2018 NFL Week 4 Picks

Here are my picks for week four of the 2018 NFL season.

Thursday, September 27th
Minnesota Vikings (1-1-1) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-0)- 8:25, FOX/NFLN: This game should be a dandy between two of the contenders in the NFC. The Vikings are coming off an awful home loss against the lowly Buffalo Bills. The Rams are coming off a big home win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It's undetermined whether Dalvin Cook goes for the Vikings or not and the Everson Griffen situation is really troubling. What also is troubling is that Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters are both out for the Rams for a month so the Rams defense is now vulnerable. That said, I like the Rams in this one at home.
Prediction: LA Rams 30, Minnesota 20.

Sunday, September 30th
Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) at Atlanta Falcons (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Bengals are coming off a tough loss in Charlotte against the Panthers. The Falcons are coming off a tough overtime divisional home loss against the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons have injuries everywhere on defense and I like Andy Dalton and AJ Green (if he plays) to take advantage although Joe Mixon may not play this week.
Prediction: Cincinnati 30, Atlanta 26.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) at Chicago Bears (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Bucs are coming off a disappointing Monday night home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bears are coming off a narrow road win in Glendale against the Cardinals to avoid the trap. Ryan Fitzpatrick should be starting again, but I like the Bears here at home.
Prediction: Chicago 24, Tampa Bay 17.

Detroit Lions (1-2) at Dallas Cowboys (1-2)- 1:00, FOX: The Lions are coming off a big time Sunday night home win over the New England Patriots. The Cowboys are coming off a bad road loss in Seattle against the Seahawks. This game has potential to be ugly and the Cowboys usually play better at home than on the road so give me Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys at home.
Prediction: Dallas 22, Detroit 16.

Buffalo Bills (1-2) at Green Bay Packers (1-1-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming off a monstrous upset road win in Minneapolis against the Vikings. The Packers are coming off a disappointing road loss in Landover against the Redskins. Aaron Rodgers doesn't look right although he's playing thru whatever is wrong with him, but I see a big letdown here for the Bills after the big win last week.
Prediction: Green Bay 27, Buffalo 16.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) at Tennessee Titans (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Eagles are coming off a home win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans are coming off a divisional road win in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. Marcus Mariota is starting this week and this is Carson Wentz's second game back. I like the Eagles to get the road win here.
Prediction: Philadelphia 20, Tennessee 13.

Houston Texans (0-3) at Indianapolis Colts (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Texans are coming off a bad home loss against the New York Giants. The Colts are coming off a tough road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles. The Texans are very desperate and head coach Bill O'Brien is under pressure to win this game or else he could be jobless. Andrew Luck isn't right and I like the Texans to get their first win.
Prediction: Houston 20, Indianapolis 16.

Miami Dolphins (3-0) at New England Patriots (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: The Dolphins are coming off a home win over the Oakland Raiders. The Pats are coming off a disastrous road loss in Detroit against the Lions and former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. This is going to be a classic Patriots win when people doubt them after a bad loss and hand the Dolphins their first loss this year.
Prediction: New England 27, Miami 16.

New York Jets (1-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Jets are coming off a tough Thursday night road loss in Cleveland against the Browns. The Jags are coming off a bad divisional home loss against the Tennessee Titans. I like the Jags and that offense to bounce back here especially if Leonard Fournette is back.
Prediction: Jacksonville 26, NY Jets 16

Cleveland Browns (1-1-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-3)- 4:05, FOX: The Browns are coming off their first win in twenty-one months at home in primetime over the New York Jets. The Raiders are coming off a road loss in Miami against the Dolphins. Baker Mayfield was awesome last week in relief of the concussed Tyrod Taylor and I expect him to play well again, but this screams "letdown" for the Browns and I like Jon Gruden to get his first win in his second stint with the Raiders.
Prediction: Oakland 23, Cleveland 20.

Seattle Seahawks (1-2) at Arizona Cardinals (0-3)- 4:05, FOX: The Seahawks are coming off a much needed home win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Cards are coming off a heartbreaking home loss against the Chicago Bears. Josh Rosen will start now and he came in the final drive of the game and threw a pick last week and I like Rosen to lead the Cards to their first win.
Prediction: Arizona 20, Seattle 17.

