2019 MLB Playoffs: Wild Card Round Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Wild Card round of the 2019 MLB Playoffs.

National League
(WC2) Milwaukee Brewers vs (WC1) Washington Nationals- 8:00, TBS: The Brewers should be proud that they're back in the postseason after closing the regular season strong sans losing Christian Yelich for the season due to a broken kneecap. The Nationals are here after a very strong final three months of the season after getting off to a horrendous start. The Brewers offense without Yelich is not bad with the likes of Ryan Braun (who may not play due to calf strain), Keston Hiura, Lorenzo Cain, and Mike Moustakas. The Nats offense is awesome led by MVP candidate Anthony Rendon, Juan Soto, Victor Robles, and Trey Turner. The Brewers are sending Brandon Woodruff on the mound to start this game and it wouldn't surprise me if it winds up in an opener role and they would use their bullpen with the likes of Josh Hader, Brent Suter, Drew Pomeranz, and Junior Guerra. Max Scherzer is getting the ball for the Nationals although he has not been as dominant as usual of late and Patrick Corbin and Stephen Strasburg could be available out of the bullpen if needed. The Nats pen is not dominant what so ever with the likes of closer Sean Doolittle, Fernando Rodney, Daniel Hudson, and Hunter Strickland. That said, Scherzer is the best pitcher that will be pitching in this game and the Nats have the better lineup and I believe they'll get the job done.

Prediction: Nationals 6, Brewers 2.

American League
(WC2) Tampa Bay Rays vs (WC1) Oakland Athletics- 8:00, ESPN: This game was the harder one to pick of the two. The Rays have had an excellent season earning the second Wild Card spot after missing out last season although they did win 90 games last year. The Athletics are in this game for a second straight season and this time around they host the game. The Rays are not a very good offensive team as a whole, but their position players are solid and are capable of having some good at-bats such as Austin Meadows, Tommy Pham, Brandon Lowe, and Avasail Garcia. The A's have the superior lineup led by Matt Chapman, Marcus Semien, Matt Olson, and Khris Davis. The Rays have the superior end of the pitching spectrum with Charlie Morton going for them. They also could have starter Tyler Glasnow available out of the bullpen, but their rest of their bullpen is pretty solid led by Emilio Pagan, closer Diego Castillo, and Colin Poche. The Athletics look like they're sending Sean Manaea to the mound, who is a little over a year removed from Tommy John Surgery and came back in September and pitched well. There is talk that Mike Fiers could start this game, but it should be Manaea. In their bullpen, they have some arms such as closer Liam Hendriks, Jake Diekman, starter Homer Bailey, and youngster Jesus Luzardo. In what should be a close, low scoring game, I like the Athletics to get it done at home with the crowd behind them.
Prediction: Athletics 4, Rays 2.

2019 WNBA Finals Prediction

Here is my prediction for the 2019 WNBA Finals.

(2) Connecticut Sun vs (1) Washington Mystics: Once for a change, we actually have two Eastern Conference teams in the WNBA Finals. The Sun have had an awesome season led by Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones and are coming off a sweep of the Los Angeles Sparks in the Semifinals. The Mystics have the leagues best player in league MVP Elena Delle Donne with a solid supporting cast including Kristi Tolliver, Natasha Cloud, Emma Meesseman, and Ariel Atkins and are coming off a four-game series win over the Las Vegas Aces. This should be a fun and competitive series but give me the team thats been the best all year and thats the Mystics, who will win their first championship in franchise history.

Prediction: Mystics in four games.

WNBA Finals MVP: Elena Delle Donne

2019 College Football Week 5: Picks

Here are my picks for week five of the 2019 College Football season.

Thursday, September 26th
Navy (2-0; 1-0) at Memphis (3-0; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN: This is an interesting game between two unbeatens in the AAC. The Tigers are the more superior team here and I like them to put a crooked number here at home.
Prediction: Memphis

Friday, September 27th
Duke (2-1; 0-0) at Virginia Tech (2-1; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN: This is a game in which could go a long way in terms of how these two teams seasons will go. I like the Hokies at home.
Prediction: Virginia Tech

(12) Penn State (3-0; 0-0) at Maryland (2-1; 0-0)- 8:00, FS1: This game has all the makings of another Terps upset and I love it.
Prediction: Maryland

San Jose State (2-1; 0-0) at Air Force (2-1; 0-1)- 8:00, CBSSN: The Spartans will certain will have a letdown here after the big win over Arkansas.
Prediction: Air Force

Arizona State (3-1; 0-1) at (15) California (4-0; 1-0)- 10:30, ESPN: The Dirty Bears are off to a nice start this season, but I think they can be had here by a Sun Devils team that's in a nice bounce back spot.
Prediction: Arizona State

Saturday, September 28th
Texas Tech (2-1; 0-0) at (6) Oklahoma (3-0; 0-0)- 12:00, FOX
Prediction: Oklahoma

Northwestern (1-2; 0-1) at (8) Wisconsin (3-0; 1-0)- 12:00, ABC
Prediction: Wisconsin

Middle Tennessee (1-2; 0-0) at (14) Iowa (3-0; 1-0)- 12:00, ESPN2
Prediction: Iowa

