2014-15 NBA Awards Predictions

Here are my award predictions for the 2014-15 NBA Season.

MVP: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron is my MVP pick by default for two reasons. One, because Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant will miss time with a broken foot. Two, LeBron is still the leagues best player. Expect another MVP for "The King".

Defensive Player of the Year: Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies: Two words- contract year. That is what Gasol is facing this season. Gasol is poised to stay healthy a full season and lead Memphis to 50+ wins. Don't be surprised when people are saying that Gasol is the leagues best center at the seasons end.

Most Improved Player: Kenneth Faried, Denver Nuggets: Faried showed signs that he can be a franchise player in the FIBA World Cup this past summer. I believe Faried carries the great play into the season and he only gets better.

Rookie of the Year: Jabari Parker, Milwaukee Bucks: Parker is the favorite for this award and I believe he will win it. Parker is the best offensive rookie this season and he will show it. Parker will be credited if Milwaukee exceeds expectations.

Sixth Man of the Year: Jamal Crawford, Los Angeles Clippers: Crawford is the best bench player in the league right now. He brings the Clippers instant offense and he is capable of single-handily winning games. He will lead bench players in scoring this season.

Coach of the Year: Gregg Popovich, San Antonio Spurs: Popovich is the best coach in the league. There's other coaches rising, but Pop will still win this award because he is going to do an outstanding job keeping his veterans healthy and in shape.

Executive of the Year: David Griffin, Cleveland Cavaliers: This is a no-brainer. No one had a better offseason than Cleveland, who gets the leagues best player back and acquiring forward Kevin Love. Their bench has been upgraded as well. Expect Griffin to win this award.
