2015 MLB Wild Card Game Predictions

Here are my predictions for the 2015 MLB Wild Card games.

American League
October 6th- Houston Astros vs New York Yankees- 8:00, ESPN: Both of these teams have exceeded preseason expectations and here they are in the postseason. Dallas Keuchel takes the ball for the Astros on short rest while Masahiro Tanaka takes the ball for the Yankees. Both clubs have good offenses with Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa leading the way for Houston and Carlos Beltran and Alex Rodriguez leading the way for the Yanks. Both teams have had good bullpens all year long but the Astros bullpen has been among the worst in the league in September. Both teams haven't played great baseball down the stretch, but playoff baseball is a different animal and teams prove that every year. This was a tough call to make, but I believe the Yankees bullpen is the difference in this one as they'll advance to the ALDS to take on the Kansas City Royals.
Prediction: Yankees 4, Astros 3.

National League
October 7th- Chicago Cubs vs Pittsburgh Pirates- 8:00, TBS: These are arguably two of the best three teams in baseball facing off in this game. Jake Arrieta takes the ball for the Cubs as Gerrit Cole takes the ball for the Pirates. These teams have good offenses with superstars like Anthony Rizzo and Andrew McCutchen on each team, respectively but I really think the pitching in this game would shut the offenses down. Both teams have great bullpens with guys like Mark Melacanon and Jason Motte on each side. Like the American League, it can go either way, but Arrieta is baseballs best pitcher right now and he'll carry the Cubs to the NLDS to face on their division rival St. Louis Cardinals.
Prediction: Cubs 4, Pirates 2.