New Orleans Saints (2-1) at New York Giants (1-2)- 4:25, CBS: The Saints are coming off an overtime divisional road win in Atlanta against the Falcons. The Giants are coming off a big road win in Houston against the Texans. The Saints defense has regressed so far this season and I like Odell Beckham Jr and Saquon Barkley to shred that defense and give the Giants another win.
Prediction: NY Giants 30, New Orleans 27.

San Francisco 49ers (1-2) at Los Angeles Chargers (1-2)- 4:25, CBS: The 49ers are coming off an awful loss in Kansas City against the Chiefs in which Jimmy Garappolo tore his ACL in. The Chargers are coming off a road loss in Los Angeles against the Rams. The Chargers are one of the best two 1-2 teams in the league and with CJ Bethard starting for the Niners, this is a lock.
Prediction: LA Chargers 37, San Francisco 13.

Baltimore Ravens (2-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1-1)- 8:20, NBC: The Ravens are coming off a big home win over the Denver Broncos. The Steelers are coming off a much needed Monday night road win in Tampa against the Buccaneers. These two teams always play close games and I like the Steelers here at home and despite the Le'Veon Bell situation, the offense has been good.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 24, Baltimore 20.

Monday October 1st
Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) at Denver Broncos (2-1)- 8:15, ESPN: Probably the most fascinating game on this weeks slate. The Chiefs are coming off big home win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Broncos are coming off a road loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. Patrick Mahomes has been awesome, but he's never played in an atmosphere like Denver let alone a primetime game. Upset special, Broncos win it.
Prediction: Denver 27, Kansas City 24.

Pick: Clemson

(12) West Virginia (3-0; 1-0) at (25) Texas Tech (3-1; 1-0)- 12:00, ESPN2: The Red Raiders are going to be a popular upset pick, but I like Will Grier and the Mountaineers here on the road.
Pick: West Virginia

Central Michigan (1-3; 0-1) at (21) Michigan State (2-1; 1-0)- 12:00, FS1
Pick: Michigan State

Indiana (3-1; 0-1) at Rutgers (1-3; 0-1)- 12:00, BTN: It would be so Hoosiers of them to lose here, but I'm gonna take them here to win a close one on the road.

Pick: Texas A&M

Pick: UCF

(18) Texas (3-1; 1-0) at Kansas State (2-2; 0-1)- 3:30, FS1: The Wildcats didn't look inspiring in Morgantown what so ever and didn't against Mississippi State either a few weeks back. I love the Longhorns here by double digits.
Pick: Texas

Cincinnati (4-0; 0-0) at Connecticut (1-3; 0-1)- 3:30, CBSSN
Pick: Cincinnati

Old Dominion (1-3; 0-1) at East Carolina (1-2; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN3: Complete letdown here for the Monarchs after their big upset win over Virginia Tech.
Pick: East Carolina

Coastal Carolina (3-1; 1-0) at Troy (3-1; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Troy

Pick: Wake Forest

Purdue (1-3; 0-1) at Nebraska (0-3; 0-1)- 3:30, BTN: This is a game the Huskers have to have and I think they pull it out.
Pick: Nebraska

Florida State (2-2; 0-1) at Louisville (2-2; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN2: I'm not convinced the 'Noles will look as good as they did last week and I'm not convinced the Cardinals are not as bad as they were last week. I like the Cards in an upset.
Pick: Louisville

Southern Miss (2-1; 1-0) at (10) Auburn (3-1; 1-1)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Auburn

Tennessee State (2-0; 1-0) at Vanderbilt (2-2; 0-1)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Vanderbilt

Nevada (2-2; 0-0) at Air Force (1-2; 0-1)- 4:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: Air Force

(14) Michigan (3-1; 1-0) at Northwestern (1-3; 0-1)- 4:30, FOX: The Wildcats probably won't make a bowl game if they win this game, but I have a feeling they'll keep this close against the Wolverines.
Pick: Michigan

Florida (3-1; 1-0) at (23) Mississippi State (3-1; 0-1)- 6:00, ESPN: I smell a big bounce back here for Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs against their former coach Dan Mullen as he returns to Starkville.
Pick: Mississippi State

Utah (2-1; 0-1) at Washington State (3-1; 0-1)- 6:00, Pac-12N: This should be a fun one in Pullman. The Huskies have exceeded expectations so far this season and I like them here to pull it out at home.
Pick: Washington State

