2016 MAAC Tournament Predictions

Here are my predictions for the 2016 MAAC tournament. The tournament will be held at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York.

First Round
March 3rd- (9) Quinnipiac (9-20; 6-14) vs (8) Rider (12-19; 8-12)- 5:00
Prediction: Rider

March 3rd- (10) Niagara (7-24; 5-15) vs (7) Canisius (13-18; 8-12)- 7:00
Prediction: Canisius

March 3rd- (11) Marist (7-22; 4-16) vs (6) Manhattan (12-17; 9-11)- 9:00
Prediction: Manhattan

Quarterfinals
March 4th- (8) Rider vs (1) Monmouth (25-6; 17-3)- 7:00, ESPN3
Prediction: Monmouth

March 4th- (7) Canisius vs (2) Iona (19-10; 16-4)- 9:30, ESPN3
Prediction: Iona

March 5th- (6) Manhattan vs (3) Siena (20-11; 13-7)- 7:00, ESPN3
Prediction: Siena

March 5th- (5) Fairfield (18-12; 12-8) vs (4) Saint Peter's (14-15; 12-8)- 9:30, ESPN3
Prediction: Saint Peter's

Semifinals
March 6th- (4) Saint Peter's vs (1) Monmouth- 4:30, ESPN3
Prediction: Monmouth

March 6th- (3) Siena vs (2) Iona- 7:00, ESPN3: Siena is an improved team, but Iona is the more superior team and will move on to the Championship game again.
Prediction: Iona

Championship
March 7th- (2) Iona vs (1) Monmouth- 7:00, ESPN: These two teams are clearly the two best teams in the MAAC. Monmouth has gotten a lot of attention because of their crazy bench (and rightfully so), but the Gaels have more experience in these types of games than the Hawks, so the Gaels will punch a ticket to the Big Dance and the Hawks may earn at at-large bid because of their strong resume.
