2019 Big East Tournament Predictions

Here are my predictions for the 2019 Big East Tournament. The tournament will be held at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York.

First Round
3/13- (9) Butler (16-15; 7-11) vs (8) Providence (17-14; 7-11)- 7:00, FS1: Both of these teams were inconsistent in conference play this season. In this game, I'm going to take the Bulldogs led by Kamar Baldwin.
Pick: Butler

3/13- (10) DePaul (15-14; 7-11) vs (7) St. John's (20-11; 8-11)- 9:30, FS1: The Blue Demons swept the Red Storm in the regular season, but one of those games the Storm did not have Shamorie Ponds. Ponds is healthy in this one and with a home court advantage, I like the Red Storm to win here to ensure themselves an at-large bid.
Pick: St. John's

Quarterfinal
3/14- (9) Butler vs (1) Villanova (22-9; 13-5)- 12:00, FS1: The Wildcats always thrive while playing at MSG it seems like and I like them to advance here against an underwhelming Bulldogs team.
Pick: Villanova

3/14- (5) Creighton (18-13; 9-9) vs (4) Xavier (17-14; 9-9)- 2:30, FS1: An interesting matchup here between two teams that are playing very well down the stretch. Tough call here, but give me the Blue Jays led by Ty-Shon Alexander and Martin Krampelj.
Pick: Creighton

3/14- (7) St. John's vs (2) Marquette (23-8; 12-6)- 7:00, FS1: The Red Storm swept the Golden Eagles in the regular season, but I think Markus Howard leads the way for the Golden Eagles.
Pick: Marquette

3/14- (6) Georgetown (19-12; 9-9) vs (3) Seton Hall (18-12; 9-9)- 9:30, FS1: The Hoyas have been a pleasant surprise this season and the Pirates exceeded expectations this season as well. The best player on the court in this one will be Myles Powell and he'll lead the Pirates to a big win as Patrick Ewing and Company will hold their breath on Selection Sunday.

Semifinal
3/15- (5) Creighton vs (1) Villanova- 6:30, FS1: A nice run from the Blue Jays comes to an end against a hungrier Wildcats team led by Eric Paschall and Phil Booth.
Pick: Villanova

3/15- (3) Seton Hall vs (2) Marquette- 9:00, FS1: This is going to be a great game. I really like how this Pirates team is playing so I'll take them to advance to the Final.
Pick: Seton Hall

Championship
3/16- (3) Seton Hall vs (1) Villanova- 6:30, FOX: This is some matchup for the Big East Tournament title. I see the Wildcats getting revenge here since they lost to the Pirates a few weeks back as they'll wind up around a 5-seed and the Pirates at perhaps the 10-line.
