for a bounce back here at home.
Pick: Boise State

Friday, September 15th
Illinois (2-0; 0-0) at (22) South Florida (2-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN: The Illini are a somwhat surprising 2-0 and the Bulls are 2-0 as well, but haven't looked all that great and have not lived up to their ranking. Something tells me this will be the Bulls breakthrough win that everyone is looking for.
Pick: South Florida

Massachusetts (0-3) at Temple (1-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPNU
Pick: Temple

Arizona (1-1; 0-0) at UTEP (0-2; 0-1)- 10:15, ESPN
Pick: Arizona

Saturday, September 16th
Air Force (1-0; 0-0) at (7) Michigan (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, BTN
Pick: Michigan