Liberty (1-2) at New Mexico (2-1; 0-0)- 6:00
Pick: New Mexico

Arkansas State (3-1; 0-0) at Georgia Southern (2-1; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+
Pick: Arkansas State

Northern Illinois (1-3; 1-0) at Eastern Michigan (2-2; 0-1)- 6:00, ESPN+
Pick: Eastern Michigan

Virginia Tech (2-1; 1-0) at (22) Duke (4-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN2: Justin Jackson is out and that will hurt the Huskies here on the road as the Blue Devils remain unbeaten.
Pick: Duke

Houston Baptist (1-2; 0-2) at SMU (1-3; 1-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: SMU

UTEP (0-4; 0-0) at UTSA (1-3; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN+
Pick: UTSA

Pick: Boise State

Hawaii (4-1; 1-0) at San Jose State (0-3; 0-0)- 7:00

Pick: TCU

(4) Ohio State (4-0; 1-0) at (9) Penn State (4-0; 1-0)- 7:30, ABC: Huge game here with big time College Football Playoff implications. GameDay will be there as well and rightfully so. Nick Bosa is hurt on that defensive front and DeWayne Haskins hasn't played in an environment like State College before. This has all the makings of Trace McSorely leading the Nittany Lions to a big time win.
Pick: Penn State

(7) Stanford (4-0; 2-0) at (8) Notre Dame (4-0)- 7:30, NBC: Another huge game between two top ten teams. I think the Cardinal have a little letdown after that big win in Eugene and led by new quarterback Ian Book, the Irish get the win.
Pick: Notre Dame

(20) BYU (3-1) at (11) Washington (3-1; 2-0)- 7:30, FOX: This is a big prove it game for the Cougars here on the road at night. I like the Huskies here to win by a good margin.
Pick: Washington

South Carolina (3-1; 1-1) at (17) Kentucky (4-0; 2-0)- 7:30, SECN: I think the Cats remain unbeaten and get another big conference win.
Pick: Kentucky

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-3; 0-1) at FIU (2-2; 1-0)- 7:30, ESPN+
Pick: FIU

Louisiana Tech (2-1; 0-0) at North Texas (4-0; 0-0)- 7:30
Pick: North Texas

Marshall (2-2; 0-0) at WKU (1-3; 0-0)- 7:30
Pick: Marshall

Ole Miss (3-1; 0-1) at (5) LSU (4-0; 1-0)- 9:00, ESPN: The Rebels are a team that can flat out score, but a great defense like Bama's stopped it. I think the Tigers can hold them off here for a win too.
Pick: LSU

Oregon State (1-3; 0-1) at Arizona State (2-2; 0-1)- 10:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Arizona State

(19) Oregon (3-1; 0-1) at (24) California (3-0; 0-0)- 10:30, FS1: Huge game here in the Pac-12 North. I like Justin Wilcox to get a signature win here at home.
Pick: California

USC (2-2; 1-1) at Arizona (2-2; 1-0)- 10:30, ESPN2: It would be so easy for me to pick the Wildcats. Not so fast. I feel like they always disappoint against the better teams in the conference so I like the Trojans to get an important win.
Pick: USC

Toledo (2-1; 0-0) at Fresno State (2-1; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPNU: This is a sneaky good game between two underrated Group Of 5 schools. I like the Bulldogs here at home.

2018 NFL Week 3 Picks

Here are my picks for week three of the 2018 NFL Season.

Thursday, September 20th
New York Jets (1-1) vs Cleveland Browns (0-2)- 8:20, NFLN: The Jets are coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the Miami Dolphins. The Browns are coming off a brutal road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. The Browns are so overdue for a win and I believe this is a great opportunity to do it in front of their home crowd.
Prediction: Cleveland 20, NY Jets 13.

Sunday, September 23rd
New Orleans Saints (1-1) at Atlanta Falcons (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: Huge game with a ton at stake. The Saints are coming off a home win over the Cleveland Browns in which they should have probably lost. The Falcons are coming off a huge divisional home win against the Carolina Panthers. This is another great opportunity for the Falcons to get a jumpstart in that division (sans the Bucs being 2-0) and I like them here at home.
Prediction: Atlanta 27, New Orleans 24.