Rutgers (1-2; 0-1) at (20) Michigan (2-1; 0-1)- 12:00, BTN
Prediction: Michigan

(23) Texas A&M (2-2; 0-1) vs Arkansas (2-2; 0-1)- 12:00, ESPN: This game is played in Arlington every year. The Razorbacks are normally competitive in this spot, but the Aggies are the much better team here led by Kellen Mond.
Prediction: Texas A&M

Holy Cross (1-2; 0-0) at Syracuse (2-2; 0-1)- 12:00, ACCN
Prediction: Syracuse

Northern Illinois (1-2; 0-0) at Vanderbilt (0-3; 0-2)- 12:00, SECN: Upset special here with the Huskies beating the Commodores.
Prediction: Northern Illinois

Kansas (2-2; 0-1) at TCU (2-1; 0-0)- 12:00, FS1: This feels like a prime bounce back spot here for the Horned Frogs after a bad loss to SMU last week.
Prediction: TCU

BYU (2-2) at Toledo (2-1; 0-0) 12:00, ESPN+
Prediction: Toledo

Buffalo (2-2; 0-0) at Miami-OH (1-3; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU
Prediction: Miami-Ohio

Central Michigan (2-2; 1-0) at Western Michigan (2-2; 0-0)- 12:00, CBSSN
Prediction: Western Michigan

Delaware (3-1; 1-0) at Pittsburgh (2-2; 0-1)- 12:30, ACCN
Prediction: Pittsburgh

(1) Clemson (4-0; 2-0) at North Carolina (2-2; 1-0)- 3:30, ABC: The Tar Heels clearly aren't the team we saw the first two weeks of the season, but freshman quarterback Sam Howell has shown some promise. This is a game where the final score looks close, but it reality the game wasn't.
Prediction: Clemson

Ole Miss (2-2; 1-0) at (2) Alabama (4-0; 1-0)- 3:30, CBS: This screams blowout as the Tide will roll to a 40+ point victory.
Prediction: Alabama

(18) Virginia (4-0; 2-0) at (10) Notre Dame (2-1)- 3:30, NBC: This could be a trap game of some sort  for the Irish, as many people think the Cavs can win on the field. I'm not sure about that, but I do think it's a competitive game.
Prediction: Notre Dame

(21) USC (3-1; 2-0) at (17) Washington (3-1; 0-1)- 3:30, FOX: This game has shootout and blowout potential, but the Huskies are the more well rounded team here.
Prediction: Washington

Indiana (3-1; 0-1) at (15) Michigan State (3-1; 1-0)- 3:30, FS1: I can totally see Sparty looking ahead here with Ohio State on deck, but they'll get the win in a close call.
Prediction: Michigan State

FAU (2-2; 0-0) at Charlotte (2-2; 0-0)- 3:30, NFL
Prediction: FAU

Georgia Tech (1-2; 0-1) at Temple (2-1; 0-0)- 3:30, CBSSN: Geoff Collins is in for a rude awakening in his return to Philadelphia.
Prediction: Temple

Wake Forest (4-0; 0-0) at Boston College (3-1; 1-0)- 3:30, ACCN: Huge game here in the ACC. Folks are down on the Eagles do to the horrific loss to Kansas, but I think this is a trap game for the Demon Decons and AJ Dillon and Anthony Brown lead the Eagles to a big win.
Prediction: Boston College

Iowa State (2-1; 0-0) at Baylor (3-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN: This is a nice game to start Big-12 play for these teams. The Bears are a little unknown because they haven't played any good teams, but I think they'll get some recognition here with a big win here at home.
Prediction: Baylor

Minnesota (3-0; 0-0) at Purdue (1-2; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN2: The Golden Gophers are the most unimpressive unbeaten left perhaps in the country, so give the Boiler Makers to get a big conference win here.
Prediction: Purdue

Coastal Carolina (3-1; 0-0) at Appalachian State (3-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN+
Prediction: Appalachian State

Akron (0-4; 0-1) at Massachusetts (0-4)- 3:30: Here's the toilet bowl of the season so far. The Zips get it on the road.
Prediction: Akron

Towson (3-1; 0-1) at (9) Florida (4-0; 2-0)- 4:00, SECN
Prediction: Florida

SMU (4-0; 0-0) at South Florida (1-2; 0-0)- 4:00, ESPNU: This screams trap game for the Mustangs after their big win over TCU. Bulls get a much needed win.
Prediction: South Florida

Cincinnati (2-1; 0-0) at Marshall (2-1; 0-0)- 5:00: Sneaky good Group of Five game here. Give me the Thundering Herd at home.
Prediction: Marshall

New Mexico (2-1; 0-0) at Liberty (2-2)- 6:00, ESPN+
Prediction: Liberty

East Carolina (2-2; 0-1) at Old Dominion (1-2; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+
Prediction: Old Dominion

Arkansas State (2-2; 0-0) at Troy (2-1; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+: I think the Red Wolves have the college football gods on their side in wake of coach Blake Anderson's wife passing away.
Prediction: Arkansas State

Louisiana (3-1; 0-0) at Georgia Southern (1-2; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+: Perfect letdown spot for the Rajun Cajins.
Prediction: Georgia Southern

