2014 NFL Week 7 Picks

Here are my picks for week seven of the 2014 NFL season.

Thursday, October 16th
(1-5) New York Jets vs (4-2) New England Patriots- Two division rivals are facing off this Thursday night. The Jets are coming off a home loss to Denver. New England is coming off a big road win in Buffalo. New England and quarterback Tom Brady have seem to turned the corner since the disastrous loss a few weeks ago in Kansas City and I expect them to keep the fine play going. Prediction: New England 40, NY Jets 16.

Sunday, October 19th
(2-4) Atlanta Falcons vs (4-2) Baltimore Ravens- Despite the records, this is a pretty decent matchup. Atlanta is coming off a home loss against Chicago. Baltimore is coming off a resounding road win in Tampa. Baltimore is poised for this game and I believe they will get the job done behind their home crowd. Prediction: Baltimore 30, Atlanta 20.

(2-4) Tennessee Titans vs (1-5) Washington Redskins- This matchup is not very intriguing to me what so ever. Washington is coming off a loss in Arizona. Tennessee is coming off a home win over a winless Jacksonville team. Washington has more on offense than Tennessee and I believe that is the difference in this matchup. Prediction: Washington 27, Tennessee 23.

(3-2) Seattle Seahawks vs (1-5) St. Louis Rams- This should be a quite decent matchup considering both teams are better than their records. Seattle is coming off a home loss against Dallas and St. Louis is coming off a tough home loss against San Francisco. I think this is a great opportunity for the defending champions to bounce back with a big road win. Prediction: Seattle 30, St. Louis 21.

(3-2) Cleveland Browns vs (0-6) Jacksonville Jaguars- This matchup can either be good, bad, or ugly. Cleveland is coming off a big home win against Pittsburgh. Jacksonville is winless and is coming off a loss against Tennessee. I have a feeling that this game is going to be close, but quarterback Brian Hoyer and Cleveland will get the job done. Prediction: Cleveland 28, Jacksonville 24.

(3-1-1) Cincinnati Bengals vs (4-2) Indianapolis Colts- This is the best game of the early-afternoon games between two AFC contenders. Cincinnati is coming off a weird tie against Carolina. Indianapolis is coming off a good road win against Houston. This game should be great and live up to its expectations too. I like Indianapolis to win a close one here. Prediction: Indianapolis 31, Cincinnati 24.

(2-4) Minnesota Vikings vs (3-3) Buffalo Bills- This is an interesting game from a few aspects. Minnesota is coming off a home loss against Detroit. Buffalo is coming off a home loss against New England. This should be a fun game, but I think Buffalo comes out on top behind a great home crowd. Prediction: Buffalo 30, Minnesota 23.

(2-3) Miami Dolphins vs (3-3) Chicago Bears- This is one of the more underrated games of the week. Miami is coming off a home loss against Green Bay. Chicago is coming off a big road win against Atlanta. Chicago is surprisingly winless at home and expect that to change this week en route to a big win for Chicago. Prediction: Chicago 31, Miami 20.

(2-3) New Orleans Saints vs (4-2) Detroit Lions- Despite the records, this is a pretty good game. New Orleans is coming off a bye and two weeks ago, an overtime win at home against Tampa Bay. Detroit is coming off a road win against Minnesota. This has the makings of a Detroit let down after a big win over a division rival and a New Orleans team that must win this game if they want to make noise. Prediction: New Orleans 27, Detroit 21.

(3-2-1) Carolina Panthers vs (4-2) Green Bay Packers- This should be a fun game to watch. Carolina is coming off a tie with Cincinnati. Green Bay is coming off a big road win against Miami, in which quarterback Aaron Rodgers led the team to a game winning drive and touchdown to win the game. Expect Green Bay to win their fourth straight game. Prediction: Green Bay 38, Carolina 24.

(2-3) Kansas City Chiefs vs (5-1) San Diego Chargers- This is the most underrated game of the weekend. Kansas City is coming off a bye and two weeks ago, they lost in San Francisco in a game they arguably should've won. San Diego is coming off a win in Oakland, in a game which they almost lost. I would not be surprised if Kansas City wins this game, but I see San Diego squeaking this one out. Prediction: San Diego 33, Kansas City 27.

(4-1) Arizona Cardinals vs (0-5) Oakland Raiders- Arizona is coming off a home win against Washington. Oakland is coming off a home loss against San Diego, in which they played very well in. If Oakland plays the way they did last week, this game actually has a chance to be better than it looks like on paper. Don't be surprised if this game is close, but expect Arizona to win. Prediction: Arizona 31, Oakland 27.

(3-3) New York Giants vs (5-1) Dallas Cowboys- One of the leagues best rivalries are facing off at a perfect time. The Giants are coming off a bad loss in Philadelphia. Dallas is coming off a huge win in Seattle. Do you think this has the making of a Dallas letdown after a big win and a Giant bounce back after a bad loss? I do. Don't be surprised if that happens. Prediction: NY Giants 34, Dallas 31.

(4-2) San Francisco 49ers vs (4-1) Denver Broncos- This is a very intriguing game for a Sunday night. San Francisco is coming off a big road Monday night win against St. Louis. Denver is coming off a road win against the Jets at MetLife. Denver quarterback Peyton Manning is poised to break the all time touchdown record and I believe he gets that and a big win. Prediction: Denver 37, San Francisco 27.

(3-3) Houston Texans vs (3-3) Pittsburgh Steelers- This should be a fun Monday night game. Houston is coming off a home loss against Indianapolis. Pittsburgh is coming of a bad loss against on the road in Cleveland. Behind a great home crowd, expect Pittsburgh to squeeze this game out with a great effort. Prediction: Pittsburgh 24, Houston 20.
