Here are my predictions for the 2018 Big East tournament. The tournament will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
First Round
3/7- (9) St. John's (15-16; 4-14) vs (8) Georgetown (15-14; 5-13)- 7:00, FS1: Home court will propel for the Red Storm.
Prediction: St. John's
3/7- (10) DePaul (11-19; 4-14) vs (7) Marquette (18-12; 9-9)- 9:30, FS1: The Golden Eagles need this game if they want to sneak in as an at-large.
Prediction: Marquette
Second Round
3/8- (9) St. John's vs (1) Xavier (27-4; 15-3)- 12:00, FS1: The Red Storm have the home court, but the Musketeers should win this in a close one.
Prediction: Xavier
3/8- (5) Providence (19-12; 10-8) vs (4) Creighton (21-10; 10-8)- 2:30, FS1: The Blue Jays should be in the field regardless, but the Friars need this game in the worst way and I believe they'll get it.
Prediction: Providence
3/8- (7) Marquette vs (2) Villanova (27-4; 14-4)- 7:00, FS1: The Wildcats end any hope of the Golden Eagles of sneaking in the dance with a dominant performance here.
Prediction: Villanova
3/8- (6) Butler (19-12; 9-9) vs (3) Seton Hall (21-10; 10-8)- 9:30, FS1: Both of these teams should be in regardless of this result. The Pirates have the best player on the court in Angel Delgado, but I like the Bulldogs here to pull off a mild upset.
Prediction: Butler
Semifinals
3/9- (5) Providence vs (1) Xavier- 6:30, FS1: Should be a fun game, but Trevon Bluitt should lead the way for the Musketeers to the conference title game.
Prediction: Xavier
3/9- (6) Butler vs (2) Villanova- 9:30, GS1: The Bulldogs did pick off the Wildcats earlier in the year, but I like Jalen Brunson and Mikael Bridges to lead the way for the Wildcats to advance.
Prediction: Villanova
Championship
3/10- (2) Xavier vs (1) Villanova- 6:30, FOX: Amazing conference championship game right here between the conferences best two teams. A ton of talent on the court, but the Wildcats are the pick here as both teams should be one seeds in the Big Dance.