Mississippi State (3-1; 1-0) at (7) Auburn (4-0; 1-0)- 7:00, ESPN: Some people feel that the Bulldogs can make some noise here, but I don't see it. The Tigers are better on both sides of the ball.
Prediction: Auburn

Connecticut (1-2; 0-0) at (22) UCF (3-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN2
Prediction: UCF

(24) Kansas State (3-0; 0-0) at Oklahoma State (3-1; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN+: The Wildcats are a nice story so far, but they get dealt their first loss here against a Cowboys team that's prime to bounce back after it's loss to Texas.
Prediction: Oklahoma State

South Alabama (1-3; 0-0) at UL Monroe (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN+
Prediction: UL Monroe

Nicholls (2-1; 1-0) at Texas State (1-3; 1-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Prediction: Nicholls

UTEP (1-2; 0-0) at Southern Miss (2-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN+
Prediction: Southern Miss

UAB (3-0; 0-0) at WKU (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN+
Prediction: UAB

Louisiana Tech (3-1; 1-0) at Rice (0-4; 0-0) 7:00, ESPN3
Prediction: Louisiana Tech

Stanford (1-3; 0-1) at Oregon State (1-2; 0-0)- 7:00, Pac-12N: This Cardinal team is clearly heading for a long season. Upset special in Corvallis.
Prediction: Oregon State

(5) Ohio State (4-0; 1-0) at Nebraska (3-1; 1-0)- 7:30, ABC: GameDay will be at this game and it would have obviously had been more enticing if the Corn Huskers were unbeaten, but that's not the case. Either way, the Buckeyes are the better team led by Justin Field and they'll remain unbeaten.
Prediction: Ohio State

NC State (3-1; 0-0) at Florida State (2-2; 0-0)- 7:30, ACCN
Prediction: Florida State

Kentucky (2-2; 0-2) at South Carolina (1-3; 0-2)- 7:30, SECN

Prediction: Utah State

UNLV (1-2; 0-0) at Wyoming (3-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPNU
Prediction: Wyoming

Fresno State (1-2; 0-0) at New Mexico State (0-4)- 8:00
Prediction: Fresno State

Houston (1-3; 0-1) at North Texas (2-2; 1-0)- 8:00
Prediction: North Texas

Washington State (3-1; 0-1) at (19) Utah (3-1; 0-1)- 10:00, FS1: This is a big game in the Pac-12. I like the Utes here to bounce back from their loss from last week.
Prediction: Utah

UCLA (1-3; 1-0) at Arizona (2-1; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPN: No letdown for Chip as he gets another big road win.
Prediction: UCLA

Hawaii (3-1; 0-0) at Nevada (3-1; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPN2
Prediction: Nevada

2019 NFL Week 4: Picks

Here are my picks for Week four of the 2019 NFL Season.

Thursday, September 26th
Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) vs Green Bay Packers (3-0)- 8:25, FOX/NFL: The Eagles are coming off a bad home loss against the Detroit Lions. The Packers are coming off a home win over the Denver Broncos. The Eagles are dealing with some injuries on offense although Alshon Jeffery is back for this game, but the Packers defense is the best unit on the field and I expect them to remain unbeaten for yet another week.
Prediction: Green Bay 26, Philadelphia 19.

2019 College Football Week 4: Picks

Here are my picks for week four of the 2019 College Football season.

Thursday, September 19th
Houston (1-2; 0-0) at Tulane (2-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN: This is a pretty big game in conference game between these two teams. The Cougars are a good offensive team led by quarterback D'Eriq King, but they don't play a lick of defense. Meanwhile, the Green Wave are an improved team and have a good offense led by quarterback Justin McMillan and I think they get a signature home win here.

Pick: Clemson

Oklahoma State (3-0; 0-0) at (12) Texas (2-1; 0-0)- 7:30, ABC: This has the makings of a Big-12 classic shootout. Longhorns win it at home.
Pick: Texas

San Jose State (1-1; 0-0) at Arkansas (2-1; 0-1)- 7:30, ACCN
Pick: Arkansas

UTSA (1-2; 0-0) at North Texas (1-2; 0-0)- 7:30

Pick: Nevada

Nebraska (2-1; 0-0) at Illinois (2-1; 0-0)- 8:00, BTN: This screams "trap" for the Cornhuskers, but I think they survive here against a bad Illini team.
Pick: Nebraska

Colorado (2-1; 0-0) at (24) Arizona State (3-0; 0-0)- 10:00, Pac-12N: This screams letdown for the Sun Devils after their big win against Michigan State. Buffaloes win outright on the road.

2019 NFL Week 3 Picks

Here are my picks for Week 3 of the 2019 NFL Season.

Thursday, September 19th
Tennessee Titans (1-1) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)- 8:20, NFL: The Titans are coming off a divisional home loss against the Indianapolis Colts. The Jaguars are coming off a tough divisional road loss in Houston against the Texans. I'm not sold on this Titans team and it showed in their loss a week ago and sans the Jalen Ramsey drama with the Jags, I think they come out and win this game at home in a low scoring affair.
Prediction: Jacksonville 20, Tennessee 13.

