2016 College Football Week 6: Picks

Here are my picks for week six of the 2016 College Football season.

Wednesday, October 5th
Georgia Southern (3-1; 2-0) at Arkansas State (0-4; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN2
Pick: Georgia Southern

Thursday, October 6th
Temple (3-2; 1-0) at Memphis (3-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN: This is a fun AAC game we have here. Give me the Tigers and their explosive offense at home.
Pick: Memphis

Western Kentucky (3-2; 1-0) at Louisiana Tech (2-3; 1-1)- 8:00, CBSSN: This is a sneaky decent game in the C-USA. This was a tough call, but give me the Bulldogs to pull it out at home.
Pick: Louisiana Tech

Friday, October 7th
(3) Clemson (5-0; 2-0) at Boston College (3-2; 0-2)- 7:30, ESPN: No Clemson-ing with DeShaun Watson folks.
Pick: Clemson

Tulane (3-1; 0-0) at UCF (3-2; 1-0)- 8:00, ESPNU
Pick: UCF

SMU (2-3; 0-1) at Tulsa (3-1; 0-0)- 8:00, ESPN2
Pick: Tulsa

(19) Boise State (4-0; 1-0) at New Mexico (2-3; 1-0)- 9:00, CBSSN
Pick: Boise State

Saturday, October 8th
Cincinnati (3-2; 0-2) at Connecticut (2-3; 0-0)- 11:30, CBSSN
Pick: Cincinnati

East Carolina (2-3; 0-0) at South Florida (4-1; 1-0)- 12:00, ESPNEWS
Pick: South Florida

Southern Miss (4-1; 2-0) at UTSA (1-3; 0-1)- 12:00
Pick: Southern Miss

TCU (3-2; 1-1) at Kansas (1-3, 0-1)- 12:00, ESPNU
Pick: TCU

Iowa (3-2; 1-1) at Minnesota (3-1; 0-1)- 12:00, BTN: The Gophers lost a winnable game in overtime in Happy Valley last week and I believe they'll bounce back here with a win over a struggling Hawkeyes team.
Pick: Minnesota

Maryland (4-0; 1-0) at Penn State (3-2; 1-1)- 12:00, BTN: The unbeaten Terps are a 1-point favorite here in Happy Valley. I don't agree with that line and that will prove it here as the Nittany Lions will hand the Terps their first loss of the season.
Pick: Penn State

Texas (2-2; 0-1) vs (20) Oklahoma (2-2; 1-0)- 12:00, FS1: This game will be played in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. Will the Longhorns pull the upset for the second straight year? Not so fast. Baker Mayfield leads the way for the Sooners.
Pick: Oklahoma

Notre Dame (2-3) at NC State (3-1; 1-0)- 12:00, ABC: This game is a pick-em (!!) and it shows how much faith people lost in the Irish. I do think the Irish again pull it out to get back to .500 thanks to DeShone Kizer and that explosive offense.
Pick: Notre Dame

LSU (3-2; 2-1) at (18) Florida (4-1; 2-1)- 12:00, ESPN: The Gators might be getting back Luke Del Dio this weekend. The Tigers are getting back Leonard Fournette this weekend. Expect a low scoring game and for the Ed Orgeron to get to 2-0 as interim coach.
Pick: LSU

Auburn (3-2; 1-1) at Mississippi State (2-2; 1-1)- 12:00, SECN: This was a tough call, but give me the Bulldogs to pull it out at home and it could make Gus Malzhan's seat hotter.
Pick: Mississippi State

Georgia Tech (3-2; 1-2) at Pittsburgh (3-2; 0-1)- 12:30, ACCN
Pick: Pittsburgh

Bowling Green (1-4; 0-1) at Ohio (3-2; 1-0)- 2:00, ESPN3
Pick: Ohio

Miami (OH) (0-5; 0-1) at Akron (3-2; 1-0)- 3:00, ESPN3
Pick: Akron

Toledo (3-1; 0-0) at Eastern Michigan (4-1; 1-0)- 3:00, ESPN3
Pick: Toledo

(6) Houston (5-0; 2-0) at Navy (3-1; 2-0)- 3:00, CBSSN
Pick: Houston

Iowa State (1-4; 0-2) at Oklahoma State (3-2; 1-1)- 3:30, ESPNU
Pick: Oklahoma State

Ball State (3-2; 0-1) at Central Michigan (3-2; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Central Michigan

Indiana (3-1; 1-0) at (2) Ohio State (4-0; 1-0)- 3:30, ESPN: The Hoosiers kept it close last season. I don't think it will be that close this time.
Pick: Ohio State

Purdue (2-2; 0-1) at Illinois (1-3; 0-1)- 3:30, BTN
Pick: Illinois

Texas State (2-2; 0-0) at Georgia State (0-4; 0-1)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Georgia State

Charlotte (1-4; 0-1) at Florida Atlantic (1-4; 0-1)- 3:30
Pick: Florida Atlantic

(25) Virginia Tech (3-1; 1-0) at (17) North Carolina (4-1; 2-0)- 3:30, ABC/ESPN2: This is a big one that could help decide the Coastal Division.
Pick: North Carolina

