2016 Stanley Cup Final Prediction

Here is my prediction for the 2016 Stanley Cup Final.

(M2) Pittsburgh Penguins vs (P3) San Jose Sharks: This will be a very fun Cup Final. Pittsburgh is coming off a seven game series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. San Jose is coming off a six game series win over the St. Louis Blues. The Penguins offense has been sensational all playoffs long led by captian Sidney Crosby and a red hot line of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, and Phil Kessel. The Sharks offense has been lights out as well led by their veteran core of captain Joe Pavelski, Joe Thornton, and Patrick Marleau. The Pens defense has taken a few blows such as Trevor Daley missing the rest of the playoffs with a broken ankle, but guys like Olli Maata and Kris Letang have played well throughout the playoffs. The Sharks defense has been great all playoffs long with guys like Brent Burns, Paul Martin, and Marc-Edouard Vlasic. Matt Murray has been awesome for most of the playoffs in the net for the Penguins as well as Martin Jones for the Sharks. This should be a fun series, but no team has been hotter than the Penguins since mid-season and home ice advantage is also on their side so I believe the Pittsburgh Penguins will be your 2016 Stanley Cup Champions although San Jose can't be counted out at all.
Prediction: Penguins in seven games.

Conn Smythe Trophy Pick: Sidney Crosby