Sunday, September 22nd
Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) vs Buffalo Bills (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Bengals are coming off a disastrous home loss against the San Francisco 49ers. The Bills are coming off their second road win in East Rutherford in a row, this time against the Giants. The Bengals are definitely one of the worst five teams in the league and the Bills are clearly an improved team. Give me Josh Allen and the Bills to remain unbeaten.
Prediction: Buffalo 27, Cincinnati 13.

Miami Dolphins (0-2) vs Dallas Cowboys (2-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Dolphins are coming off yet another dismal performance, this time at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Cowboys are coming off a divisional road win in Landover against the Redskins. Josh Rosen is starting for the Dolphins this week and I don't think that will change anything for the Fins and the Cowboys are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Dallas 35, Miami 10.

Denver Broncos (0-2) vs Green Bay Packers (2-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Broncos are coming off a heartbreaking home loss against the Chicago Bears. The Packers are coming off a divisional home win over the Minnesota Vikings, I feel that the Broncos are better than their 0-2 mark and the Packers are a fraudulent 2-0, but the Packers defense will be the best unit on the field and they'll remain unbeaten.
Prediction: Green Bay 24, Denver 16.

Atlanta Falcons (1-1) vs Indianapolis Colts (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Falcons are coming off a Sunday Night home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Colts are coming off a divisional road win in Nashville against the Titans. The Falcons have the quarterback edge, but the Colts are home and arguably have the better roster and I can see Marlon Mack having success with the Colts great offensive line against the Falcons pass rush. No Darius Leonard is a big deal, but I think the Colts survive without him for this week.
Prediction: Indianapolis 24, Atlanta 20.

Baltimore Ravens (2-0) vs Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: This is a great game and the best one of week three! The Ravens are coming off a narrow home win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Chiefs are coming off a divisional road win in Oakland against the Raiders. I expect a lot of points in this game sans bad weather, and I expect Patrick Mahomes to find a way to keep the Chiefs unbeaten.
Prediction: Kansas City 31, Baltimore 27.

Oakland Raiders (1-1) vs Minnesota Vikings (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Raiders are coming off a disappointing divisional home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Vikings are coming off a divisional road loss in Green Bay against the Packers. This screams Vikings blow out win with both units clicking on all cylinders.
Prediction: Minnesota 30, Oakland 13.

New York Jets (0-2) vs New England Patriots (2-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Jets are coming off a brutal Monday Night home loss against the Cleveland Browns and now with Trevor Semian's broken ankle, are down to their third string quarterback in Luke Faulk. The Patriots are coming off a shutout road win in Miami against the Dolphins. This screams domination for the Pats against their depleted divisional rival.
Prediction: New England 34, NY Jets 6.

Detroit Lions (1-0-1) vs Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Lions are coming off a nice home  win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Eagles are coming off a Sunday Night road loss in Atlanta against the Falcons. The Eagles are littered with injuries, especially on offense, but I'm not sold on the Lions offense that much and I expect the Eagles to win a low scoring game.
Prediction: Philadelphia 20, Detroit 16.

Carolina Panthers (0-2) vs Arizona Cardinals (0-1-1)- 4:05, FOX: The Panthers are coming off a brutal Thursday Night divisional home loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cardinals are coming off a road loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. The Cards showed me a lot a week ago and I think Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury get the win here at home against the Cam Newton-less Panthers.
Prediction: Arizona 27, Carolina 20.

New York Giants (0-2) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)- 4:05, FOX: The Giants are coming off a home loss against the Buffalo Bills. The Bucs are coming off a nice Thursday Night divisional road win in Charlotte against the Panthers. Daniel Jones is making his first start for the Giants today and yes the defense is horrible, but Jameis Winston is someone that tends to turn the ball over regardless of how bad the opposing defense is. Big Blue gets their first win of the season courtesy of Jones and Saquon Barkley.
Prediction: NY Giants 26, Tampa Bay 20.

Houston Texans (1-1) vs Los Angeles Chargers (1-1)- 4:25, CBS: The Texans are coming off a divisional home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chargers are coming off a bad road loss in Detroit against the Lions in which their offense was inept. I expect both teams offenses to bounce back here and I think the Chargers will come out on top because I think Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram to take advantage of a bad Texans offensive line.
Prediction: LA Chargers 30, Houston 27.

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-2) vs San Francisco 49ers (1-1)- 4:25, CBS: The Steelers are coming off a brutal home loss against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers are coming off a big road win in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Mason Rudolph is starting for the Steelers with Ben Rothlisberger out for the season with a shoulder injury and they lost last week due to their defense, which they improved with the trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick. I think the Steelers get their first win in a shootout.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 27, San Francisco 24.

New Orleans Saints (1-1) vs Seattle Seahawks (2-0)- 4:25, CBS: The Saints are coming off a road loss in Los Angeles against the Rams. The Seahawks are coming off a good road win in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. Drew Brees is out for six weeks with a finger injury and Teddy Bridgewater is starting, who looked awful last week in relief. Russell Wilson has a big day to keep the Seahawks unbeaten.
Prediction: Seattle 27, New Orleans 16.

Los Angeles Rams (2-0) vs Cleveland Browns (1-1)- 8:20, NBC: The Rams are coming off a big home win over the New Orleans Saints sans Drew Brees getting hurt in the game. The Browns are coming off a Monday Night road win in East Rutherford against the Jets. Many people love the Rams in this spot due to the fact the Browns don't have a match for Aaron Donald, but I love the Browns in this spot as the crowd in Cleveland will be ruckus in what should be a fun game.
Prediction: Cleveland 26, LA Rams 23.