San Francisco 49ers (1-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a home win over the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs are coming off a huge road win in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. This Chiefs team is poised to do big things this season and I love them here to win their home opener against a Niner team that hasn't looked great through the first two weeks.
Prediction: Kansas City 33, San Francisco 17.

Oakland Raiders (0-2) at Miami Dolphins (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Raiders are coming off a brutal divisional road loss in Denver against the Broncos. The Dolphins are coming off a nice divisional road win in East Rutherford against the Jets. With the Raiders going to the east coast, it will be difficult for them to get a win against an improved Dolphins team.
Prediction: Miami 27, Oakland 17.

Buffalo Bills (0-2) at Minnesota Vikings (1-0-1)- 1:00, CBS: Talk about mismatches. The Bills are coming off a home loss against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Vikings are coming off a tie in Green Bay against the Packers. I mentioned the term "mismatch", how about lock? That's what this game is this week for the Vikings.
Prediction: Minnesota 33, Buffalo 13.

Indianapolis Colts (1-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Colts are coming off a nice road in Landover against the Redskins. The Eagles are coming off a disappointing road loss in Tampa Bay against the Bucs. Carson Wentz is now back from his torn ACL and the Eagles and Wentz will be motivated and will win by a good margin.
Prediction: Philadelphia 30, Indianapolis 17.

Green Bay Packers (1-0-1) at Washington Redskins (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Packers are coming off a tie at home against the Minnesota Vikings. The Redskins are coming off a bad home loss against the Indianapolis Colts. I like what I've seen from the Packers thus far despite Aaron Rodgers's knee injury worsening, Rodgers is playing well and I like the Pack to get the road win.
Prediction: Green Bay 30, Washington 20.

Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) at Carolina Panthers (1-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Bengals are coming off a big Thursday night divisional home win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Panthers are coming off a tough divisional road loss in Atlanta against the Falcons. The Bengals are much improved from a season ago and I like them here to pull off the road upset.
Prediction: Cincinnati 27, Carolina 23.

Tennessee Titans (1-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Titans are coming off a big divisional home win over the Houston Texans. The Jags are coming off a big time home win over the New England Patriots. Marcus Mariota should be back for this game, but even with him I don't think they'll get the win against this Jags team.
Prediction: Jacksonville 27, Tennessee 19.

Denver Broncos (2-0) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Broncos are coming off a divisional home win over the Oakland Raiders. The Ravens are coming off a Thursday night divisional road loss in Cincinnati against the Bengals. With the Broncos traveling to the east coast with a 1:00 start, I like the Ravens to bounce back here at home.
Prediction: Baltimore 27, Denver 20.

New York Giants (0-2) at Houston Texans (0-2)- 1:00, FOX: Too early to call a "loser leaves town" match? Maybe not. The Giants are coming off an awful Sunday night divisional road loss in Dallas against the Cowboys. The Texans are coming off a brutal divisional road loss in Nashville against the Mariota-less Titans. Something's got to give and I like DeShaun Watson and the Texans go get in the win column against a Giant team that's heading for a long season.
Prediction: Houston 26, NY Giants 16.

Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) at Los Angeles Rams (1-1)- 4:05, CBS: The Battle of LA! The Chargers are coming off a much needed road win in Orchard Park against the Bills. The Rams are coming off a divisional home win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams are the better team and the Chargers still don't have Joey Bosa so the Rams are the pick here although I believe this game will be close.
Prediction: LA Rams 30, LA Chargers 24.

Chicago Bears (1-1) at Arizona Cardinals (0-2)- 4:25, FOX: The Bears are coming off a big Monday night home win against the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals are coming off a shutout divisional road loss in Los Angeles against the Rams. This is a huge week for the Bears in terms of not looking past an inferior opponent and I think the Bears will get the road win comfortably.
Prediction: Chicago 26, Arizona 13.

Dallas Cowboys (1-1) at Seattle Seahawks (0-2)- 4:25, FOX: The Cowboys are coming off a big Sunday night divisional home win against the Giants in a game that they had to have. The Seahawks are coming off a tough Monday night road loss in Chicago against the upstart Bears. This is a must win for the Seahawks if they want to be relevant this season, but that offensive line is just awful and I can see the Cowboys doing the same gameplan defensively as they did against the Giants and their awful offensive line last week.
Prediction: Dallas 22, Seattle 16.

