2017 MLB Award Predictions

Here are my award predictions for the 2017 MLB season.

- American League
MVP: Josh Donaldson, Toronto Blue Jays- Donaldson won the MVP two seasons ago and I believe he's the forgotten player in the conversations. The Jays lost Edwin Encarnacion in free agency this winter but Donaldson will have a big season to lead his team to the playoffs again.
Runner up: Manny Machado, Baltimore Orioles

Cy Young: Corey Kluber, Cleveland Indians- Kluber was a finalist last season, but I believe he wins it this season. He is the ace of a loaded rotation in Cleveland and he'll be dominant this season yet again.
Runner up: Chris Sale, Boston Red Sox

Rookie of the Year: Andrew Benintendi, Boston Red Sox- Benintendi is the runaway favorite for this award and rightfully so. He will be hitting third in a loaded Red Sox lineup and he'll have a ton of opportunities to drive in runs.
Runner up: Aaron Judge, New York Yankees

Manager of the Year: Jeff Banister, Texas Rangers- Many people think Banister's team will take a step back this season. I don't necessarily believe that. This is still a playoff team to me and Banister will get his due.
Runner up: John Gibbons, Toronto Blue Jays

- National League
MVP: Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers- Seager was amazing in his rookie season and expect him to be even better in his second season. He is already the best shortstop in baseball and it will show this season.
Runner up: Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs

Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers- Kershaw is still the best pitcher on the planet and he should be the favorite to win this award. Expect some competition though because the National League is loaded with good pitching.
Runner up: Noah Syndergaard, New York Mets

Rookie of the Year: Dansby Swanson, Atlanta Braves- Swanson is a heavy favorite for this award and rightfully so. The comparisons to Derek Jeter are legit. The Diamondbacks will keep regretting trading him for Shelby Miller.
Runner up: Robert Gsellman, New York Mets

Manager of the Year: Mike Matheny, St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals are a team many think will take a step back, but I'm not really buying that notion either. The loss of Alex Reyes from Tommy John surgery will hurt, but they have the depth to overcome it and Matheny will get his due.
Runner up: Joe Maddon, Chicago Cubs