Monday, September 23rd
Chicago Bears (1-1) vs Washington Redskins (0-2)- 8:15, ESPN: The Bears are coming off a big road win in Denver against the Broncos thanks to an Eddie Piniero kick as time expired. The Redskins are coming off a divisional home loss against the Dallas Cowboys. The Bears defense is awesome and I think Case Keenum is in for a long night as the Bears get the road primetime win.
Prediction: Chicago 26, Washington 13.

2019 WNBA Playoffs: Semifinal Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Semifinals of the 2019 WNBA Playoffs, which are now Best Of 5 series's.

(3) Los Angeles Sparks vs (2) Connecticut Sun (23-11)- This should be a good series between these toe talented teams. The Sun have been awesome led by their All-Star duo of Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones. The Sparks are coming off their Second Round win over the Seattle Storm and Candice Parker and Chelsea Gray led the way for them. Both of these teams are very talented and I believe this series will be competitive and I think the Sparks because of their depth take this series and advance to the WNBA Finals for the third time in four seasons.
Prediction: Sparks in four games.

(4) Las Vegas Aces vs (1) Washington Mystics (26-8)- The Aces are a team that won a hard fought game over the Chicago Sky to advance here courtesy of a lucky shot by Dearica Hamby. The Mystics are the best team in the WNBA this season led by Elena Delle Donne and Kristi Tolliver. The Aces are deep led by Liz Cambage, A'ja Wilson, and Kayla McBride, but Delle Donne is the best player in the league and she'll lead the Mystics to the WNBA Finals for the second season in a row in what should be a great series.
Prediction: Mystics in five games.

2019 WNBA Playoffs: Second Round Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Second Round of the 2019 WNBA Playoffs.

Sunday, September 15th
(6) Seattle Storm vs (3) Los Angeles Sparks (22-12)- 3:00, ESPN2: The Storm are coming off a nice First Round home win over the Minnesota Lynx thanks to a great performance by Jordin Canada. The Sparks have had a great year and have a bunch of great players such as Candice Parker, Nneka and Chine Ogwumike, and Chelsea Gray. I think this game will be competitive and Canada, Jewell Loyd, and Natasha Howard will keep the Storm in the game and I think they can win the game, especially if Sparks coach Derek Fisher doesn't make the proper decisions down the stretch. That said, home court will prevail for the Sparks as the Storm will miss Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird.
Prediction: Sparks

(5) Chicago Sky vs (4) Las Vegas Aces (21-13)- 5:00, ESPN2: The Sky are coming off a tremendous all around performance in their First Round win over the Phoenix Mercury who were missing Diana Taurasi due to a hamstring injury and lost Brittney Griner in the middle of the game due to a knee injury. The Aces have had a great season this season with Liz Cambage, A'ja Wilson, and Kayla McBride leading the way. The Sky have a big three of their own in Allie Quigley, Courtney Vandersloot, and Diamond DeShields, but I think the Aces have the better team with a better head coach in Bill Lambeer.
Prediction: Aces

2019 NFL Week 2 Picks

Here are my picks for week two of the 2019 NFL season.

Thursday, September 12th
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1) vs Carolina Panthers (0-1)- 8:20, NFLN: The Bucs are coming off a home loss against the San Francisco 49ers in which Jameis Winston threw two pick sixes in. The Panthers are coming off a tough home loss against the Los Angeles Rams. This is a good opportunity for the Panthers offense to get going a bit and for Christian McCaffrey to have an absolute monster game to give the Cats an important win.
Prediction: Carolina 34, Tampa Bay 17.

Sunday, September 15th
San Francisco 49ers (1-0) vs Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The 49ers are coming off a road win in Tampa against the Buccaneers. The Bengals are coming off a tough road loss in Seattle against the Seahawks. The Bengals may be a better team than expected, but I think they revert back to reality this week as the Niners go to 2-0.
Prediction: San Francisco 24, Cincinnati 17.

Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) vs Detroit Lions (0-0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Chargers are coming off an overtime home win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Lions are coming off a tie in Glendale against the Cardinals in which the Lions led most of the game in. The Chargers are the way better team here and Philip Rivers will torch the Lions secondary.
Prediction: LA Chargers 33, Detroit 19.

Minnesota Vikings (1-0) vs Green Bay Packers (1-0)- 1:00, FOX: This is a pretty big game for week two. The Vikings are coming off a big home win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Packers are coming off a divisional road win in Chicago against the Bears courtesy of their fine defense. Both of these teams are good defensively and I think the Vikings have the better defense and I think they get a key divisional road win here.
Prediction: Minnesota 23, Green Bay 20.

Indianapolis Colts (0-1) vs Tennessee Titans (1-0)- 1:00, CBS: The Colts are coming off a tough overtime road loss in Los Angeles against the Chargers. The Titans are coming off a great road win in Cleveland against the Browns. I'm not sold on the Titans whatsoever and I feel that performance was more about the Browns and how they took them for granted and I liked what I saw from the Colts last week with the exception of Adam Vinateri, who cost them the game with a few missed kicks.
Prediction: Indianapolis 28, Tennessee 17.

