2015 NFL Week 6 Picks

Here are my picks for week six of the 2015 NFL season.

Thursday, October 15th
Atlanta Falcons (5-0) vs New Orleans Saints (1-4)- 8:25, CBS/NFLN: This is the best rivalry in the NFC South and most of these games are close ones. The Falcons are still unbeaten after their overtime win over Washington. The Saints are coming off a disastrous loss in Philadelphia against an Eagle team that I find to be vastly overrated. I do believe the Saints will show up for this one against their rivals, but that rival in the Falcons are the better team and will remain unbeaten.
Prediction: Atlanta 27, New Orleans 20.

Sunday, October 18th
Denver Broncos (5-0) vs Cleveland Browns (2-3)- 1:00, CBS: The Broncos are coming off a win in Oakland against the Raiders in which Peyton Manning and the offense struggled. The Browns are coming off an overtime win in Baltimore against the Ravens in which Josh McCown was lights out. Cleveland could very well have a letdown here after a big division road win, so I like Denver to remain undefeated thanks to their amazing defense.
Prediction: Denver 24, Cleveland 16.

Chicago Bears (2-3) vs Detroit Lions (0-5)- 1:00, FOX: Chicago is coming off a nice road win in Kansas City against the Chiefs in which Jay Cutler led the team to a game winning drive for a second consecutive week. Detroit is coming off an ugly home loss against the Arizona Cardinals in which Matthew Stafford was benched in late in the third quarter. The Lions could very well win their first game here but the Bears are playing respectable football right now and I think they get back to .500 here against a team that's on the verge of hitting rock bottom.
Prediction: Chicago 23, Detroit 20.

Houston Texans (1-4) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4)- 1:00, CBS: Houston is coming off a disappointing home loss against the Andrew Luck-less Indianapolis Colts. Jacksonville is coming off a loss in Tampa against the Buccaneers, in which their offense looked good. These are both teams that aren't good, but I like Blake Bortles and the Jags here at home against a Texans team with quarterback issues.
Prediction: Jacksonville 27, Houston 23.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-0) vs Buffalo Bills (3-2)- 1:00, CBS: This is arguably the best game of the afternoon slate. Cincinnati is coming off a come-from-behind overtime home win over the Seattle Seahawks. Buffalo is coming off a win in Nashville over the Titans. Tyrod Taylor isn't healthy, but the Bengals may be due for a letdown, but I don't see a letdown here. Bengals should win this one and take advantage of the Bills injury issues.
Prediction: Cincinnati 27, Buffalo 19.

Washington Redskins (2-3) vs New York Jets (3-1)- 1:00, FOX: Washington is coming off a tough overtime loss in Atlanta against the Falcons. New York is coming off a bye and two weeks ago, they won in London over the dysfunctional Miami Dolphins. I do think this is a good matchup for these two teams defenses, but the Jets are home so I expect them to win a close one.
Prediction: NY Jets 21, Washington 17.

Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) vs Minnesota Vikings (2-2)- 1:00, CBS: Kansas City is coming off a disappointing home loss against the Chicago Bears in which Jamaal Charles tore his ACL in and is now out for the season. Minnesota is coming off their bye, and two weeks ago, they lost a close one in Denver against the Broncos. The Chiefs will certainly miss Charles and the Vikings will take advantage of that here.
Prediction: Minnesota 27, Kansas City 20.

Arizona Cardinals (4-1) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)- 1:00, FOX: Arizona is coming off a dominant road win in Detroit against the Lions. Pittsburgh is coming off a road win in San Diego against the Chargers thanks to Le'Veon Bell's rushing touchdown as time expired. There are some reports that Ben Rothlisberger may play this weekend, but it's a long shot. Whether it's Vick or Rothlisberger I'm taking the Cards in a close one here.
Prediction: Arizona 30, Pittsburgh 27.

Miami Dolphins (1-3) vs Tennessee Titans (1-3)- 1:00, CBS: Miami is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they lost to the Jets in London and than they fired head coach Joe Philbin. Dan Campbell is the new interim coach. Tennessee on the other hand, is coming off a tough home loss against the Buffalo Bills. This was a tough call, but I like the Dolphins here on the road against a below average Titans team.
Prediction: Miami 24, Tennessee 20.

Carolina Panthers (4-0) vs Seattle Seahawks (2-3)- 4:25, FOX: Carolina is coming off their bye and two weeks ago, they won in Tampa against the Buccaneers. Seattle is coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The Seahawks must win this game if they have a chance to catch Arizona in their division and I think they get it done against a team many would say that their unbeaten record is soft due to the fact they have beaten four below average teams.
Prediction: Seattle 17, Carolina 13.

Baltimore Ravens (1-4) vs San Francisco 49ers (1-4)- 4:25, CBS: Baltimore is coming off a tough overtime loss at home against the Cleveland Browns. San Francisco is coming off a heartbreaking loss in the Meadowlands against the New York Giants. Colin Kaepernick played well for the Niners and I believe he takes advantage of a weak Ravens pass rush this week and leads them to a win at home.
Prediction: San Francisco 24, Baltimore 21.

San Diego Chargers (2-3) vs Green Bay Packers (5-0)- 4:25, CBS: San Diego is coming off a home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers as the Steelers scored the game winning touchdown as time expired. Green Bay is coming off a home win over the St. Louis Rams in which Aaron Rodgers surprisingly looked human. I think Rodgers bounces back and leads the Pack to another win. The Packers are my lock of the week.
Prediction: Green Bay 41, San Diego 27.

New England Patriots (4-0) vs Indianapolis Colts (3-2)- 8:30, NBC: This is definitely the marquee game of the weekend because it's the first time these teams will face off since DeflateGate. The Pats are coming off a win in Arlington against the Cowboys. The Colts are coming off a win in Houston against the Texans. The Patriots will have a chip on their shoulder coming in this game and I think they lay the smackdown here against a mediocre Colts team.
Prediction: New England 44, Indianapolis 26.

Monday, October 19th
New York Giants (3-2) vs Philadelphia Eagles (2-3)- 8:30, ESPN: New York is coming off an entertaining win at home against the San Francisco 49ers. Philadelphia is coming off a much needed home win over the New Orleans Saints. The Giants pass rushed has struggled without Jason Pierre-Paul, but their run defense has been pretty good. The Eagle defense isn't great, either. We're heading for a shootout in this one, but Eli Manning is the better quarterback and that will be the difference here.
Prediction: NY Giants 33, Philadelphia 30.
