2016 WNBA Playoffs: Semifinals Predictions

Here are my predictions for the Semifinals of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs, which are best-of-five series's in this new playoff format.

(1) Minnesota Lynx vs (8) Phoenix Mercury: This is what many folks thought was going to be the WNBA finals before the season started, but here we have these teams in the Semifinals. There's a ton of star power with Minnesota's Maya Moore and Phoenix's Brittney Greiner and Diana Turasi. This should be a competitive series, but for the second straight season the Lynx should be back in the WNBA finals.
Prediction: Lynx in four games.

(2) Los Angeles Sparks vs (4) Chicago Sky: Despite losing Elena Delle Donne to a thumb injury, the Sky are here without her. The Sparks have the best players on the court with WNBA Player of the Year Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker and they'll lead the Sparks to the WNBA finals against their conference foe in the Minnesota Lynx.
Prediction: Sparks in three games.
