2018 NFL Week 6 Picks

Here are my picks for week six of the 2018 NFL season.

Thursday, October 11th
Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) vs New York Giants (1-4)- 8:25, FOX/NFLN: The Eagles are coming off a disappointing home loss against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship rematch. The Giants are coming off a heartbreaking road loss in Charlotte against the Panthers. It's hard to believe that there's a chance these two teams could end up with the same record after tonight, but here we are. That said, I think the Eagles snap their skid and get a road win against a bad Giants team in a game that's supposed to see some bad weather.
Prediction: Philadelphia 23, NY Giants 16.

Sunday, October 14th
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) at Atlanta Falcons (1-4)- 1:00, FOX: The Bucs are coming off their bye and two weeks ago, lost bad in Chicago against the Bears. The Falcons are coming off a bad loss in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. The Falcons are absolutely desperate, but their defense is so bad. This looks like "a year from hell" from the Falcons and I think the Bucs pull off the upset.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 30, Atlanta 27.

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (4-1)- 1:00, CBS: This is a huge divisional game. The Steelers are coming off a huge home win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Bengals coming off a home win over the lowly Miami Dolphins. There's a little bit of a revenge angle here as this was the spot the Steelers lost Ryan Shazier last year, but this time around the Bengals are the better team so give me them to win an important home game.
Prediction: Cincinnati 33, Pittsburgh 30.

Los Angeles Chargers (3-2) at Cleveland Browns (2-2-1)- 1:00, CBS: The Chargers are coming off a divisional home win over the Oakland Raiders. The Browns are coming off an overtime home win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Browns need this game if they want to stay in this AFC playoff race and I like them to pull it off at home.
Prediction: Cleveland 24, LA Chargers 20.

Seattle Seahawks (2-3) vs Oakland Raiders (1-4)- (London); 1:00, FOX: The Seahawks are coming off a tough home loss against the Los Angeles in a game in which they should have won. The Raiders are coming off a bad divisional road loss in Los Angeles against the Chargers. This feels like a letdown for the Seahawks after giving the Rams a game, so the Raiders pull off the upset.
Prediction: Oakland 24, Seattle 20.

Chicago Bears (3-1) at Miami Dolphins (3-2)- 1:00, FOX: The Bears are coming off their bye and two weeks when they crushed the Bucs at home. The Dolphins are coming off a loss in Cincinnati against the Bengals in which they had a double digit lead. This screams "trap" for the Bears, but I just don't think the Dolphins are that good of a team. Khalil Mack leads the way with that defense.
Prediction: Chicago 26, Miami 16.

Arizona Cardinals (1-4) at Minnesota Vikings (2-2-1)- 1:00, FOX: The Cards are coming off their first win of the season in San Francisco against the Jimmy Garappolo-less 49ers. The Vikings are coming off a huge win in Philadelphia against the Eagles. The Vikes learned a few weeks ago that they can't look past a bad team and I think they'll show it and get the win at game.
Prediction: Minnesota 30, Arizona 17.

Indianapolis Colts (1-4) at New York Jets (2-3)- 1:00, CBS: The Colts are coming off a bad Thursday night loss in Foxboro against the Patriots. The Jets are coming off a nice home win over the Denver Broncos. The Colts are ravaged by injuries right now and I think Sam Darnold and the Jets put up another nice performance.
Prediction: NY Jets 26, Indianapolis 20.

Carolina Panthers (3-1) at Washington Redskins (2-2)- 1:00, FOX: The Panthers are coming off a thrilling home win over the lowly New York Giants thanks to a 63-yard field goal. The Redskins are coming off a disastrous Monday night road loss in New Orleans against the Saints. The Skins have been Jekyll & Hyde all year so I'm picking them to win here at home.
Prediction: Washington 27, Carolina 24.

Buffalo Bills (2-3) at Houston Texans (2-3)- 1:00, CBS: The Bills are coming off an upset home win over the Tennessee Titans. The Texans are coming off a big Sunday night overtime home win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Texans have a nice opportunity here to get back to .500 after starting 0-3 and that's what I think happens.
Prediction: Houston 26, Buffalo 13.

Los Angeles Rams (5-0) at Denver Broncos (2-3)- 4:05, FOX: The Rams are coming off a hard fought divisional road win in Seattle against the Seahawks. The Broncos are coming off a bad road loss in East Rutherford against the Jets. I think there's a slim chance the Broncos pull off the outright upset, but I'm going to say the Rams win another close one on the road.
Prediction: LA Rams 32, Denver 26.

Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) at Dallas Cowboys (2-3)- 4:25, CBS: The Jags are coming off a bad road loss in Kansas City against the Chiefs. The Cowboys are coming off a brutal Sunday night overtime road loss in Houston against the Texans. I do think the Cowboys can win this game, but I think Doug Marrone out-coaches Jason "The Clapper" Garrett and Blake Bortles outplays Dak Prescott.
Prediction: Jacksonville 20, Dallas 17.

Baltimore Ravens (3-2) at Tennessee Titans (3-2)- 4:25, CBS: The Ravens are coming off a tough overtime divisional road loss in Cleveland against the Browns. The Titans are coming off a bad loss in Buffalo against the Bills. I fear a bit of a look ahead for the Ravens, but I think they bounce back here on the road.
Prediction: Baltimore 24, Tennessee 17.

Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) at New England Patriots (3-2)- 8:20, NBC: The Chiefs are coming off a good home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots are coming off a big Thursday night home win over the Indianapolis Colts. This screams "double digit Pats win!" That's what I'm doing because Tom Brady always rises to the occasion when their opponent is the team getting more attention.
Prediction: New England 37, Kansas City 26.

Monday, October 15th
San Francisco 49ers (2-3) at Green Bay Packers (2-2-1)- 8:15, ESPN: The 49ers are coming off a bad home loss against the previously winless Arizona Cardinals. The Packers are coming off a bad divisional road loss in Detroit against the Lions. The 49ers are horrendous without Jimmy Garappolo and they're arguably the worst in the league without Jimmy G. Aaron Rodgers will have his best game of the season and the Pack are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Green Bay 27, San Francisco 13.
