2017-18 NBA Awards Predictions

Here are my award predictions for the 2017-18 NBA season.

MVP: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron is still the best player in the league and he'll be motivated this season. Kyrie Irving was traded for Isaiah Thomas, who will miss the first few months of the season recovering from hip surgery and because of that, LeBron will carry the Cavs most of the way.
Runner up: Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs

Defensive Player of the Year: Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs: Leonard is arguably the best two-way player in the game right now and I almost picked him for the MVP. Leonard is a two-time winner of this award so why not pick him to win a third time?
Runner up: Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors

Sixth Man of the Year: Lou Williams, Los Angeles Clippers: Williams won this award a few seasons ago and I believe he'll win it again on a team that I feel will be better than people think. Williams is better than Jamal Crawford at this point and Crawford isn't even on the Clippers anymore and Williams will swing a bunch a games.
Runner up: Tristian Thompson, Cleveland Cavaliers

Most Improved Player: Otto Porter Jr, Washington Wizards: Porter has shown flashes in the past and this is the year I believe he breaks out this season on a team that I think will be a top 3 seed in the East. Having John Wall as your point guard certainly helps your cause.
Runner up: Gary Harris, Denver Nuggets

Rookie of the Year: Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers: Simmons is the pick here and he would have been the easy pick last season if he didn't break his foot. He'll lead this Sixers team perhaps to the playoffs this season along with Joel Embiid and he'll show why he was the number one overall pick in 2016.
Runner up: Lonzo Ball, Los Angeles Lakers

Coach of the Year: Brett Brown, Philadelphia 76ers: I picked the 76ers to make the playoffs and Brown deserves the credit. Brown made those awful Sixers teams the last few seasons play hard and that's perhaps why he still has a job right now.
Runner up: Brad Stevens, Boston Celtics

Executive of the Year: Sam Presti, Oklahoma City Thunder: Presti is the easy choice here simply because he pulled off big trades for Paul George and Carmelo Anthony without giving up much. Patrick Patterson was another good acquisition for this team as well.
Runner up: Danny Ainge, Boston Celtics