New England Patriots (1-0) vs Miami Dolphins (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Patriots are coming off an ass kicking Sunday night home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Dolphins are coming off just a dreadful home loss against the Baltimore Ravens and the tanking narrative surrounding the team kept growing, especially in the wake of players requesting trades (already!). Antonio Brown is playing for the Pats in this game and he's going to have a great debut and remind people he's still a great player in this league. This is my lock of the week.
Prediction: New England 45, Miami 17.

Buffalo Bills (1-0) vs New York Giants (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming off a come from behind road win in East Rutherford against the Jets. The Giants are coming off a divisional road loss in Arlington against the Cowboys. Josh Allen showed me something last week shrugging off the turnovers he had in the Jets and leading his team back and I think he will make big throws and the defense will stop Saquon Barkley enough to get their second win in a row at MetLife.
Prediction: Buffalo 27, NY Giants 20.

Seattle Seahawks (1-0) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Seahawks are coming off a home win against the Cincinnati Bengals in which they looked awfully vulnerable in. The Steelers are coming off a disastrous road loss in Foxboro against the Patriots. The Steelers are a much better team than they showed a week ago and I think they'll bounce back in a big way.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 35, Seattle 17.

Dallas Cowboys (1-0) vs Washington Redskins (0-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Cowboys are coming off a great divisional home win over the New York Giants. The Redskins are coming off a divisional road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles in which they were competitive in. The Cowboys are the much better team and the Skins offensive success I feel had more to do with the Eagles sleepwalking more than if they're actually a good offense.
Prediction: Dallas 38, Washington 20.

Arizona Cardinals (0-0-1) vs Baltimore Ravens (1-0)- 1:00, FOX: The Cardinals are coming off a tie at home against the Detroit Lions. The Ravens are coming off a dominant road win in Miami against the tanking Dolphins. The Cardinals weren't good the first three quarters last week and the Ravens are a better team than the Lions, so Kyler Murray could be in for a rude awakening.
 Prediction: Baltimore 28, Arizona 16.

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) vs Houston Texans (0-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Jaguars are coming off a home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in which Nick Foles broke his collarbone in and Gardner Minshew didn't look bad filling in. The Texans are coming off a heartbreaking Monday Night road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. I expect points to be scored in this game but I trust the Texans position guys around DeShaun Watson than Minshew's with the Jags.
Prediction: Houston 30, Jacksonville 24.

Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) vs Oakland Raiders (1-0)- 4:05, CBS: The Chiefs are coming off a nice road win in Jacksonville against the Jaguars despite facing a backup quarterback most of the game. The Raiders are coming off a nice Monday Night home win over the division rival Denver Broncos. The Raiders showed me a lot last week, but I don't see them stopping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense despite Tyreek Hill being hurt.
Prediction: Kansas City 38, Oakland 30.

Chicago Bears (0-1) vs Denver Broncos (0-1)- 4:25, FOX: The Bears are coming off a dreadful season opening home loss against the Green Bay Packers despite the defense holding Aaron Rodgers in check. The Broncos are coming off a disappointing divisional Monday Night road loss in Oakland against the Raiders. This is a risky pick considering how poor Mitch Trubisky and Joe Flacco played respectively, I'm taking Flacco's team to get the bounce back home win as their pass rush will wake up too.
Prediction: Denver 24, Chicago 20.

New Orleans Saints (1-0) vs Los Angeles Rams (1-0)- 4:25, FOX: Here's the best game of Week 2! Rematch of the NFC Championship game from a season ago. The Saints are coming off a thrilling Monday Night home win over the Houston Texans. The Rams are coming off a road win in Charlotte against the Panthers. I wanted to pick the Saints here as they're motivated after what happened last season, but despite the Eric Weddle injury in the secondary I like the Rams here at home.
Prediction: LA Rams 30, New Orleans 27.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) vs Atlanta Falcons (0-1)- 8:20, NBC: The Eagles are coming off a divisional home win against the Washington Redskins. The Falcons are coming off a rough road loss in Minneapolis against the Vikings. This screams "bounce back" for the Falcons, who looked inept offensively a week ago against a defense in the Vikings that is much better than the Eagles defense.
 Prediction: Atlanta 33, Philadelphia 26.

Monday, September 16th
Cleveland Browns (0-1) vs New York Jets (0-1)- 8:20, ESPN: The Browns are coming off a disastrous home loss against the Tennessee Titans. The Jets are coming off a heartbreaking divisional home loss against the Buffalo Bills. On top of the tough loss, the Jets learned that Sam Darnold has mono and he's going to miss time. Trevor Siemian will start for the Jets and it's a drop off, but not a large drop off. That said, I expect a big bounce back game from Baker Mayfield and he'll carve up the Jets weak secondary and the defense lost CJ Mosley due to a groin injury. Don't underestimate that this is Odell Bekcham Jr's return to MetLife (granted it's not against his old team) and he's bound to have a monster game.
Prediction: Cleveland 27, NY Jets 16.

2019 College Football Week 2: Picks

Here are my picks for week two of the 2019 College Football season.

