2018 ACC Tournament Predictions

Here are my predictions for the 2018 ACC tournament. The tournament will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

First Round
3/6- (13) Georgia Tech (13-18; 6-12) vs (12) Boston College (17-14; 7-11)- 12:00, ESPN2: The Eagles have to consider their season a success to this point and I like them to beat the Yellow Jackets here led by Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson although the Jackets will have the best player on the court in Josh Okogie.
Prediction: Boston College

3/6- (15) Pittsburgh (8-23; 0-18) vs (10) Notre Dame (18-13; 8-10)- 2:00, ESPN2: Bonzie Colson is back for the Irish and he'll lead the way along with Matt Farrell against the conferences worst team in the Panthers.
Prediction: Notre Dame

3/6- (14) Wake Forest (11-19; 4-14) vs (11) Syracuse (19-12; 8-10)- 7:00, ESPNU: The Orange absolutely have to win this game if they want to sneak in the field as an at-large and I'm going to say they get the job done led by Tyus Battle against a Demon Deacon teams that's been disappointing this season.
Prediction: Syracuse

Second Round
3/7- (9) Louisville (19-12; 9-9) vs (8) Florida State (20-10; 9-9)- 12:00, ESPN: This is a fascinating game. The Seminoles should be in the field regardless of the result here, but that cannot be said for the Cardinals. The Cardinals need a quality win here to keep their hopes of an at-large alive and I believe they'll get the job done led by Deng Adel.
Prediction: Louisville

3/7- (12) Boston College vs (5) North Carolina State (21-10; 11-7)- 2:00, ESPN: The Wolf Pack can use this win because their out of conference schedule wasn't that strong and I'm going to say Allerik Freeman leads the way here for the Wolf Pack over Jim Christian's squad.
Prediction: North Carolina State

3/7- (10) Notre Dame vs (7) Virginia Tech (21-10; 10-8)- 7:00, ESPN2: I think the Hokies are safe regardless of what happens here that said, I like Colson and Farrell to lead the Irish to the quarterfinals and improve their at-large case.
Prediction: Notre Dame

3/7- (11) Syracuse vs (6) North Carolina (22-9; 11-7)- 9:00, ESPN2: The Tar Heels are the much better team here as Luke Maye and Joel Berry will lead the way to bursts the Oranges's bubble and possibly crush their at-large hopes.
Prediction: North Carolina

Quarterfinals
3/8- (9) Louisville vs (1) Virginia (28-2; 17-1)- 12:00, ESPN: This should be an interesting quarterfinal considering that the Cardinals nearly beat the Cavs last week but lost a 5 point lead with 0.1 seconds left (!!!!). I'm going to take the Cavs, who are the better team here.
Prediction: Virginia

3/8- (5) North Carolina State vs (4) Clemson (22-8; 11-7)- 2:00, ESPN: This is a fascinating game. Both of these teams are heading to the tournament no matter who owns this game, but give me the Tigers led by Marcquise Reed and Gabe DeVoe over a solid Wolf Pack team.
Prediction: Clemson

3/8- (10) Notre Dame vs (2) Duke (25-6; 13-5)- 7:00, ESPN: Colson and Farrell will keep the Irish within striking distance, but give me Marvin Bagley, Wendell Carter, Gary Trent, and Company to advance to the Semis.
Prediction: Duke

3/8- (6) North Carolina vs (3) Miami (22-8; 11-7)- 9:00, ESPN: This is a rematch of a game from last week in which Ja'Quan Newton hit a buzzer-beating three pointer to win the game to the Canes. Newton and Lonnie Walker are very good players, but the Tar Heels are arguably the better team with the two best guys on the court in Maye and Berry.
Prediction: North Carolina

Semifinals
3/9- (4) Clemson vs (1) Virginia- 7:00, ESPN: This should be a fun matchup between two top-25 teams. Reed and DeVoe will keep the Tigers in this game, but the Cavs should win here led by Kyle Guy and Devon Hall.
Prediction: Virginia

3/9- (6) North Carolina vs (2) Duke- 9:00, ESPN: The best rivalry in college basketball meeting for a third time this season would be a ton of fun. Both times these teams met this season the home team pulled away late in the game. In a close game, give me the Blue Devils over the Tar Heels.
Prediction: Duke

Championship
3/9- (2) Duke vs (1) Virginia- 9:00, ESPN: The two best teams in the conference would hook up for the right to win the ACC tournament title. The Blue Devils are playing for a one-seed and I believe they'll get this win over a Cavs team that essentially has the number one overall seed locked up at this point.
Prediction: Duke