New England Patriots (1-1) at Detroit Lions (0-2)- 8:20, NBC: The Patriots are coming off a disappointing road loss in Jacksonville against the Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game rematch. The Lions are coming off a close road loss in San Francisco against the 49ers. Bill Belichick wants to pour it on against his former assistant Matt Patricia and I do think the Pats bounce back and get the win.
Prediction: New England 33, Detroit 20.

Monday September 24th

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)- 8:15, ESPN: This is the most enticing game of the week for a variety of reasons. The Steelers are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bucs are coming off another big win, this time against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been "Fitzmagic" and that will continue this week against the dysfunctional Steelers.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 27, Pittsburgh 20.

Here are my picks for week four of the 2018 College Football Season.

Thursday, September 20th
Tulsa (1-2; 0-0) at Temple (1-2; 0-0)- 7:30, ESPN
Pick: Temple

Friday, September 21st

Pick: Penn State

Washington State (3-0; 0-0) at USC (1-2; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPN: This is a must win game for Coach Helton and the Trojans. They'll get it behind their home faithful and a good game by JT Daniels.
Pick: USC

Saturday, September 22nd
(3) Georgia (3-0; 1-0) at Missouri (3-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPN: Interesting game here as the Tigers are trying to prove they're for real. The Bulldogs will hand the Tigers their first loss.
Pick: Georgia

(8) Notre Dame (3-0) at Wake Forest (2-1; 0-1)- 12:00, ABC: Trap game for the Irish? I say so, but they'll pull out the win late as they have their first three games.
Pick: Notre Dame

Nebraska (0-2; 0-0) at (19) Michigan (2-1; 0-0)- 12:00, FS1
Pick: Michigan

(23) Boston College (3-0; 1-0) at Purdue (0-3; 0-1)- 12:00, ESPN2: This is going to be a close win for the Eagles as the Boiler Makers have lost close games in their first three.
Pick: Boston College

Kent State (1-2; 0-0) at Ole Miss (2-1; 0-1)- 12:00, SECN
Pick: Ole Miss

Buffalo (3-0; 1-0) at Rutgers (1-2; 0-1)- 12:00, BTN: It's not an upset because the Bulls are favored here.
Pick: Buffalo

Minnesota (3-0; 0-0) at Maryland (2-1; 0-0)- 12:00, BTN: Tough call here, but I'm going with the Gophers on the road since I still have a bad taste from the Terps debacle against Temple.
Pick: Minnesota

Akron (2-0; 0-0) at Iowa State (0-2; 0-1)- 12:00, FSN: The Cyclones absolutely need this game and I think they'll get it as the Zips have a letdown after their big win last week.
Pick: Iowa State

Ohio (1-1; 0-0) at Cincinnati (3-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: Cincinnati

Nevada (2-1; 0-0) at Toledo (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, CBSSN

Pick: Colorado State

Maine (2-0; 1-0) at Central Michigan (0-1; 0-3)- 3:00, ESPN+: The Blackbirds already beat an FBS school in WKU, who was missing their quarterback. I don't see another upset here.
Pick: Central Michigan

Texas A&M (2-1; 0-0) at (1) Alabama (3-0; 1-0)- 3:30, CBS: I wouldn't be shocked if the Aggies hung around for a half or even three quarters, but the Tide pulls away late.
Pick: Alabama

(2) Clemson (3-0; 0-0) at Georgia Tech (1-2; 0-1)- 3:30, ABC: I don't see how the Yellow Jackets keep this close.
Pick: Clemson

Tulane (1-2; 0-0) at (4) Ohio State (3-0; 1-0)- 3:30, BTN: Welcome back Urban Meyer! Buckeyes win big.
Pick: Ohio State

Kansas State (2-1; 0-0) at (12) West Virginia (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN: Wouldn't be overly stunned if the Mountaineers are rusty to start considering they were off last week, but they'll win by double digits.
Pick: West Virginia

(13) Virginia Tech (2-0; 0-0) at Old Dominion (0-3; 0-2)- 3:30, CBSSN: Don't be shocked if the Huskies are rusty early as well due to having off last week, but they'll win by double digits too.

