2015 NFL Week 5 Picks

Here are my picks for week five of the 2015 NFL season.

Thursday, October 8th
Indianapolis Colts (2-2) vs Houston Texans (1-3)- 8:25, CBS/NFLN: Indianapolis is coming off and overtime home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in which Andrew Luck didn't even play in. Houston is coming off a disastrous loss in Atlanta against the Falcons. I think this game will be closer than the experts think, but Luck is supposed to play again and I believe the Colts will win their third straight, but if Luck doesn't play, this pick will change. Andrew Luck won't play. Give me Houston at home.
Prediction: Houston 23, Indianapolis 20.

Sunday, October 11th
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3)- 1:00, CBS: This is the worst game of the weekend and it might not be close. Jacksonville is coming off an overtime loss in Indy against the Colts. Tampa is coming off a home loss against the Carolina Panthers. This is a coin flip, but give me the Bucs at home as Jameis Winston will outplay Blake Bortles.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 26, Jacksonville 21.

Chicago Bears (1-3) vs Kansas City Chiefs (1-3)- 1:00, FOX: Here's a battle of two 1-3 teams in which one of them is clearly better than the other. Chicago is coming off a home win against the Oakland Raiders. Kansas City is coming off a loss in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The Chiefs are a better team than their record indicates and they're 1-3 because of their tough schedule and I believe they win big here at home against a bad Bears team. Kansas City is my lock of the week.
Prediction: Kansas City 37, Chicago 17.

Washington Redskins (2-2) vs Atlanta Falcons (4-0)- 1:00, FOX: Washington is coming off a nice home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Atlanta is coming off a statement win over the Houston Texans. The Falcons were a tempting lock pick this week, but I still think they get by the Skins to remain undefeated.
Prediction: Atlanta 33, Washington 20.

Seattle Seahawks (2-2) vs Cincinnati Bengals (4-0)- 1:00, FOX: Seattle is coming off a home win over the winless Detroit Lions. Cincinnati is coming off a big home win over the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the best game of the week between two very good football teams. Expect a low scoring affair and for the Bengals to remain undefeated.
Prediction: Cincinnati 21, Seattle 17.

New Orleans Saints (1-3) vs Philadelphia Eagles (1-3)- 1:00, FOX: New Orleans is coming off an overtime home win over the Tony Romo-less Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia is coming off a tough loss in Landover against the Redskins. This is a tough call, but Drew Brees looks back and healthy and I think he outplays Sam Bradford and leads the Saints to their second straight win.
Prediction: New Orleans 27, Philadelphia 21.

Cleveland Browns (1-3) vs Baltimore Ravens (1-3)- 1:00, CBS: Cleveland is coming off a road loss in San Diego against the Chargers. Baltimore is coming off a big overtime road win in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. Like Chicago and Kansas City's cases, these are both 1-3 teams, but the Ravens are by far the better team here and they'll take care of business at home.
Prediction: Baltimore 31, Cleveland 17.

St. Louis Rams (2-2) vs Green Bay Packers (4-0)- 1:00, FOX: St. Louis is coming off a big road win in Glendale against a very good Cardinal team. Green Bay is coming off a road win in Santa Clara against the Niners, but didn't look great, but hey, a win is a win. The Packers are arguably the best team in the league and they'll take advantage of a Rams letdown.
Prediction: Green Bay 38, St. Louis 17.

Buffalo Bills (2-2) vs Tennessee Titans (1-2)- 1:00, CBS: Buffalo is coming off a disappointing home loss against the New York Giants. Tennessee is coming off their bye week, and two weeks ago they lost at home against the Indianapolis Colts. Buffalo missed Sammy Watkins and LeSean McCoy last week and Watkins's status is uncertain for next week. The Bills are the more talented team than the Titans and that will show here.
Prediction: Buffalo 26, Tennessee 20.

Arizona Cardinals (3-1) vs Detroit Lions (0-4)- 4:05, FOX: Arizona is coming off a disappointing home loss against the St. Louis Rams. Detroit is coming off a loss in Seattle against the Seahawks thanks to a controversial call and their still winless. This is a tough call, but I think the Cards bounce back and win on the road.
Prediction: Arizona 30, Detroit 24.

New England Patriots (3-0) vs Dallas Cowboys (2-2)- 4:25, CBS: New England is coming off a bye and two weeks ago, they won big at home over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dallas is coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Superdome against the Saints. If Tony Romo and Dez Bryant were healthy and playing, I'd pick the Cowboys here, but their not healthy and I think the Pats remain unbeaten even though it will be a closer game than people think.
Prediction: New England 33, Dallas 27.

Denver Broncos (4-0) vs Oakland Raiders (2-2)- 4:25, CBS: Denver is coming off a close home win over the Minnesota Vikings. Oakland is coming off a loss in Chicago against the Bears. The Raiders has been better than expected this season so far, but the Broncos are the better team here, so they'll get it done here.
Prediction: Denver 30, Oakland 20.

San Francisco 49ers (1-3) vs New York Giants (2-2)- 8:30, NBC: San Francisco is coming off a home loss against the Green Bay Packers. New York is coming off a huge road win in Orchard Park against the Bills. The Giants are the better team here and their poised to win big here at home and don't be surprised if we see this again.
Prediction: NY Giants 38, San Francisco 19.

Monday, October 12th
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) vs San Diego Chargers (2-2)- 8:30, ESPN: Pittsburgh is coming off a disappointing overtime home loss against the Baltimore Ravens. San Diego is coming off a home win over the Cleveland Browns. Ben Rothlisberger isn't back from injury yet and if he were healthy, I'd definitely pick the Steelers here. Michael Vick is under center again and I don't see him getting the job done against Philip Rivers and the Chargers.
Prediction: San Diego 27, Pittsburgh 20.
