2017 College Football Week 6: Picks

Here are my picks for week 6 of the 2017 College Football season.

Wednesday, October 4th
Arkansas State (1-2; 0-0) at Georgia Southern (0-3; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN2
Pick: Arkansas State

Thursday, October 5th
(17) Louisville (4-1; 1-1) at (24) North Carolina State (4-1; 2-0)- 8:00, ESPN: What a huge game here. Lamar Jackson and Ryan Finley will light up the scoreboard and I like Finley's team here at home although I thought about taking the Cardinals.
Pick: North Carolina State

Friday, October 6th
Memphis (3-1; 0-1) at Connecticut (1-3; 0-2)- 7:00, ESPN
Pick: Memphis

Boise State (2-2; 1-0) at BYU (1-4)- 10:15, ESPN: Despite their 1-4 record, Tanner Mangum is supposed to be back for the Cougars and they'll keep this game closer than the experts think.
Pick: Boise State

Saturday, October 7th
10/7- Wake Forest (4-1; 1-1) at (2) Clemson (5-0; 3-0)- 12:00, ESPN2
Pick: Clemson

Iowa State (2-2; 0-1) at (3) Oklahoma (4-0; 1-0)- 12:00, FOX
Pick: Oklahoma

(4) Penn State (5-0; 2-0) at Northwestern (2-2; 0-1)- 12:00, ABC: The Wildcats are a decent team so don't be surprised if they give the Nittany Lions a game.
Pick: Penn State

(5) Georgia (5-0; 2-0) at Vanderbilt (3-2; 0-2)- 12:00, ESPN: The Bulldogs have looked dominant the last few weeks and that will continue here against a Commodores team that's struggled a bit lately.
Pick: Georgia

Ole Miss (2-2; 0-1) at (12) Auburn (4-1; 2-0)- 12:00, SECN
Pick: Auburn

Temple (2-3; 0-2) at East Carolina (1-4; 1-1)- 12:00, ESPNU

Pick: Toledo

Illinois (2-2; 0-1) at Iowa (3-2; 0-2) 12:00, BTN
Pick: Iowa

Texas Tech (3-1; 0-1) at Kansas (1-3; 0-0)- 12:00, FS1
Pick: Texas Tech

Duke (4-1; 1-1) at Virginia (3-1; 0-0)- 12:20, ESPN3

(23) West Virginia (3-1; 1-0) at (8) TCU (4-0; 1-0)- 3:30, FS1: This is going to be a good one. ESPN's College GameDay will orientate from Fort Worth as well. Expect a ton of points and for the Frogs to pull it out.
Pick: TCU

(13) Miami (3-0; 1-0) at Florida State (1-2; 1-1)- 3:30, ESPN: This game was supposed to be played a few weeks ago, but it's being played this week. The Canes haven't won against the Noles in a while and that streak will continue here. Give me the Noles at home with all the pressure being on the Canes.
Pick: Florida State

(21) Notre Dame (4-1) at North Carolina (1-4; 0-3)- 3:30, ABC
Pick: Notre Dame

LSU (3-2; 0-1) at (21) Florida (3-1; 1-0)- 3:30, CBS: I'm taking the Gators here regardless of who the quarterback is. The Tigers are a mess.
Pick: Florida

Minnesota (3-1; 0-1) at Purdue (2-2; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN2: This has all the makings of a Boilermakers win due to the fact that it's their first home game since the passing of Joe Tiller and they'll play inspired because of it.
Pick: Purdue

New Mexico State (2-3; 0-1) at Appalachian State (2-2; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Appalachian State

Ball State (2-3; 0-1) at Akron (2-3; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN3

Pick: Idaho

Marshall (3-1; 0-0) at Charlotte (0-5; 0-1)- 6:00
Pick: Marshall

FAU (2-3; 1-0) at Old Dominion (2-2; 0-0)- 6:00
Pick: Old Dominion

Army (3-2) at Rice (1-4; 1-1)- 6:30
Pick: Army

Georgia State (1-2; 0-0) at Coastal Carolina (1-3; 0-1)- 6:30, ESPN3
Pick: Coastal Carolina

SMU (4-1; 1-0) at Houston (3-1; 1-0)- 7:00, CBSSN: This is a sneaky fascinating game and the Cougs benched Kyle Allen. You know what? Give me the Stangs to pull off the upset.
Pick: SMU

Kansas State (3-1; 1-0) at Texas (2-2; 1-0)- 7:00, FS1: This was a tough call, but give me Tom Herman's squad to get a big win here at home.
Pick: Texas

Southern Miss (2-1; 0-0) at UTSA (3-0; 0-0)- 7:00
Pick: UTSA

(1) Alabama (5-0; 2-0) at Texas A&M (4-1; 2-0)- 7:15, ESPN: Can't rule out the Aggies hanging around for a bit but that said, Roll Tide.
Pick: Alabama

(16) Virginia Tech (4-1; 0-1) at Boston College (2-3; 0-2)- 7:15, ESPN2: I love the Hokies to bounce back here, but a closer score than people think is not impossible.
Pick: Virginia Tech

Michigan State (4-1; 2-0) at (7) Michigan (4-0; 1-0)- 7:30, ABC: This should be a fun one in Ann Arbor. No one will forget the ending from two years ago, but give me the Wolverines in a closer game than people think.
Pick: Michigan

Missouri (1-3; 0-2) at Kentucky (4-1; 1-1)- 7:30, SECN
Pick: Kentucky

Fresno State (2-2; 1-0) at San Jose State (1-5; 0-2)- 7:30, ESPN3
Pick: Fresno State

(9) Wisconsin (4-0; 1-0) at Nebraska (3-2; 2-0)- 8:00, BTN
Pick: Wisconsin

(11) Washington State (5-0; 2-0) at Oregon (4-1; 1-1)- 8:00, FOX: Despite not having Justin Herbert, give me the Ducks at home. I see a letdown for the Cougars after their big win over the Trojans.
Pick: Oregon

(25) UCF (3-0; 1-0) at Cincinnati (2-3; 0-1)- 8:00, ESPNU: The newly ranked Knights are heavy favorites here, they'll get the win but the Bearcats will hang around and perhaps cover the point spread.
Pick: UCF

WKU (2-2; 0-1) at UTEP (0-5; 0-1)- 8:00
Pick: WKU

Arizona (2-2; 0-1) at Colorado (3-2; 0-2)- 8:00, Pac-12N
Pick: Colorado

Stanford (3-2; 2-1) at (20) Utah (4-0; 1-0)- 10:15, FS1: Someone explain to me how a 2-loss unranked Cardinal team is favored against a Utes team that's ranked and unbeaten. I love Bryce Love and what he provides, but the Utes should win this one at home.
Pick: Utah

Hawaii (2-3; 0-2) at Nevada (0-5; 0-1)- 10:30, CBSSN
Pick: Nevada

California (3-2; 0-2) at (6) Washington (5-0; 2-0)- 10:45, ESPN
Pick: Washington

Pick: San Diego State
