Here are my predictions for the Second Round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs, which are single-elimination games now in this new playoff format.
Saturday, September 24th
(8) Phoenix Mercury vs (3) New York Liberty; 7:00, NBATV: This should be a fun game that features two star front-court players in Phoenix's Brittney Greiner and New York's Tina Charles. Both teams have stars in the backcourt in New York's Epiphanny Prince and Phoenix's Diana Turasi, who is unbeaten in road elimination games. I believe that changes here as the Liberty win with the MSG crowd behind them and expect a low scoring game.
Prediction: Liberty
Sunday, September 25th
(6) Atlanta Dream vs (4) Chicago Sky; 1:00, ESPN2: This should be a fun game between these two Eastern Conference foes. There's star power here too with Atlanta's Angel McCourty and Chicago's Elena Delle Donne, who will miss this game due to a thumb injury. If Delle Donne were healthy, I would have picked the Sky, but I like McCourty to lead the Dream to a road upset here.