Pick: Northern Illinois

Kansas (2-1; 0-0) at Baylor (2-1; 0-0)- 3:30, FS1: The winning streak was fun while it lasted, Jayhawks.
Pick: Baylor

Arizona (1-2; 0-0) at Oregon State (1-2; 0-0)- 4:00, Pac-12N: Tough call here, but Jonathan Smith's team showed me a lot in defeat and I like them here to pick off the disappointing Wildcats.
Pick: Oregon State

Pick: Syracuse

(17) TCU (2-1; 0-0) at Texas (2-1; 0-0)- 4:30, FOX: Huge game here in the Big-12. Very, very tough call. I like what I saw from the Longhorns last week on both sides of the ball meanwhile if the Hornfrogs didn't turn the ball over a lot last week they could have won. Give me the Frogs in a close one.
Pick: TCU

McNeese (3-0; 2-0) at (25) BYU (2-1)- 6:00, ESPN3
Pick: BYU

North Texas (3-0; 0-0) at Liberty (1-1)- 6:00, ESPN3: Won't be shocked if this is close because I can see a little letdown for the Mean Green after their big win last week.

Pick: Auburn

(24) Michigan State (1-1; 0-0) at Indiana (3-0; 0-0)- 7:30, BTN: I'm sure a lot of folks like the Hosiers to pull off the upset. Not me. I think Sparty squeaks it out.
Pick: Michigan State

New Mexico State (0-4) at UTEP (0-3; 0-0)- 7:30, ESPN3: You know what? I think the Miners finally get a win.
Pick: UTEP

(7) Stanford (3-0; 1-0) at (20) Oregon (3-0; 0-0)- 8:00, ABC: This should be a fun game with GameDay on hand. Bryce Love's health is a major concern for the Cardinal and I love this Ducks offense and I don't think the Cardinal defense will stop Justin Huebert.
Pick: Oregon

East Carolina (1-1; 0-0) at South Florida (3-0; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: South Florida

Texas Southern (1-2; 0-0) at Houston (2-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN3

2018 NFL Week 2 Picks

Here are my picks for week two of the 2018 NFL Season.

Thursday, September 13th
Baltimore Ravens (1-0) vs Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)- 8:25, NFLN: The Ravens are coming off a dominant home win over the lowly Buffalo Bills. The Bengals are coming off a road win in Indy against the Colts. I like the Bengals here at home because they are the better team here and I believe the Ravens dominance was more about the ineptitude of the Bills and how bad they are.
Prediction: Cincinnati 24, Baltimore 20.

Sunday, September 16th
Carolina Panthers (1-0) vs Atlanta Falcons (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Panthers are coming off a home win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Falcons are coming off a very disappointing loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles. This was a tough call considering neither of these teams looked all that great last week, but give me Matt Ryan and the Falcons to pull it out,
Prediction: Atlanta 23, Carolina 20.

Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) vs Buffalo Bills (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Chargers are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills are coming off a dismal loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. The Bills are the worst team in football and I expect the Chargers to bounce back in a big way sans no Joey Bosa for the second straight week.
Prediction: LA Chargers 37, Buffalo 16.

Minnesota Vikings (1-0) vs Green Bay Packers (1-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Vikings are coming off a home win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Packers are coming off a brilliant comeback divisional home win against the improved Chicago Bears. If Aaron Rodgers plays (he should be), this is game of the week. I'm going to take a chance and pick Rodgers and the Pack at home in a close one.
Prediction: Green Bay 24, Minnesota 23.

Houston Texans (0-1) vs Tennessee Titans (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Texans are coming off a tough road loss in Foxboro against the Patriots. The Titans are coming off a disappointing road loss in Miami against the Dolphins. Marcus Mariota looks like he'll play this week, but I like DeShaun Watson and the Texans to bounce back here and win a divisional road game and Mariota may not be 100%.
Prediction: Houston 26, Tennessee 20.

Cleveland Browns (0-0-1) vs New Orleans Saints (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Browns are coming off a tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in a game in which they should have won. The Saints are coming off an awful home loss against the Tampa Bay Bucs in which they gave up 48 points in. This is a must win for the Saints and I believe they'll get the job done against a team that may have a letdown after a tie (!!!!).
Prediction: New Orleans 38, Cleveland 20.

