2016 MLB Award Predictions

Here are my predictions for the 2016 MLB season awards.

American League
MVP: Eric Hosmer, Kansas City Royals- I'll admit I'm taking a flyer here. I do think Hosmer is poised for a big season for a team I believe is among the best in the American League. What can hurt his case is if other teammates of his have just as good of years as Hosmer.
Runner up: Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels

Cy Young: David Price, Boston Red Sox- Price has been amazing these last few seasons and he usually does pitch well against the American League East. There will be many candidates for this award.
Runner up: Dallas Keuchel, Houston Astros

Rookie of the Year: Joey Gallo, Texas Rangers- You have to believe the Rangers will call up Gallo at some point (he still has rookie eligibility). He's so talented and will see playing time whether it's at third base (if Adrian Beltre is hurt or has a day off) or in the outfield.
Runner up: Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins

Manager of the Year: Ned Yost, Kansas City Royals- It's not a sexy pick, but I believe the Royals will have the best record in the American League and Yost will get his due.
Runner up: Joe Girardi, New York Yankees

National League
MVP: Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs- Yes it's his second season in the bigs, but this kid is something special. Teammate Anthony Rizzo will be in the conversation too, but Bryant will have the better season on the best team in the league.
Runner up: Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals

Cy Young: Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants- Bumgarner is due to win this at some point and this is the year he finally gets it. Like the American League side, there will be some competition for this award.
Runner up: Jake Arrieta, Chicago Cubs

Rookie of the Year: Steven Matz, New York Mets- Matz showed a lot last season in the bigs in his short time. I believe he'll be even better this season and he still has rookie eligibility.
Runner up: Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers

Manager of the Year: Mike Matheny, St. Louis Cardinals- Expectations haven't been this low for the Cardinals in some time. Some believe their window has closed, but they'll prove there still here to stay as contenders.
Runner up: Bruce Bochy, San Francisco Giants
