2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Conference Final Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Conference Final of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Eastern Conference Final
(A2) Boston Bruins vs (WC1) Carolina Hurricanes: This should be a vastly entertaining series. The Bruins are deep offensively led by the likes of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, David Pasternak, Charlie Coyle, and David Krejci. Their defense is deep too led by Torey Krug, Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo, and Zdeno Chara. Tukka Rask has been great in this postseason run so far. The Hurricanes offense is very good led by Sebastian Aho, Andrei Schvetnikov, Teuvo Teräväinen, Justin Williams, and Micheal Ferland. Their defense is deep too led by Dougie Hamilton, Justin Faulk, Adam Fox, and Jaccob Slavin. Petr Mrazek has been very good in the playoffs thus far (many Curtis McHinney stepped up in those games where Mrazek could not go due to the injury he suffered in that Islanders series. Both teams special teams have been very good throughout the postseason. That said, as great as this Hurricanes run has been, the Bruins are the better team and I expect them to go their first Stanley Cup Final in six seasons.
Prediction: Bruins in six games.

Western Conference Final
(P2) San Jose Sharks vs (C3) St. Louis Blues: This is going to be some series as these teams hook up in the same spot as they did three seasons ago. The Sharks are deep offensively led by Tomas Hertl, Timo Meier, Logan Couture, Evander Kane, Gustav Nyquist, and Joe Pavelski. Their defense is solid led by Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson, Marc-Édouard Vlasic, and Brendan Dillon. Mark Jones after a slow start to the postseason has been great. The Blues are deep offensively led by Vladimir Tarasenko, Ryan O'Reilly, Brayden Schenn, Alex Steen, and David Perron. Their deep defensively too with Alex Pietrangelo, Jay Boumeester, Vince Dunn, and Colton Parayko. Jordan Binnington has been amazing in goal throughout this run. Special teams for both teams have been great, especially the Sharks power play. That said, this is bound to go the distance, but I feel that the Blues are the deeper team and that will be the difference.
Prediction: Blues in seven games.