Miami Dolphins (1-0) vs New York Jets (1-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Dolphins are coming off a nice home win over the Tennessee Titans. The Jets are coming off a great Monday night road in Detroit against the Lions. Sam Darnold rebounded nicely after throwing a pick six on his first NFL snap and I expect him to have another nice game to lead the Jets to a win over a team I'm not sold on in the Dolphins.
Prediction: NY Jets 24, Miami 17.

Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Chiefs are coming off a good divisional road win in Los Angeles against the Chargers. The Steelers are coming off a disappointing tie in Cleveland against the Browns. This is a fun game, but I like Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs to steal a win on the road.
Prediction: Kansas City 27, Pittsburgh 24.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Eagles are coming off a Thursday night opener home win against the Atlanta Falcons. The Bucs are coming off an impressive divisional road win in New Orleans against the Saints. Ryan Fitzpatrick looked awesome last week, but I'm skeptical about him playing well against a better defense, but Nick Foles looked awful last week and in the preseason, so give me the Bucs again.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 16, Philadelphia 13.

Indianapolis Colts (0-1) vs Washington Redskins (1-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Colts are coming off a tough home loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Redskins are coming off a nice win in Glendale against the Cards. The Skins looked really good last week, but was that more about the Cardinals being bad?  I'm going to say a little bit of both, but give me the Skins at home.
Prediction: Washington 27, Indianapolis 17.

Arizona Cardinals (0-1) vs Los Angeles Rams (1-0)- 4:05, FOX: The Cards are coming off a dismal home loss against the Redskins. The Rams are coming off a Monday night road win in Oakland against the Raiders. The Cards could be the worst team in the NFC this season and the Rams are probably the best team in football and that's why the Rams are my lock of the week.
Prediction: LA Rams 37, Arizona 13.

Detroit Lions (0-1) vs San Francisco 49ers (0-1)- 4:05, FOX: The Lions are coming off a disastrous Monday nigh home loss against the New York Jets in Matt Patricia's NFL head coaching debut. The Niners are coming off a road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. The Niners didn't look great last week, but I expect them to bounce back here at home against a bad Lions team.
Prediction: San Francisco 27, Detroit 20.

Oakland Raiders (0-1) vs Denver Broncos (1-0)- 4:25, CBS: The Raiders are coming off a disappointing Monday night home loss against the Rams. The Broncos are coming off a home win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos are home and have a great pass rush and I expect them to win a close one over their division rivals.
Prediction: Denver 26, Oakland 20.

New England Patriots (1-0) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0)- 4:25, CBS: Here we have a rematch of last years AFC Championship game. The Patriots are coming off a good home win over the Houston Texans. The Jaguars are coming off a road win in East Rutherford against the Giants. I like the Jags and the idea of them getting revenge here at home.
Prediction: Jacksonville 26, New England 23.

New York Giants (0-1) vs Dallas Cowboys (0-1)- 8:20, NBC: The Giants are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game they probably should have won. The Cowboys are coming off a loss in Charlotte against the Panthers in which their offense was putrid. This was a hard call, but give me the Giants to get the win on the road led by Odell Beckham Jr and Saquon Barkley.
Prediction: NY Giants 22, Dallas 17.

Monday, September 17th
Seattle Seahawks (0-1) vs Chicago Bears (0-1)- 8:15, ESPN: The Seahawks are coming off a loss in Denver against the Broncos in which they could have won it. The Bears are coming off a heartbreaking Sunday night divisional road loss in Green Bay against the Packers. I love the Bears in this spot and their pass rush led by Khalil Mack to get to Russell Wilson and to get the win.
Prediction: Chicago 27, Seattle 17.

Pick: Boston College

Tennessee Tech (0-2; 0-0) at Utah State (1-1; 0-0)- 8:00
Pick: Utah State

Friday, September 14th
Georgia State (1-1; 0-0) at Memphis (1-1; 0-1)- 7:30, ESPN
Pick: Memphis

Saturday, September 15th
Georgia Southern (2-0; 0-0) at (2) Clemson (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU

Pick: Penn State

(21) Miami (2-0; 0-0) at Toledo (1-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPN2: Huge statement game for the Rockets to prove their one of the better Group Of 5 teams. I say they fall short.

