2017 NFL Week 9 Picks

Here are my picks for week nine of the 2017 NFL season.

Thursday, November 2nd
Buffalo Bills (5-2) vs New York Jets (3-5)- 8:25, NFLN: Buffalo is coming off a big home win over the Oakland Raiders. New York is coming off a tough home loss against the Atlanta Falcons. I wanted to pick the Jets here and make a case for a letdown/trap game for the Bills, but with the acquisition of Kelvin Benjamin and he very well may play (which I think he will), I'm taking the Bills here on the road.
Prediction: Buffalo 27, NY Jets 20.

Sunday, November 5th
Atlanta Falcons (4-3) vs Carolina Panthers (5-3)- 1:00, FOX: Atlanta is coming off a much needed road win in East Rutherford against the Jets. Carolina is coming off a divisional road win in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers. With the Panthers trading Kelvin Benjamin away, their offense is worse now so give me Matt Ryan and the Falcons on the road.
Prediction: Atlanta 24, Carolina 16.

Indianapolis Colts (2-6) vs Houston Texans (3-4)- 1:00, CBS: Indianapolis is coming off a road loss in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Houston is coming off a tough road loss in Seattle against the Seahawks. The Texans are much better than their 3-4 record and that will show here and also, the Texans are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Houston 37, Indianapolis 16.

Cincinnati Bengals (3-4) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)- 1:00, CBS: Cincinnati is coming off a home win over the Indianapolis Colts. Jacksonville is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won in Indianapolis over the Colts. The Jags defense is outstanding and it got even better with the trade for Marcell Darius and I expect the Jags defense to force Andy Dalton into turnovers to lead them to a win.
Prediction: Jacksonville 27, Cincinnati 17.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5) vs New Orleans Saints (5-2)- 1:00, FOX: Tampa Bay is coming off a putrid divisional home loss against the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans is coming off a home win over the Chicago Bears. I love the Saints here and their improved defense to lead the way to their sixth straight win.
Prediction: New Orleans 30, Tampa Bay 17.

Los Angeles Rams (5-2) vs New York Giants (1-6)- 1:00, FOX: Los Angeles is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they won big in London against the Arizona Cardinals. New York is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost at home against the Seattle Seahawks. The Giants are just a flat out mess and I like the Rams to take advantage of it on the road.
Prediction: Los Angeles 27, New York 19.

Denver Broncos (3-4) vs Philadelphia Eagles (7-1)- 1:00, CBS: Denver is coming off a tough Monday night divisional road loss in Kansas City against the Chiefs. Philadelphia is coming off a home win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles are on fire winning six straight games and I believe they'll win a seventh straight game over the now Brock Osweiler-led Broncos.
Prediction: Philadelphia 27, Denver 17.

Baltimore Ravens (4-4) vs Tennessee Titans (4-3)- 1:00, CBS: Baltimore is coming off a flat out dominant Thursday night home win over the Miami Dolphins. Tennessee is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they won in overtime in Cleveland against the winless Browns. The Titans are perhaps the most overrated team in football that is above .500 and I like the Ravens and their defense to slow down the Titan offense. It certainly helps that Joe Flacco will play this week for the Ravens after that nasty concussion.
Prediction: Baltimore 20, Tennessee 16.

Arizona Cardinals (3-4) vs San Francisco 49ers (0-8)- 4:05, FOX: Arizona is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost badly in London against the Los Angeles Rams. San Francisco is coming off a road loss in Philadelphia against the Eagles. If the Niners started newly acquired quarterback Jimmy Garrapolo I'd feel much better about my pick, but I'll take the Niners to get their first win over the now Drew Stanton-led Cardinals.
Prediction: San Francisco 16, Arizona 13.

Washington Redskins (3-4) vs Seattle Seahawks (5-2)- 4:05, FOX: Washington is coming off a tough divisional home loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Seattle is coming off a great home win over the Houston Texans. The Seahawks have seem to got their offense rolling again and I like them here at home over a reeling Redskins team.
Prediction: Seattle 30, Washington 20.

Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) vs Dallas Cowboys (4-3)- 4:25, CBS: Kansas City is coming off a Monday night divisional home win over the Denver Broncos. Dallas is coming off a big divisional road win in Landover over the Redskins. I was going to pick the Cowboys, but the Ezekiel Elliott suspension finally begins this week, so give me the Chiefs in a close one on the road.
Prediction: Kansas City 27, Dallas 24.

Oakland Raiders (3-5) vs Miami Dolphins (4-3)- 8:30, NBC: Oakland is coming off a dismal road loss in Orchard Park against the Bills. Miami is coming off a disastrous shutout Thursday night road loss in Baltimore against the Ravens. The Raiders absolutely need this game in the worst way and I believe they'll get it especially now that the Dolphins traded Jay Ajayi away.
Prediction: Oakland 30, Miami 16.

Monday, November 6th

Detroit Lions (3-4) vs Green Bay Packers (4-3)- 8:30, ESPN: Detroit is coming off a Sunday night home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay is coming off their bye and two weeks ago they lost at home against the improved New Orleans Saints. If Aaron Rodgers was playing, the Packers would be a no brainer pick here. I like Brett Hundley, but he isn't ready for primetime so give me Matt Stafford and the Lions here on the road although I don't feel great about this pick.
Prediction: Detroit 26, Green Bay 19.