Friday, September 13th
North Carolina (2-0; 1-0) at Wake Forest (2-0; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN: This is all of a sudden a big "non-conference" game between these two in-state rivals that are unbeaten at the moment. I really like how Mac Brown's team in this spot on the road to remain unbeaten.
Pick: North Carolina

Kansas (1-1; 0-0) at Boston College (2-0; 1-0)- 7:30, ACCN
Pick: Boston College

(20) Washington State (2-0; 0-0) vs Houston (1-1; 0-0)- 9:15, ESPN: This game is being played at NRG Stadium in Houston. The Cougars have a nice home field advantage and I think D'Eriq King leads the Cougars to a big upset win.
Pick: Houston

Saturday, September 14th
Arkansas State (1-1; 0-0) at (3) Georgia (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPN2
Pick: Georgia

(6) Ohio State (2-0; 0-0) at Indiana (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, FOX
Pick: Ohio State

Pittsburgh (1-1; 0-1) at (13) Penn State (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ABC
Pick: Penn State

(21) Maryland (2-0; 0-0) at Temple (1-0; 0-0)- 12:00, CBSSN: Some people see this as a letdown/trap spot for the Terps, but I don't think the Owls are a team capable of pulling off an upset.
Pick: Maryland

Miami-Ohio (1-1; 0-0) at Cincinnati (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: Cincinnati

Chattanooga (1-1; 0-0) at Tennessee (0-2; 0-0)- 12:00, SECN: If the Vols can't beat an FCS school...
Pick: Tennessee

Kansas State (2-0; 0-0) at Mississippi State (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, ESPN: This is an interesting game between two teams that people weren't that high on before the season. Tommy Stevens is not healthy, but he'll probably play and I just feel the Bulldogs are the better team here.
Pick: Mississippi State

Furman (1-1; 0-0) at Virginia Tech (1-1; 0-1)- 12:00, ACCN
Pick: Virginia Tech

NC State (2-0; 0-0) at West Virginia (1-1; 0-0)- 12:00, FS1: Here's a battle of two teams that aren't very good. The Wolfpack played a super easy schedule meanwhile the Mountaineers played a tough schedule. The Mountaineers are a popular upset pick this week, but I don't think their offense is good enough to make big plays down the stretch, but I do think they'll cover the +6.5 point spread.
Pick: NC State

Eastern Michigan (1-1; 0-0) at Illinois (2-0; 0-0)- 12:00, BTN
Pick: Illinois

The Citadel (0-2; 0-0) at Georgia Tech (1-1; 0-1)- 12:30, ACCN
Pick: Georgia Tech

Air Force (1-0; 0-0) at Colorado (2-0; 0-0)- 1:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Colorado

FAU (1-1; 0-0) at Ball State (1-1; 0-0)- 2:30, ESPN+
Pick: FAU

Norfolk State (1-1; 0-0) at Coastal Carolina (1-1; 0-0)- 2:00, ESPN3
Pick: Coastal Carolina

New Mexico (1-0; 0-0) at (7) Notre Dame (1-0)- 2:30, NBC
Pick: Notre Dame

Akron (0-2; 0-0) at Central Michigan (1-1; 0-0)- 3:00, ESPN+
Pick: Central Michigan

(2) Alabama (2-0; 0-0) at South Carolina (1-1; 0-0)- 3:30, CBS
Pick: Alabama

Stanford (1-1; 0-0) at (17) UCF (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN: The Cardinal are a team that just lost it's best offensive lineman for the season although they get quarterback KJ Costillo back from a concussion. The Knights are a team that's great offensively and I think they win this game perhaps by double digits.
Pick: UCF

(24) USC (2-0; 0-0) at BYU (1-1)- 3:30, ABC: This should be an entertaining game between these two teams. I'm not in love with the Cougars and they probably should have lost to the Vols. I like what I saw from new Trojans quarterback Kedon Slovis and I like the Trojans to get a big road win.
Pick: USC

East Carolina (1-1; 0-0) at Navy (1-0; 0-0)- 3:30, CBSSN
Pick: Navy

Memphis (2-0; 0-0) at South Alabama (1-1; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPNU
Pick: Memphis

Army (1-1) at UTSA (1-1; 0-0) 3:30, NFL
Pick: Army

Georgia Southern (1-1; 0-0) at Minnesota (2-0; 0-0)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Minnesota

UNLV (1-1; 0-0) at Northwestern (0-1; 0-0)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Northwestern

Oklahoma State (2-0; 0-0) at Tulsa (1-1; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN2
Pick: Oklahoma State

Arizona State (2-0; 0-0) at (18) Michigan State (2-0; 0-0)- 4:00, FOX: This is a classic revenge spot for the Spartans, who lost in Tempe last season. The Sun Devils offense has struggled thus far and it won't get better against a great Sparty defense.
Pick: Michigan State

(19) Iowa (2-0; 0-0) at Iowa State (1-0; 0-0)- 4:00, FS1: This is a big one as GameDay makes it's first appearance in Ames for the Cy-Hawk. The Cyclones are a team that barely beat an FCS team in week one and with two weeks to prepare I like them to get the big win at home.
Pick: Iowa State

Southeastern Louisiana (1-0; 0-0) at Ole Miss (1-1; 0-0)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Ole Miss