Kent State (1-4; 0-1) at Buffalo (1-3; 0-0)- 3:30, ESPN3
Pick: Buffalo

Air Force (4-0; 1-0) at Wyoming (3-2; 1-0)- 3:30
Pick: Air Force

Army (3-1) at Duke (2-3; 0-2)- 3:30, ACCN
Pick: Army

BYU (2-3) at Michigan State (2-2; 0-2)- 3:30, ABC/ESPN2: Both of these teams need big wins, but Sparty will snap their two-game losing streak and win it at home.
Pick: Michigan State

(9) Tennessee (5-0; 2-0) at (8) Texas A&M (5-0; 3-0)- 3:30, CBS: This is easily the biggest game of the weekend between these two undefeated teams. ESPN's College GameDay will be on hand for it as well. Expect a lot of points from Joshua Dobbs and Trevor Knight, but I like the "Twelfth Man" of College Station to be the difference.
Pick: Texas A&M

(21) Colorado (4-1; 2-0) at USC (2-3; 1-2)- 4:00, Pac-12N: The Buffaloes are off to a great start and are deservedly ranked, but I like the Trojans and Sam Darnold to get back to the .500 mark.
Pick: USC

Vanderbilt (2-3; 0-2) at Kentucky (2-3; 1-2)- 4:00, SECN
Pick: Kentucky

Hawaii (2-3; 1-0) at San Jose State (1-4; 0-1)- 4:30
Pick: San Jose State

Massachusetts (1-4) at Old Dominion (3-2; 2-0)- 6:00
Pick: Old Dominion

Northern Illinois (5-0; 1-0) at Western Michigan (1-4; 1-0)- 6:30, CBSSN
Pick: Western Michigan

Fresno State (1-4; 0-1) at Nevada (2-3; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Nevada

Syracuse (2-3; 0-1) at Wake Forest (4-1; 1-1)- 7:00, ACCN
Pick: Wake Forest

Marshall (1-3; 0-0) at North Texas (2-3; 1-1)- 7:00
Pick: Marshall

(1) Alabama (5-0; 2-0) at (16) Arkansas (4-1; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN: The Razorbacks will keep this closer than the experts think, but I'm not picking against Nick Saban here.
Pick: Alabama

Idaho (2-3; 0-1) at Louisiana-Monroe (1-3; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPN3
Pick: Louisiana-Monroe

(4) Michigan (5-0; 2-0) at Rutgers (2-3; 0-2)- 7:00, ESPN2: The Wolverines are not losing in Piscataway like they did two years ago. No way.
Pick: Michigan

Texas Tech (3-1; 1-0) at Kansas State (2-2; 0-1)- 7:00, ESPNU: Bill Snyder's defense kept them in the game in Morgantown last week, but they'll lead the Wildcats to a win over a Red Raiders team that has a non-existent defense.
Pick: Kansas State

(5) Washington (5-0; 2-0) at Oregon (2-3; 0-2)- 7:30, FOX: The Ducks haven't stopped anyone all season and that will continue with the Huskies coming into Eugene and getting a big road win.
Pick: Washington

Georgia (3-2; 1-2) at South Carolina (2-3; 1-3)- 7:30, SECN: The Bulldogs have to be careful. This game will be closer than the experts think.
Pick: Georgia

FIU (1-4; 0-1) at UTEP (1-4; 0-2)- 8:00
Pick: UTEP

(23) Florida State (3-2; 0-2) at (10) Miami (FL) (4-0; 1-0)- 8:00, ABC: Here's a very interesting game. This was a tough call, but give me Brad Kaaya and the Canes to remain unbeaten.
Pick: Miami (FL)

California (3-2; 1-1) at Oregon State (1-3; 0-1)- 9:00, Pac-12N: The Bears have exceeded expectations so far and they better be careful here in Corvallis, but I think the Bears get it done.
Pick: California

Arizona (2-3; 0-2) at (24) Utah (4-1; 1-1)- 9:00, FS1: I see a bounce back win for the Utes here against Rich Rod and the Wildcats.
Pick: Utah

Utah State (2-3; 0-2) at Colorado State (2-3; 0-2)- 10:00, CBSSN
Pick: Colorado State

Washington State (2-2; 1-0) at (15) Stanford (3-1; 2-1)- 10:30, ESPN: I see a big bounce back game for Christian McCaffrey and the Cardinal here.
Pick: Stanford

UCLA (3-2; 1-1) at Arizona State (4-1; 1-1)- 10:30, ESPN2: The Bruins are a ten-point favorite here mainly because of Josh Rosen. The Sun Devils offense is very good and you know what? I'm taking the Sun Devils to win this game outright and to bounce back from the disastrous loss at the Coliseum against USC.
Pick: Arizona State

UNLV (2-3; 1-0) at San Diego State (3-1; 0-0)- 10:30, ESPNU
Pick: San Diego State