Pick: Rhode Island

Troy (1-1; 0-0) at Nebraska (0-1; 0-0)- 12:00, BTN: The Trojans keep this close, but give me the Huskers to get their first win under Scott Frost.
Pick: Nebraska

Hawaii (3-0; 1-0) at Army (1-1)- 12:00, CBSSN: This game looks a lot better on paper than it did before the season. Give me the Knights to hand the Rainbow Warriors their first loss.
Pick: Army

Florida State (1-1; 0-1) at Syracuse (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPN: Most folks probably thought that this would be an easy win for the Seminoles before the season. Not so fast. The Seminoles aren't as good as we thought and I like the Orange to pull off the upset.
Pick: Syracuse

Rutgers (1-1; 0-1) at Kansas (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, FSN: Here we have two of the worst Power 5 teams going at it. The Jayhawks snapped their long road losing streak against FBS opponents and will now they snap their losing streak against Power 5 opponents? I say no.
Pick: Rutgers

Ball State (1-1; 0-0) at Indiana (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, BTN
Pick: Indiana

Vanderbilt (2-0; 0-0) at (8) Notre Dame (2-0)- 2:30, NBC: Don't be shocked if the Commodores hang around here.
Pick: Notre Dame

Ohio (1-0; 0-0) at Virginia (1-1; 0-0)- 3:00, ACCN
Pick: Virginia

BYU (1-1) at (6) Wisconsin (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ABC
Pick: Wisconsin

(12) LSU (2-0; 0-0) at (7) Auburn (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, CBS: This is such a great game! Expect a close one between these two conference rivals and for Jarred Stidham and the Auburn Tigers to come out on top in a close one.
Pick: Auburn

(17) Boise State (2-0; 0-0) at (24) Oklahoma State (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN: If the Broncos want to be in the playoff conversation come the end of the season, they have to win this game. I think the Broncos make noise and pull it off in Stillwater.

Pick: South Florida

Duke (2-0; 0-0) at Baylor (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, FS1: Big game for both schools. I like the Blue Devils, who are surprising underdogs in this game, to win this game going away.
Pick: Duke

UTSA (0-2; 0-0) at Kansas State (1-1; 0-0)- 4:00: Wouldn't be shocked if the Road Runners kept this close.
Pick: Kansas State

Colorado State (1-2; 0-1) at Florida (1-1; 0-0)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Florida

Pick: Houston

Ohio (1-0; 0-0) at Virginia (1-1; 0-0)- 4:30, ESPN2: This game is being played at Vanderbilt Stadium due to Hurricane Florence. Even if they were playing in Charlottesville, I would have picked the upset. The move makes me feel even better about it.

Pick: FAU

Pick: Buffalo

Pick: Texas A&M

Missouri (2-0; 0-0) at Purdue (0-2; 0-1)- 7:30, BTN: This is a very hard call, but I think the Boiler Makers get on the win column here with a win over a Tiger team that is a soft 2-0.
Pick: Missouri

Northern Iowa (0-1; 0-0) at Iowa (2-0; 0-0)- 7:30, BTN
Pick: Iowa

WKU (0-2; 0-0) at Louisville (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, ACCN

Pick: FIU

Pick: Northwestern

(4) Ohio State (2-0; 1-0) vs (15) TCU (2-0; 0-0) (Arlington)- 8:00, ABC: Biggest game of this weekends slate for sure. GameDay is in town and I expect the game to be competitive and entertaining. Give me the Buckeyes here as this is their last game without Urban Meyer.
Pick: Ohio State

(22) USC (1-1; 0-1) at Texas (1-1; 0-0)- 8:00, FOX: Huge swing game for both of these schools. I don't feel good about this pick at all since it was the hardest one to pick. Give me the Longhorns at home and no, Texas is not back if they win this game.

Pick: UNLV

(23) Arizona State (2-0; 0-0) at San Diego State (1-1; 0-0)- 10:30, CBSSN: This game is going to be fun. I think the Herm-train has a letdown after their big win against Sparty against a good Aztecs team.
Pick: San Diego State

Fresno State (1-1; 0-0) at UCLA (0-2; 0-0)- 10:30, FS1: The Bruins will remain winless as the Bulldogs will get a road win against a Power 5 opponent.