Colorado State (1-1; 0-0) at Arkansas (1-1; 0-1)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Arkansas

Louisville (1-1; 0-0) vs WKU (1-1; 0-0)- 4:00: This game will be played in Nashville. I don't love this Cardinals team this season, but they should beat the Hilltoppers.
Pick: Louisville

Bethune-Cookman (1-0; 0-0) at Miami (0-2; 0-1)- 4:00, ACCN
Pick: Miami

Idaho State (1-0; 0-0) at (15) Utah (2-0; 0-0)- 4:15, Pac-12N
Pick: Utah

North Texas (1-1; 0-0) at California (2-0; 1-0)- 4:15, Pac-12N
Pick: California

Cal Poly (1-1; 0-0) at Oregon State (0-2; 0-0)- 4:15, Pac-12N
Pick: Oregon State

Louisiana Tech (1-1; 0-0) at Bowling Green (1-1; 0-0)- 5:00, ESPN+
Pick: Louisiana Tech

Idaho (1-1; 0-0) at Wyoming (2-0; 0-0)- 5:00, ESPN3
Pick: Wyoming

Buffalo (1-1; 0-0) at Liberty (0-2)- 6:00, ESPN+
Pick: Buffalo

SC State (2-0; 0-0) at South Florida (0-2; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN3
Pick: South Florida

Massachusetts (0-2) at Charlotte (1-1; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+
Pick: Charlotte

Southern Miss (1-1; 0-0) at Troy (1-0; 0-0)- 6:00, ESPN+
Pick: Troy

Ohio (1-1; 0-0) at Marshall (1-0; 0-0)- 6:30
Pick: Marshall

Kent State (1-1; 0-0) at (8) Auburn (2-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN2
Pick: Auburn

(9) Florida (2-0; 0-0) at Kentucky (2-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN: If the Wildcats quarterback was not injured, I'd take them to win this game outright. But, the Gators are the pick here in a close one on the road.
Pick: Florida

Lamar (2-0; 0-0) at (16) Texas A&M (1-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPNU
Pick: Texas A&M

New Hampshire (0-1; 0-0) at FIU (0-2; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: FIU

Texas State (0-2; 0-0) at SMU (2-0; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: SMU

Weber State (1-1; 0-0) at Nevada (1-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Nevada

Georgia State (2-0; 0-0) at Western Michigan (1-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN+
Pick: Western Michigan

Murray State (1-1; 0-0) at Toledo (0-1; 0-0)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Toledo

Duke (1-1; 0-0) at Middle Tennessee (0-1; 0-0)- 7:00
Pick: Duke

(1) Clemson (2-0; 1-0) at Syracuse (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, ABC: This is a game the Orange had circled on their calendar since last season and this time, I think the Tigers win big here at The Dome as Trevor Lawrence has his best game of the early season.
Pick: Clemson

Northwestern State (0-2; 0-0) at (4) LSU (2-0; 0-0)- 7:30, SECN
Pick: LSU

Hawaii (2-0; 0-0) at (23) Washington (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, Pac-12N: This screams bounce back for the Huskies, who had a terrible loss at home against Cal. The Rainbow Warriors got lucky winning their first two games and it'll show here.
Pick: Washington

Florida State (1-1; 0-0) at (25) Virginia (2-0; 1-0)- 7:30, ACCN: This is a statement spot for the Cavaliers to show that they're for real and I believe they'll get the job done against a Seminoles team that doesn't have the talent on defense.
Pick: Virginia

TCU (1-0; 0-0) at Purdue (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, BTN: The Boiler Makers don't have their quarterback for this game and I liked the Horn Frogs in this spot either way, but I love them more now.
Pick: TCU

Southeast Missouri State (1-1; 0-0) at Missouri (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, SECN
Pick: Missouri

Texas Southern (0-2; 0-1) at Louisiana (1-1; 0-0)- 7:30, ESPN3
Pick: Louisiana

(5) Oklahoma (2-0; 0-0) at UCLA (0-2; 0-0)- 8:00, FOX: Chip Kelly is in for a rude awakening against Jalen Hurts and the Sooners at home.
Pick: Oklahoma

(12) Texas (1-1; 0-0) vs Rice (0-2; 0-0)- 8:00, CBSSN: This game will be played in Houston at NRG Stadium. The Longhorns will put up a number in this game against a bad Rice team.
Pick: Texas

San Diego State (2-0; 0-0) at New Mexico State (0-2)- 8:00
Pick: San Diego State

Missouri State (0-1; 0-0) at Tulane (1-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN3
Pick: Tulane

Northern Illinois (1-1; 0-0) at Nebraska (1-1; 0-0)- 8:00, FS1
Pick: Nebraska

Portland State (1-1; 0-0) at (22) Boise State (2-0; 0-0)- 10:15, ESPN2
Pick: Boise State

Texas Tech (2-0; 0-0) at Arizona (1-1; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPN: Both of these teams obviously can score at a premium against Swiss cheese defenses which both of these teams have. Home teams in #Pac12AfterDark always come through so give me the Wildcats.
Pick: Arizona

Montana (2-0; 0-0) at (15) Oregon (1-1; 0-0)- 10:45, Pac-12N
Pick: Oregon
