2015 WNBA Awards

Here are my award picks for the 2015 WNBA Season.

MVP- Maya Moore, Minnesota Lynx: Moore is the best player in the WNBA and she should win the MVP award because she averaged 20.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game. Moore carried her team to the top seed of the Western Conference as well.
Runner up: Tina Charles, New York Liberty.

Defensive Player of the Year- Brittney Griner, Phoenix Mercury: Griner missed the early part of the season because of a suspension, but she came back and she's still the deserving winner in my eyes of this award. She averaged 15.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game.
Runner up: Elena Delle-Donne, Chicago Sky.

Rookie of the Year- Jewell Loyd, Seattle Storm: This was a very tough call, but Loyd had a nice rookie season averaging 10.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on a Seattle team that has a very promising future.
Runner up: Tiah Stokes, New York Liberty.

Sixth Woman of the Year- Brittany Boyd, New York Liberty: This was a tough call as well and Boyd came off the bench and provided 6.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists off the bench on what is arguably the best team in the league.
Runner up: Roneeka Hodges, Atlanta Dream.

Most Improved Player- Riquna Williams, Tulsa Shock: With Skylar Diggins and Glory Johnson out for the season for different reasons, Williams stepped up and carried the Shock to the playoffs. She averaged 15.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
Runner up: Kayla McBride, San Antonio Stars.

Coach of the Year- Bill Lambeer, New York Liberty: Lambeer deserves a lot of credit for leading his talented team to the best record in the WNBA with a record of 23-11 considering the overhaul they had over the winter and there were questions about whether they would mesh right away or not. This was an easy call.
Runner up: Fred Williams, Tulsa Shock.
